If I book Stay, Play and Dine online (tomorrow hopefully!), am I able to upgrade dining plan from Quick Service to regular Dining Plan online? Or would I need to call to do this?
Just to refresh...The only rumor I've seen is from a very reputable source (Joe Black): Looks like a Stay, Play, Dine package may be available for booking on October 3. This package would be for dates from January 1 through March 3, 2018. All Star Movies and French Quarter would be among the exclusions. Additionally, there may also be hotel discounts from January 1 through April 14, 2018. Again, these are only rumors, so plan accordingly.
It's interesting that he makes no mention of a Visa release (he usually would say that if he knew about it) although there has ALWAYS been a visa release with Stay, Play, Dine. Also...10/3 is Tuesday, not tomorrow, so for all of you hoping for tomorrow, that is not the current rumor (Good Luck though!)
Another comment of interest...Last year I booked SPD the morning of the VISA release around 7:15am. I then made a comment that once I had booked, I was able to go in and "change reservation" and price other resort options on the Visa Promo. It appears from my comment that it WAS NOT available online during the Visa release. I'm only mentioning this for those hoping to book online...it may not be possible, you may have to call.
I am new here and I am trying to sort out how the discounts might work. We have booked for a week in Feb and I have a package that includes Port of Orleans, Riverside, park tickets and quick service dining. If a deal comes out for Stay, Play and Dine can the discount be applied to your current stay and is it a certain % off your current stay as a whole or do I need to have the math break down of the current package that I have already booked. Apologies on a complicated question but after reading some of the threads I think I am confused a bit.
Thanks!
To add to scrapping's post... There will likely be a room only discount & a stay play dine.I am new here and I am trying to sort out how the discounts might work. depending on the savings %
We are already booked at Pop Century and the only change we might do is add another day if a discount is available Would I really need to be in that big of a hurry to try to get that changed or could I just wait until the phone lines relax? Unless of course we win a raffle we are entered in for a big Disney Gift Card on October 20th. If we win that there will be a huge upgrade coming!
It's been explained to me that to add a day to your current reservation, there needs to be new availability for your entire booking, not just the 1 night. For example, if you have 5 nights booked and wish to change it to 6, there needs to be availability for an entire new 6 night stay in order for them to add the extra night.
I had a 9 night reservation booked for September (moved to January thanks to Irma) and I tried numerous times over a couple of months to add 1 more night to my reservation. They were never able to accommodate my request so in the end I had to book a 1 night, room only reservation prior to my package starting.
Calling or not calling will all depend on how important it is to you to have this extra day added to the package or if you are comfortable booking a room-only reservation for that extra date. Also, please note that if that extra date is at the end of your package it will affect your FP+ bookings for that day and Dining Plan if you have those as part of your current reservation.
Just so you are aware, that is not how this works. This "adults pay children prices" is a false rumor that's been circulating for years. This has been absolutely proven false in each of the last 3 years by me and backed up by one of the owners of Mousesavers.com and the way the discount works actually isn't very mysterious anymore. This thread shows how the discount works: https://www.disboards.com/threads/stay-play-dine-2017-calculation-thread.3550783/My TA said that the PSD discount is basically the equivalent of paying the child rate ($25.75 for the regular plan) of the dinning plan instead of the adult rate ($75.49) - As I’m staying for 15 days, that’s a considerable discount.
Saying that, I've heard a lot of different explanations on this discount and it’s all very mysterious.
Thanks!I did it online when I booked last year with no problem.

Interesting. That makes sense of why it is so hard to add 1 night!
We are booked in November at POP (preferred) and I wanted to add another day on at the start of our trip. Nothing is available to do that. I was finally able to book the 1 extra night in a separate ressie, but for a standard room. I am thinking my best bet is to keep it like that but try to get the 1 night switched to preferred, if it ever comes available. If I am able to switch the 1 night to preferred, I am hoping somehow (maybe by calling, or at check-in) they would combine the 2 ressies, so at least we wouldn't have to switch rooms.?.

Good Luck! A few things to remember - the more flexible you are, the more likely you may be able to take advantage of the discount. (i.e. are you flexible with your room category, your resort, even your dates...) HOWEVER don't change to something you don't want just to do a discount, so not worth it. Take the vacation you want to take!Thank you all!
Thank you for the link! I’m send Ming it to my tA so he knows - it’s our first time ever going to WDW and so we hear a lot of information, that’s why I started participating more in the forums to be made aware of which ones where true and which aren’t.Just so you are aware, that is not how this works.
