Trip overview: Friday, January 26th through Saturday, February 3rd 2001 1st night - All Star Sports, remaining night Dixie Landings. Sunshine Getaway package - which means we get breakfast of our choice every morning.

Day 3 - Monday, January 29th -

We were up at 7:15 today and out the door for Epcot by 8:15. We had a nice quiet walk all the way through Epcot to the Boardwalk were we were seated for breakfast at Spoodles at 9:30. We had a great breakfast! The buffet had a wide variety of stuff from fruit to frittata and even some salmon which was wonderful on a bagel with cream cheese. They also had the best pineapple juice.

We walked back through Epcot after our meal and got some great photos of the World Showcase with no one around.

We did quite a few things in Future World including, Innoventions, Wonders of Life, The Land, Ellen’s Energy Adventure, and Honey I Shrunk the Audience. We also stopped in Mexico and had a margarita on the patio. Eventually it was time for our 6:00 PS at Le Cellier in Canada. We only had to wait a few minutes before being seated. I kind of felt like I was eaves dropping on people next to us because our tables were rather close, other than that we loved this restaurant. The breadsticks they bring out are great. Joe ordered the cheese soup, I had a ceaser salad, we shared the mushroom stuffed filet mignon with a side of asparagus. Unfortunately we didn’t have room to share the creme brulee that I had heard so much about. Our bill for all that food with 1 pop was $44.00 with the tip.

We slowly worked our way out of Epcot and headed back to Dixie Landings. After all that walking ;) we stopped in the foodcourt for 2 ice cream cones. We climbed in bed and watched some TV and fell asleep shortly after.

Bank Account Damage Housekeeping tip $3.00, Le Cellier $43.00, Pineapple Smoothie $3.25, ice cream cones $4.00

Day 4 - Tuesday, Jan. 30th

We got up this morning at about 6:45 and headed over to the fishing hole at Dixie Landings. It’s a small pond where you can rent cane poles and get some worms for $4.00 an hour. We were the only ones there at this hour, it’s very relaxing to watch all the ducks and birds. We had no luck fishing though, we could see plenty of fish but I think they are wise to the worm and hook that they saw. After a disappointing fishing trip we went back to our room to shower.

We hopped on the bus to Magic Kingdom and took a boat to Wilderness Lodge for our breakfast at Artist Point. We saw Winnie the Pooh, Tigger, and Eeyore. The meal here is pre-plated and consists of eggs, potatoes, pancakes, sausage, biscuit, bread, and juice. I was dissappointed that there wasn’t any fruit included. This wasn’t our best meal of the trip. I would probably go back to Crystal Palace to see Pooh and the gang, although Artist Point was a lot quieter than the Crystal Palace. There was even a little boy who was lucky enough to have Pooh and Tigger sit down at his table to play with the toys he had brought.

On our way out of Wilderness Lodge we looked up on the balcony to see a couple getting married - very romantic. We really thought this resort was gorgeous. I think if Joe had his choice that would be were he would stay next time.

We proceeded to go on lots of rides at Magic Kingdom including Winnie the Pooh, Snow White, Peter Pan, Country Bear Jamboree, and Buzz Lightyear. Before we left MK at 4:30 we stopped in the candy store and bought a huge peanut butter rice krispie bar and a chocolate turtle for a snack.

After a well needed nap we changed into warmer clothes and again headed to the Magic Kingdom. This time we took the monorail to the Polynesian.

We ran over to the beach just in time to see the fireworks from Magic Kingdom. We grabbed a hammock and relaxed for awhile until our stomachs couldn’t wait any longer. Our PS at Kona Cafe was for 8 pm, but I think we checked in at 7:40 or so, and were seated right away. It really is not fair that they put all the desserts out for you to see, I was tempted to skip dinner and head straight for the desserts, but we didn’t.

We started off with the sticky wings and shared the asian chicken pasta salad. Joe had a beer and I had a mai tai. For dessert we shared the Koko Puffs. Everything was wonderful. All the restaurants were great about bringing an extra plate so that we could share our entree, we didn’t have to ask once. For those of you who have never had the Koko Puffs they are a pastry filled with chocolate cream and topped with a thick frosting, very rich!

We had planned on waiting on the beach and watching the water pageant go by, but we decided not to. We would have had to wait a half an hour for the parade. We opted instead to catch a bus to Downtown Disney and do some exploring. We wandered through some shops and made our way to Pleasure Island. We each grabbed a drink and wandered from bar to bar just watching people dance and listening to music.

I think we made it back to the resort and to bed by midnight.

Damage for The Day Tip for housekeeping $3.00, Rice Krispie and Turtle $4.00, Kona Cafe $47.00, Drinks Downtown ? $13.00 for 3 drinks
