January 8, 2006- 4 night Wonder- Anybody else coming with?

Thanks Eveybody I'm feeling way better. My solution is simply to take the medicine and sleep as much as possible. If I'm unconscious I'm not aware that I'm suffering :) I've got so much to do that I can't afford to be sick anymore My niece says hi :Pinkbounc
She's got a new book she says everybody should read it's called My Teacher Is a Alien.
SleepingBeauty I'm glad that your Mom's coming.

oh heck, 13 days?! Really?? I think I'd better get started on mailing some packages!

Joy, glad you're feeling better. I totally agree with the staying unconcious part - my drug of choice is 2 Tylenol PM, chug some Nyquil, and I'm out like a light :) Here's hoping tomorrow you feel even better!

P.S. Hi back to your niece :)

JoyCrazy...glad you're feeling better. DH is now feeling sick...like everyone said better now than later.

TxSleepingBeauty..glad your Mom's going.

I am trying to get our Christmas cards out. Anyone else struggling with this? The stress is starting to get to me. :earseek:

I got my cards done and sent out at the beginning of the week.

Tonight I finished the majority of the wrapping. I have only a few small things to do and then I'm going to put the wrapping stuff away.

I mailed mine out Dec. 1 :rolleyes1 I know all my receipients were hating me :rotfl: . But it was my way to put off studying for my finals.

I've done more planning on this trip than on Christmas cards! :confused3
I even thought about each time I receive a card, then I would just mail one back... is that cheating? Anyway, my DH helped and we whipped them out. :love2:

For those of us visiting the parks before our trip, is anyone going to brave Evening Magic Hours at Epcot on Friday night?

I know people say to avoid that, but I thought with it being Jan it might be a little lighter. I know marathon will load things up, but since the first marathon starts at 6 am the next morning, wondering if they wouldn't be tucked in bed by then.

We have to be there anyway for an evening ADR at Le Cellier, but it remains to be seen if we stay for the rides. Keeping fingers crossed for short lines :)

(DH LOVES Mission ride...I have yet to brave it. Mebbe it would be a good way to try out my Bonine ;) )

We haven't decided what we are going to do and when we are going to do it.

A lot depends on how tired we are ;)

We have been in early January before and it was never busy. Of course, I don't think we were ever there during marathon time, so I don't know what kind of affect that has on things.

The first time I went near Mission Space, I didn't go on the ride, only did the pre-ride stuff (my daughter and niece rode the ride). The next time, I did the pre-ride stuff and ALSO went on the ride (by myself, since hubby does not do those kinds of rides ;) )

I survived to tell the tale :p I can't say that I loved the ride but I didn't get sick on it. I was kind of sitting there thinking, I hope this is over soon though :rotfl:

Make sure that if you do go on it, look straight ahead at all times. I think the warning have some merit to them. :earboy2:

Hope you all had a great weekend. I spent it doing a bunch of stuff for my church, which is fine and all, but I did not get my Christmas cards, wrapping and last bit of shopping done. I have a list of stuff to do a mile long before Christmas and vacation. Then I said friends could visit the Saturday after we get back, so I've added house cleaning to my list so its not so daunting after vacation. My former boss used to tell me "Your greatest strength is your greatest weakness," meaning I say yes to too much. She was right, and now I am up to my "ears" :earsgirl: in commitments!!

But with Christmas and vacation to look forward to, all will be well! :Pinkbounc

Joy Crazy, glad to hear you are feeling better too. I can relate - I've had a cough for three weeks that they say is viral. It had better be gone by Jan. 7!

We're planning to be at Epcot for EMH on Jan. 13, so I'm also hoping crowds are lighter. I was a bit leary about Mission Space during our first trip, since I usually get queasy on spinning rides. I kept looking straight ahead and actually enjoyed it. Funny story - When we came out of the ride DH had all this white gunk all over his pants. We realized the clip-on sunscreen on his belt had burst during the "spin cycle" and it was everywhere! :rotfl: That was fun to clean up.

You people make me sick! I have yet to finish my christmas cards let alone track down addresses. I much rather spend my time searching these boards!

Yes, we have our plan for the Disney World portion of our trip all mapped out. Friday night we are avoiding EPCOT. Yes, the half marathon people will be trying to go to bed around 9:00. But the full marathon isn't until Sunday. Plus if they brought family members, they don't need to go to bed early. We're planning on staying out later than my DH both Friday and Saturday nights. Last year they just started the evening EMH so I don't think people knew to take advantage of them or already made their plans and didn't change them. I've heard the EMH are really crowded in the evenings, so we are not going to any of them. On Friday, we are going to MGM and doing the Fantasmic Dinner package at the Hollywood Brown Derby. I hope it is as yummy as the reviews have been! We are going to EPCOT on Saturday, when it will probably be crowded as well due to the runners. Branv - I hope you have short lines and can enjoy it. I think this January is a little unpredictable as far as crowd levels.

Time to email our builder and find out the latest news...Happy Monday everyone!

:wave2: Hi everyone.....Just think in just two weeks, 15 days.....Christmas will be over. We just have to hang in there until then. As soon as my list seems to be completed it seems like more gets added to it...so it will never be done. :confused3

I still have not started packing. I always have things together by now for a big vacation. I think that's the thing that is causing most of my stress. So I really need to start today!!!!!!

I wonder when our cruise docs will actually be sent out?? That's seems to be the next thing we can all obess about. :rotfl:

We certainly enjoyed our meal at Brown Derby. It was the only serene, quiet dinner we had our entire last trip, and the service was amazing. The steaks were yummy, though I'm pretty sure they were Choice not Primse cuts, but still good (and cooked like we ordered them). My only thing is...and I'm fully prepared to be cast down as a heretic...I didn't get the hooplah about the Grapefruit Cake. Now I understand that sometimes, well pastry is just iffy. There's every possibility that the one day we had it, was just an off day. But it just tasted like plain ol' white cake to me. Dunno...

Course I was violently ill that night from a relapse in food poisoning (not from the BB!), so that was a bit of a waste of $80. :teeth:

There's a posting over on the Restaurants board...I think it says something like "10 Days of Disney Dining", or something similar. She has pics and review of her meal at BB. The dessert looks mmmmmmmmmmmmgood!

I've always wondered how people do this, I don't have nearly enough clothes to pack a weeks worth away and not touch it :rotfl: All I'd have left to wear would be pajamas, a slip, mebbe some old bridesmaids dresses I've been forced to wear, and one of my pile of really ugly shirts my mother keeps giving me for Christmas (I'm waiting to donate them until I can be sure she will have forgotten about them ;) )

:rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: You are so funny!!!! I actually have the opposite problem....too many clothes. It makes it hard for a clothes horse like me to pack. :rotfl:

It doesn't really take me very long to pack at all, usually.

This time might be a little harder because it is two vacations in one. I am packing one bag for the cruise and one for the other part of the vacation.

I usually will start to throw a few odds and ends together in one spot a few weeks ahead of time. Haven't started that yet this time though

I had picked up little things for our trip prior to our move into the rental from hell. Can I even imagine which box they are in now? Noooo! So after we are back from Disney, I will find all these goodies I have to keep my kids occupied on the drive down and back. That is if we ever move and I get to unpack boxes.

I did start throwing things I recently found into a box so that I don't forget them - disposable cameras for the girls, their autograph clipboards, our Disney ponchos, sunscreen, my new clothes that I bought just for this trip, etc. Now I just have to remember to pack it!

It will be harder to pack since I can't leave anything out since it is all a surprise. My oldest daughter (6) was begging me today about going to my brother's house for New Years. She is pretty upset with me since I told her we couldn't go. She can't understand why and I'm not about to tell her. I think once we pull up to Disney World, all will be forgiven.

Branv - Thanks for the tip on the BD post on the restaurant board. I think that will be a great choice for us...start us on the right path of eating before we board the ship. I will be bringing my big girl clothes!

That's true...now that we have our cabin assignments, so now we just have to wait on our docs!!!

attagirl-- I definitely think that Disney World will definitely get you off the hook!!

I'm thinking that we might get them sooner rather than later. I would think they would take into account the holidays and the lack of delivery services during part of that time :confused3

I'm not sure they think that much! I've read about people receiving their docs the day before they sail. But sometimes it's the TA's that hold them up. I know my TA likes to take time to look through all the docs to make sure they are correct. If he's really busy, or not in the office, it may take a couple days for him to get around to it. I imagine if we were leaving the next day, he'd do it quickly.

I am going on a cruise in Feb with my girlfriends and one of them mentioned having to wear a bathing suit in less than 2 months. Okay, I didn't even think about the bathing suit ramifications. I think I blocked any thoughts of having to wear one out of my mind. I was in denial. I've been telling myself each morning that TODAY is the day I start weight watchers...then I proceed to eat a whole box of cookies. I'm pathetic! But now I have less than 4 weeks until I must wear one. YIKES :earseek:
