January 8, 2005 Magic Cruise - Let's Get Ready to Cruise!

Luckey,
Do you miss working with kids? It sounds like your a very busy woman! I love my job!! My brother lives in Henderson and seems to really like it out there.

What is the weather usually like in January? It seems like it might be a little chilly when you swim.

Has anybody ever switched cabins at the 60 day mark? We called DCL last night and they said all of the cat. 6 were booked. Going to call our ta and see if its possibleto cahange. We booked 6612 and 6614 because they are connecting rooms but my dwf is not going now, so we are open to any cat. 6.

Thanks, Chris

Yes, I did take pictures. Let's see if I can post the link. Those pictures of the landscape with the sunset are of Enders Island, a retreat on the shoreline.

Forgot to mention, just booked at Wilderness Lodge for two nights after the cruise.:Pinkbounc

Musicdude : I do miss working with the kids but I volunteer often at my DD school and travel with her skate team to out of state competitons. I live just outside of Henerson. We like it alot here but I miss my So. Cal beaches and life style.:smooth: I just bought a spring suit (wet suit) at sams club for my DD just in case the water is on the chilly side, they were clearing them out so it was a steal for $8.00 !

:Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc Hi everyone, sorry I was lost in "cyberspace"!!!!!! I don't know what I did but I did something. Anyway, it is so great to know a little about everyone. Up until June I was a legal assistant at a title company in Providence but took the summer off to be with my DS age 5. Over the summer the national company took over our office and downsized so needless to say I am now on the job hunt. I am trying to be positive about it though, the job was very flexible which is great when you have a child but it was boring. So now I am looking for something that will be fun. My DH is in construction and our son is just entering kindergarten at the Montessori School. Of course the any interviews I go on I will have to tell them that I am taking eleven days off in January. Oh well.

Lisa the photo's of Mystic are great. We just love it there. My DS especially loves the toy store!!!!! We spent 4th of July and Labor Day there a few years ago it was so much fun. We usually travel to NH for Labor Day to Loon Mountain area but this year we are really just saving for our January vacation. Looking forward to meeting everyone, talk to you soon.

Marylee

Luckey,
It takes too much time to get my chops up to play something good. I will be there to watch though and maybe my ds will do his karate thing or something.

What does everyone do for fun? I love to play on my boat and jet skis. Having the summer off is great togo to the lake.

Thanks, Chris:thewave:

When we can not go to WDW my DW and I love to come to Camp Heart O' Hills. It is a Salvation Army camp ground in Welling, OK (just outside Tallequah the Western Cherokee tribe's capital). It is the foothills of the Ozarks. We have a nice river for rafting and other fun things.

The best thing is we just installed high-speed wireless internet and I am writing this from the camp. So I can relax and surf!

I hope everyone has a great Labor Day weekend

Hey everyone: Now's a great time to buy things for the cruise now that summer is over. I just picked up a soft sided cooler at the local pharmacy for $5.00. My husband asks why are you buying things now? And I tell him you try and find water shoes in JANUARY.

I can't wait until the cruise!!!
Luckey

For those of you who have cruised DCL before, what is the likelyhood that CC will be up and running by the time we cruise in January? I'm considering moving my reservation to another date.

Luckey

From what I have read when a hurricane hit Castaway Cay before, the island was reopened in about a month.

Guess it would depend on what damage Castaway Cay encountered.

Musicdude,

I thought maybe we had something in common when I first read your name. :)

I'm the Director of Music and Worship Arts at a good sized United Methodist Church. I direct an instrumental ensemble as well as 4 choral groups. We have 11 musical groups altogether in our program.

My DH is a non-news Video Editor at a CBS/UPN affiliate TV station and is also a great bass...thus the name sopandbass, since I sing soprano.

Our DD4 is in Kindermusik class and is begging to take violin.

What a fun idea to get to know each other even better before our cruise. Maybe we should all form a musical group when we get there. :o heheh

We can't wait to meet all of you!

Sopandbass,

Thats a great idea! I love what I do and I'm sure you do to because music is such a gift to be able to share.

I feel a little selfish talking about our cruise with the hurricanes and everything going on. Anybody else feel that way? Worried if Castaway Cay will be ready for us and people have lost everything, (not talking about you Luckey because I thought the samething) it just kind of puts things in perspective. I pray everyone is okay down there.

Chris

:wave2: Musicdude, I feel the same way I really haven't been on this board a lot this week I just feel too bad for the people who are cruising this week. When I do look its because I need a little lighthearted moment. Its hard to think of Disney and the cruise when you know people are having such a hard time. I hope the best for them all too. I just looked at the Accuweather site for Hurricane Ivan and I have to say the projected path did not look too good.

Take care Floridians.

I know what you mean, Marylee. I can't believe the people of FL are facing another possible hurricane. How much can they endure? One can only hope that Ivan blows out to sea.

Staci: I passed through your town tonight on my way to Dallas. My DS and I leave early in the AM for WDW. We are there until Sunday then drive to Atlanta for a conference then return to WDW for about 4 days. I'll return through your town again on Sunday week. I'll try to wave.

:smooth: Oh my God I cannot believe it is seventeen weeks so its like only fifteen till the holidays. That's about 105 shopping days till Christmas. Oh no I don't think I can take this stress!!!!! Only kidding for once I am actually looking forward to the holidays because my WDW vacation and my DCL vacation are coming nine days after Christmas. Yippee!!!!!!!

Get ready to do your happy dance, Musicdude, only 16 weeks to go!
