January runners - our ADR's open next week

We've booked our ADR's for 10 days of our 14 day stay. We are going to the Coral Reef for the after marathon dinner but have also booked Tusker House, Chef Mickeys, Cindys Royal Table, Akershus and Biergarten. We have never eaten in any of these places and are really looking forward to trying table service restaurants :D

I got a character breakfast at 1900 Park Fare for Saturday. We want to keep it low key that day, but keep the Disney magic going, so I figured a late breakfast would do the trick. :) We will do either make your own pasta or Earl of Sandwich for dinner.

For after, I'm thinking Sanaa. My sister will have to leave on a 6 o clock flight since she starts her next semester of school the next day. I love Sanaa (mmm, naan bread..), and the animals everywhere will keep up the magic a little longer. :) Only problem: there are no ADRs for it yet! Grrr

I will also keep stalking BOG. My sister and her partner will only here 4 days. We are doing Universal on Thursday, Epcot/MK on Friday (when hopefully I can get BOG!), breakfast/resort time on Saturday, Marathon, shower, and Sanaa on Sunday!

I'm hoping there is a Monday morning WISH meet since I'll be by myself. I am slow, so I'd need the extra night of hotel just to shower, and I don't really feel like driving back 3 hours right after running. I have a feeling I'll find ways to keep myself entertained. :)

JCH, where is "make your own pasta"?

They have them in a lot of the food courts. I'll be at AoA and I know they have it there.

PO-Riverside has make your own pasta in their food court. Night before the race the line is long. I ended up doing a kid meal of roast turkey and mashed potatoes. Yummy, cheap and fast.

Anyone have restaurant suggestions for good places to eat on the monorail loop? I'm not sure if we're doing parks this trip since we're only going for a long weekend. We're at BLT, but have never eaten at any restaurant there besides Chef Mickey's. I'd prefer something more low key than that, but don't want to play the bus hopping game to get to another resort. I'm thinking about Kona since we really liked eating there on our last trip, but I need to book 1-2 more reservations.

I've eaten at The Wave and enjoyed it. It's not as upscale as other places I have also eaten--California Grill (which will be closed), Citricos (my vote for an upscale locale on the monorail line) or Narcoossees. Plus it's cheaper than the others. Of course, cheap is hard to find at WDW!

have most of ours in place... Trying to plan for groups of 7 and 10 is taxing. Thinking we will prepare in the villa on Friday just to avoid the crowds.

Just booked for Saturday night at Jiko. That will probably be our only meal out. We'll cook in at OKW for the others.

For those of you who have done the marathon before - did you feel like eating a big celebratory dinner that night after running? I am figuring I'm either going to be starving and ready to inhale anything and everything, or that my stomach will be off after all of that exertion and not feel up to a big meal.

YES. :goodvibes Immediately after running I wasn't too hungry, but after about an hour it really set in. We headed to Beaches and Cream for lunch and then 'Ohana for dinner. I probably ate my money's worth there a little more than normal that evening!

Going down the stairs after the marathon is worse for me than up. On Marathon Monday last year we did Germany for lunch and they sat us down by the stage. I never think anything of stairs so didn't think to ask to sit on the top row. Man, every trip back down those stairs was a marathon in itself.

The worst though had to be exiting the American Adventure and that ramp. I stopped at the top and waited for everyone else to go because I knew once I started down I was at the mercy of inertia and if someone was in the way we were going to both get hurt.

Yes, going down stairs is the worst! I met Mickey in Town Square Theater the day after the marathon and when I was walking down the stairs afterward the Cast Member actually laughed at me! My quads were on FIRE.

We're staying at the Polynesian for marathon weekend and I'm trying REALLY hard to take advantage of the dining on the monorail loop. Right now we're booked at 'Ohana on Saturday after the half and Narcoossee's on Sunday after the full (our first time eating there!). We'll probably hit up Kona for lunch after the full and a late breakfast after the half, and we're set for a late breakfast at 'Ohana on Marathon Monday! :goodvibes SO EXCITED!

I made a reservation for Le Cellier for Friday night… I’m almost sure we’ll eat at Jiko on Saturday night, but I’m still mulling Thursday options.

Made our ADR for Chef Mickey's on Sunday. This has not been on the top of my list for quite a few years, but I thought it would be fun to be able to get pictures with our medals and with characters! My DH and DD are running the Half and My good friend and myself are running the Full! This will be a great opportunity for all four of us to get pictures together. I will let my daughter choose the Sat. dinner.

I have eaten both lunch and dinner at The Wave and both were great meals. It is a bit light on the theming and atmosphere but the meals were excellent.

We are staying at Poly and I booked 'Ohana for Saturday night after the half. We have Chef Mickey's booked for Friday breakfast and I'm hoping to do BOG Sunday for dinner. Still waiting on news for that, though.
