I am in! My goal is 20 no buy days. My DD wants to go WDW in December for her birthday. So in order for us to go we need to save around $250 per month. If we stick to our budget we should be able to accomplish.

I am planning on eating out once a week with my best friend, grocery shopping once a week and buying gas once a week (between DH and I). Other then that I do not plan to spend any money (outside of bills) in Jan.

1/1 - $0
1/2 - $8.00 (lunch out with best friend)

I'm in too!

I'll try for 22 no buy days, saving Fridays for gasoline fill ups and grocery shopping and throwing a couple of extra days in for the unexpected purchases.

DS told me last night that the Sennheiser headphones he got for Christmas last year quit working on the left side. Luckily I bought them on Amazon so I was able to look up the receipt and warranty info. and they're still under warranty. I have them all ready to be sent back (prepaid shipping, yay!) so didn't have to spend anything today.

I'm in. Goal is 15 no buy days to start.

No drive through coffee this month.
1 lunch out this month.

I have a few gift cards so if something I haven't budgeted for, like a bday gift, pops up, I will use those. Told the kids what ever we have left over in grocery budget I will put in Disney trip fund, so not to bug me for extras etc. if we are out shopping, and to eat what's in the house. (Like popcorn & juice instead of getting dh to run for chps & pop!) lol

1: Dh bought chips & pop.
2: Did grocery shopping
3: 0-No Buy!
4: 0 - (Used remainder of a GC for some groceries, and dd and I went to a coffee house - GC for that too)
5: 0
6: $14 Had to get my mom groceries, so ended up picking up a few things since I was there. Ugh.
7: Filled gas tank, went out for lunch w/ dh

Yahoo!! I'm so glad the No Buy is back!:cool1: I was out of work for 18 months and bedridden for 2 months due 2 back surgeries. So, we got sloppy and lazy with spending. I had to rely on my DH to do the shopping and everything else for that matter:worried: He did the best he could.
Now time to get back on track. I'm up and about and back to work.....I am in charge again. lol

I'm going back to old school and track like we used to. (creature of habit).

We are now a Family of 4 adults w/1 dog...
Groceries/Household spending: $250.00
Gas for 1 van: /$250
Eat Out: $25.00/$100
Misc: /$200
No Buy Days: 1/15

01/02: $25.00 take out wings. (tradition on a snow storm night)

January 1 - the entire family and DD17 boyfriend went to see "Frozen" - $54 ($9 each for a matinee!!). We don't buy snacks at the theater but eat before we go.

On the way home a guy in a pickup truck ran a stop sign at a high rate of speed and totaled his vehicle and ours. This is the first accident we have had in the 17 years(!) we have owned our Ford Windstar. Fortunately the airbags and seatbelts worked brilliantly and we are not injured, although stiff and sore. We will get little or nothing for it from the insurance company and our car insurance does not cover car rental ($600 for a month). Not starting out this New Year in a good position financially. I would love to hear suggestions/recommendations for new vehicles under $25K. I do have consumer reports on-line and their recs include the VW Golf, Honda Accord and various Hyundai.

1/1 - $0. Had people over for the day and fed and entertained but we bought all of the food out of the regular grocery budget and people brought so much that we had way way too much!

1/2 -$11.27 - It was a $0 day but I just ordered a 2014 calendar online. I keep a big one on the wall in the kitchen and it has everyones schedule on it. It's kind of integral to the smooth running of my household. I went to write something on it this evening and realized it's 2014! So a new one was needed. :)

1/3- $0 I am going to call it now because I don't plan to go anywhere, ds is having some friends over for tobogganing and board games, and we are staying in otherwise.

I'm sorry to hear that. Thank goodness you are all ok!! We are also looking at a used but new to us vehicle this summer. We just need something larger. The Toyota certified Rav4's are nice, roomy enough for us and the dog, and could easily come in under 25K for something with 50,000 or less km's. So it might be worth looking at Rav4's too if you aren't opposed to used.

If it was the other guy's fault HIS insurance pays for the rental car until you get your check

Not sure what size car you're looking for, since you had a Windstar but mention smaller cars, but my Mazda3 came in well under 25K new and it's averaged 35 mpg since I got it a year and a half ago. (I'm a little obsessive watching the average change--highest it ever was was 36.1 not long after I got it, went down to 34.5 last winter, back up to 35.7 this summer, going back down now that it's winter!)

It is very small though--great for parallel parking, not for long family trips!

Sorry about your accident. Thank goodness you are all ok. Just be careful, tomorrow you may not be feeling so well. Hope all turns out ok for you.

I decided to pick up the things that I was getting at Target on my lunch hour today due to the storm coming in. I spent $60 on dog food, coffee, bacon, milk and salad. DH went to an auto care store for windshield wipers and a snow brush $50. We went to Walmart and spent $50 on groceries, meat for 5 meals, fish sticks for DS and a few other items.

Jan. 1 $250 emergency vet.

Jan. 2 Target $60 (got a $5 gift card with dog food)
Auto store $50.
WalMar $50.

Jan. 1. $18 New music for new year/work outs from amazon (Sherman brothers songbook...soo good!)

Jan. 2 $10 gas/ $1 candy crush ( I know, i know, total waste of money.)

DBF took me out for lunch today so that was nice for my own wallet, though with pay day tomorrow I am planning on paying for our Tomorrowland Terrace Dessert party ADRs, so that'll be $50. Atleast when I get back to work on Monday it'll be more of a normal, non going out schedule.

So far, so good.
1---$0
2---$0
3---$13 New curtain rod to hang the drapes that have been waiting to be hung since I bought them two years ago. $25 pizza dinner since the one I made with stuff from our shelves (trying to eat only from what we have) turned out to be.....not so good.

Well I thought I was off to a good start until the unexpected vet visit today!

1/1 - $10
1/2 - $215 (this included going to the grocery store and the vet)
