January/February 2018 discounts, who else is in?

Still no word on deals for January 2018?!

The earliest Visa release ever was 9/24 in 2015. The earliest public release was that same year on 9/28. I don't think anybody needs to panic yet, haha.

If you look at the historical release dates there are a lot of MONDAY and THURSDAY combinations in the past (i.e. MON visa, THURS public // THURS visa, MON public)...Last year was odd with a WEDNESDAY visa, FRIDAY public. None of the good rumor sources have said anything yet. Joe Black hasn't posted since April...I can't recall who any of the other rumor sources were.

So in summary...we know nothing. But I'd put money on a deal coming out in the next month...keep checking back, haha!

Has there been a discount in the past called "Fun in the Sun?" I just saw a sponsored ad in Google search results for that on special offers, but when I clicked on it, the offers were still holiday offers. Just wondering if that is one that is imminent.

Just spoke with a great cast member. She checked and double checked and said nothing this morning. Then she maybe in a month. So I ran down the release dates in the past and she laughed and commented on how some of us really know our stuff. She said check back tomorrow morning and maybe we will have a better morning. Yeah, because this is a different offer. People are chomping at the bit for Stay play dine, which is different than the generic hotel discounts.

Yes, offers can overlap. There are currently 4 different offers visible on the Canadian Disney site, all that have different end dates.

Planning in my head for Monday at the earliest since the Disney Visa offer didn't drop today.

2018 Military offers went on site overnight.

I have no idea how it's worked in the past (who is offered first), but I have no problem with military families getting first crack at discounted availability.

My limited understanding is that military discounts separately room and tickets so they can be more flexible (room only, tickets only, or both a la carte). These also have no connection to the DP to predict what we may see in SPD, they're different promotions.

Does anyone else keep checking pricing, doing the math on what the historical "Stay, Play and Dine" deal was, with dining plan, without dining plan...??? I'm making myself crazy! We don't even have a trip planned, yet I've already got our trip and meals planned out in my head (and on paper).

I was waiting to book too, but booked AoA LM the other day because it was the only "value" left for the day we needed. I keep hoping something else opens up or a good discount comes out so we can switch to a moderate.

Yeah, I'm toying with the idea of POFQ if the discount is good. We'll see!
