January Crowds

We're looking to book in January! Are the crowds more or less January 6-12 or January 27-February 2? Would they be about the same?

Can't answer but would like to know as well. Planning on January 26 - February 2 as well. However, would be willing to switch weeks if it means less crowds!

I subscribe to a website that gives crowd estimates. Their crowd calendar shows the crowds being slightly lighter for the late Jan/early Feb dates you mentioned. For the 6th thru 12th, the crowd calendar shows more 5s and 6s (out of 10), while the later dates show more 4s and 5s (even a 3!). Truthfully, I think either time would be fine. We went this year the week of the end of Jan/beginning of Feb and the crowd levels were much better than I had even expected. We enjoyed it SO much that I just booked another trip for 2008 -- January 21st thru 26th. Can't wait!

I tried to type it its name, but it turns into asterisks. Hmmm. How shall I say this? It's the website run by the Unofficial Guide folks. Hint: famous for their "touring plans". Google the words touring, plans and disney and it should be your first choice. Hope that helps.

FYI to all...I went the last week in Jan. last year and I did not wait in 1 line!!! Well...Buzz was maybe 5 minutes!!! We are going back this year the 20th-27th!

I agree. I think the last week in January is a great week to go. Except in the late afternoons (and at Soarin'), we didn't see any lines over 10 minutes long.

We usually go mid to late January or the 1st week of Feb and the crowds aren't bad at all. The Disney Marathon is Jan 10-13 this year and I hear the hotels get pretty booked up, but the parks aren't too bad. We're booked for Jan 23-30, 2008.
