Today was a GOOD vacation day. Finally booked my return airfare...I've been biting my nails, playing the odds trying to get a good price on our flight tickets. Achieved a really good rate from AUS-MCO, but nothing back. But this morning I finally got the rate I was hoping for, thank goodness! I was really starting to wonder if I was just going to have to choke it up.

Although to be honest, the thrill of the shopping bargain hunt is just as intoxicating as the trip itself. I know you planning junkies know what I mean.

Also bought my travel insurance today. Even though we have until 10/25 to cancel, this really makes it feel final and a done deal. Woo-hoo!!!

How about you guys, are you going with travel insurance?

Here's a stupid question btw: do these cabin doors not have peep holes? Didn't look like it on the pics, which seems odd, but thought I'd double check.

No peep holes on the cabin doors, which is indeed very strange.

I agree with you about the peep holes. The DH and I both thought it was a little strange that there wasn't any...Guess you just have to be careful!

I did include the travel insurance with my cruise when I booked thru DCL.

branv, I know exactly what you mean about not running unless you're being chased...LOL

I can't believe that there is only 101 days left until we board the ship...I am SOOOO very excited.

I also had a great vacation day!! I booked our airfare on Southwest Airlines. DH and I each have a free round trip ticket reward. So we are using it to fly to Orlando from Calif. Our round trip ticket for both of us was $20.00 to cover the taxes. Now you bargan hunters have to love that!
I've got a call into our TA to make final payment then we are good to go.
We did purchase trip ins. just in case, but there is no way we are going to miss that boat.

I am not an athletic person in the least. I don't think I could run to the mailbox without taking a water break...it's my DH who is the physically fit one.

As far as trip insurance goes...I always purchase it because of the kids. I get it when we are traveling withand without them. You never know when someone is going to get sick whether it's the kids or whoever is going to take care of them. I'd rather spend a little bit of money more than risk losing a whole bunch! But with that said, I do not purchase my insurance through Disney, RCL, etc. I always buy it from my TA. IMO his prices are better and actually cover a bit more.

I am really hoping for you guys to get an upgrade. I seriously doubt that we will since I picked my room when we booked...I was afraid that we would get stuck with one of the solid verandahs again, so I went ahead and picked our room. I think I read somewhere that most of the time when you pick your room that your less likely to get upgraded, which makes sense...So I am going to send my pixie dust y'alls way in hopes that you'll get a wonderful surprise!

We only booked Category 12's. We have never stayed in Cat 12 before but we don't spend much time in the cabin.

We were hoping for an upgrade but we don't care if it doesn't happen.

Our cruise has been paid in full for quite a while now.

Do you think that will help with the upgrade Probably not.

We'll also be on the cruise. We're doing five days at the World before the cruise. It'll be us sisters and my niece(8) and nephew(7). We're from Alberta, Canada. This will be our first flight, first trip out of country, and our first cruise. We are beyond excited. Because we''ve never travelled before we used a TA (actually 3 - first one quit, 2nd was temporary, and haven't even met our 3rd one yet) hoping they'll less snags that way. CMA (AMA in the states) is fantastic though so should be smooth sailing
It's getting cold up here already so we'll be glad to shed some layers in January.

Errr...not I. You know what they say about chaos theory: a butterfly in Boise flaps its wings and it results in a typhoon in Taiwan? I've got chaos theory running all over the place, one Snickers and I've got a violent explosion in the thighs Two words: lost...cause. Bring on the Chocolate Souffle!

As much fun as an upgrade would be, I am perfectly happy to be in cat 12. I sense trouble brewing on the main cruise board with all the questions and posts of late about upgrades...I think plenty of those people are setting themselves up for a fall. Alas...it's the towel animal expectation all over again I'd be happy in a broom closet as long as I get to take this vacation!

Although I would like to add that while yesterday they were opened up through cat 11, today they EVEN are open through cat 12 It's lookin' good, it's lookin' reeeeal good (When you consider that there are only 12-Cat 12's, and I know for sure at least 4 of them are accounted for on this board alone...) Either way, of course an emptier boat also means better availability to Palo, so, woo-hoo!

Interesting about the different cat. they're opening up. We also booked a Cat 12 and even if we don't get upgraded...there will still be plenty of Disney Magic on board.

I am also perfectly happy with any cabin at all, that is why we booked the Cat 12's. I wouldn't turn down a better cabin if they offered it either . I also agree that anywhere is fine, just as long as I'm on that ship

With so many of us here booked in Cat 12's I'm thinking that at least SOME of us should get upgrades.

As to the weight loss question, yes I will try to continue my downward trend but I'm not going to obsess about it. I went on the last DCL cruise and didn't gain any weight, eventhough I ate whatever I wanted to. Just walked the stairs a lot to compensate for it.

Yes, taking the stairs. One thing I will not do on vacation is actually visit the gym. I'll will walk and walk but on vacation I really forget my daily excercise routine. In the meantime, I will continue to do my daily workout M-F. But forget it on vacation. My "excercise" will relaxing in a lounge chair, getting some sun, and reading a book. Oh... I forgot reaching for the tropical drink will be my upper arm workout.
