Just booked January 6-13 - party of 17. Staying at the Tropicana Inn & Suites. WOOT WOOT!!! Flying in from Calgary! 4 day park hopper, Universal Studios, then one free to day see Hollywood, or Venice Beach Freakshow, or who knows haha.

LETS DO THIS!!!

Oh man, a group of 17! That sounds like it's gonna be bananas.

We're a teensy group of 2, doing a split stay between two nights at the La Quinta and three nights at the Disneyland Hotel from the 11-16th.

Man, if all works out, our time at DL will overlap your time, and we'll be at the same motel. :dance3:

We are booked at the Hojo Jan 1 -7. Coming in from Cold Lake AB. It will be just 3 of us.

We will be going Jan. 4 - 9! We are staying at the Grand Californian.

We are taking this trip in memory of my Dad. He had been planning on taking my daughter (and us, but his world revolved around her) and staying at the GCH, but he died, unexpectedly, before he could put his plan into action.

We plan to bring a picture of him along and maybe have some buttons made up or something, knowing that he will be there in spirit with us.

We are billing the trip as "Pappy's Memorial Trip." He would have loved that.

that's a good time to go, very low crowds. we went in January 2012 around that time. weather really nice, especially for those of us from Canada,

do you already have tix? in January 2012 we bought the southern California citypass from Costco Canada online. it was the cheapest option. 3 day park hopper, 1 day universal and 1 day seaworld, and you can upgrade the 3 day to a 4 day hopper at the park.

Pappy would be happy, as a father Of three little girls I can feel it!!!!

I don't have tickets yet. Been looking all over the Internet. Can find any deals. I'll check out Costco soon. Don't want to go to Seaworld though #groupconcencus. Last visit we went over Christmas. Can't wait to check out january.

We'll be there January 27-30...just 3 of us, myself, my husband and our 4-year old son. I'm looking forward to capping off our last night there with fireworks! We've been planning since April...we really lucked out and were able to book our flights on miles and our hotel on points! We're staying at the new Marriott Springhill Suites on Harbor.

We will be there January 27-30. Staying at Disneyland hotel, woot woot. Myself and DS age 11 and my friend and her DS age 11, (they are best friends)!!! Can't wait!!:cool1:

I just booked a longish girls' weekend at the Grand Californian for January 23 - 26. Can't wait! I've never been in January so I'd love advice; I'm guessing layers for clothes and rain gear just in case? We're hoping it won't be too crowded as we managed to avoid any holidays. Also, is there a good place to grab an adult beverage at the GC? Or are we better off to head over to Trader Sam's or somewhere in Downtown Disney? Thanks!

January is my family's favorite time to go. Low crowds, but the trade off is refurbishments and lack of nighttime entertainment. The beginning of the month is busy with holiday offerings winding down and the release of block dates for passholders. The Star Wars races will make the weekend before MLK day busy. Then comes NAMM the following weekend.

Reliable rumors have Fantasmic and the fireworks down beginning Jan. 7th. Also looks like Soarin and Splash are down.

We are going January 18 the through the 22nd. We expect the crowds will be heavy at the start of our trip, but it should slow down before all the NAMM attendees arrive. Just hoping the refurbishments do not continue to grow.

There is a great lounge right in GC, called the Hearthstone. :)

We are going to be there the same time as NAMM -- can you give me an idea of what the influence of this is? We are staying on site and won't have a car, so we won't have to worry about traffic. We also have our room already, so we're not in danger of getting locked out. Do lots of attendees go to the park? Or is it mostly in DTD that we'll notice it? There are just adults in my group so we are pretty flexible and I expect there will be refurbs, although Splash AND Soarin would be a bummer. Thanks...

We went during NAMM, by mistake, a couple of years ago and still had a terrific time. Yes, it was busy, but we were in the sunshine while a snowstorm hit at home!

I meant to say World of Color will be down, not the fireworks. Sorry.
