My BFF and I just booked a trip for mid-January. We've been talking about this for 8 years and it's FINALLY HAPPENING!!! :hyper: DH and I are going this October, and are super sad BTMR will be down - it's our favorite ride, and this got me thinking... I know Jan will prob be a slow month, so should we anticipate a ton of closures/refurbs? Granted we will be thrilled just to be there together, but I kind of want to brace myself, haha! It will also be my first time ever stating offsite - we got a discount through my work to stay at Desert Palms - any tips? Also, what kind of weather can we look forward to? We'll be coming from Nebraska, so i KNOW it will be a HUGE improvement! :rotfl:

Second half of Jan/first half Feb you might see Splash Mountain and Grizzly. There also may be a ride on Paradise Pier down in converting to "Pixar Pier"

Rides with Christmas overlays generally close after new years as well.

We were there the last weekend in January of this year. Grizzly Peak was closed. ToT was down for the changeover to GotG. Small World was down to remove the holiday overlay. All the Rivers of America attractions were closed, of course. Also, the Matterhorn closed for a refurbishment about halfway through our visit, as I recall. I think everything else was open - I was surprised it wasn't worse! Granted, we got there the week MSEP returned, so they might have had things a little more opened up for that reason.

As others have said, the three attractions that have holiday overlays (Haunted Mansion, It's a Small World, and Jungle Cruise) go down for a part of January to have the overlays removed. Historically, HM and JC close right have the holiday season ends and then after they come back up (towards the latter half January), IaSW goes down. Additionally, the water rides often go down for refurbishment during the winter (Splash and GRR), although the timing can vary from year-to-year. Other than those, refurbishments don't really seem to follow a set pattern, but it's likely that least one or more attractions will be down in January.
