We are planning a January 2014 trip to the world for DD's 10th birthday. I'm trying to get an idea of what resort we want to try to get into. This will be the second trip in our UY and I am trying to budget our points accordingly for our May 2013 trip.

We will be there the week between New Year's and Marathon Weekend (her bday is the 8th). We originally wanted to book at AKV, our home resort, and try for BC 7 months out. We have never stayed at BC and want to try out SAB. Will we get good use of the pool this time of year? Or should we try for the BC on a later trip, different time of year? If we wait until a later date, which resorts do you recommend this time of year? TIA :)

Shorter hours at the pool during winter time because it gets darker earlier. The pool is heated, but not all that warm. Weather can be in the 80's or 40's.

Could you do BCV in May instead?

January in Florida can be fairly cold, like 40s and 50s, not swimming weather. You'd probably be better off at your home resort then. In May, BC would be perfect.

Now that I'm looking at the points, I think I will try. Now just waiting for the 7 month mark. UGH! :)

may has the flower/garden festavial

while Oct has the food/wine festavial

enjoy the parks more during the f/g - especially the music

enjoy the food a little more during the f/w.
