about our DISmeets:

As I continue down my journey of volunteering (getting people together for a meet & greet) for this, I have noticed that approx 2 stateroom cabins have expressed interest in some sort of a DISmeets; currently set at Embarkation day in the Promenade lounge at approx 2:30pm ish to approx 3:30pm. Um......well - I need to ask everyone if this sounds ok and or if not, what other/additional suggestions do you have?
Reason why I ask is I am attempting to help drum up support for this as I feel some of us would like the oportunity to "put a name to a face" via some sort of a Meet & Greet.

So to all who would like or have expressed an intererst earlier, can ya please do us a big favor and send us a quick posting on our thread?????

this way, we can all get a general idea of if this M&G is something that is do-able or not. It would be nice if it is but hey, i am just a volunteer.

I understand I can try to book this at the 90 day mark - There can be up to 10 people at the cabana - we are 4 - you are 3 (I think).

The cost is $499.00 for the first 6 and then I think $50.00 per person for more than 6.

It may be a bit less on the adult beach vs the family beach

Like I said never done this but it seems like a coolio idea to me......

As the original poster to this thread, it breaks my heart to have to say this, but we have to move our cruise from January to March!

I have been officially given permission to begin writing my thesis/dissertation (which is definitely a good thing ) but the timing means that January is just about the worst possible time to take time off!

The beach excursion at Grand Cayman is sold out and the beach excursion at Cozumel is more than I want to spend for a family of 4. Has anyone ever been on the Western before and went to the beach on their own?

WOW! What a wacky last few days it has been- but I am back everyone.

**** DISMEETS UPDATE *****

It is all set for:

date: day of embarkation day.
Where: Promennade Lounge.

Promenade Lounge is a 104-seat lounge located on Deck 3, Aft situated off the elevator lobby on the Disney Magic. Open from approximately noon to midnight daily, Promenade Lounge is the perfect place for families to enjoy a refreshing beverage or snack, surf the Internet or partake in fun activities that occur throughout the day.

TIME:

The overall opinion is to have a rolling" DISmeets; meaning say around 2:3opm ish until about 3;30pm - this way, people can come and go and not feel pinned in to a specific time (like 3-3:30pm). And yes, I feel the "Adventures Away" party kicks in at 4:30pm (right after the boat drill).


ALSO - to those who would like to engage in a little bit of Disney pin trading during this time, feel free to bring a few pins as this is also a wonderful way to inneract with your fellow DISser.


ANYWHO -



Also, should anyone of you have to drop out of our cruise, please be kind & let me know so I can have an updated list as much as possible as my intention is to just have some DISney fun on this adventure and enjoy heading out to Key West for the very first time (I am a Jimmy Buffett nut), etc.

I am in the middle of my diet for my upcoming Hawaii adventure (see below trip report) but once I return, ANYONE who wants to join the ranks of being each others encourager and what not (list the pounds we have lost??), etc - feel free to post cuz I have got to return to dieting once again starting November 5th. I have ONLY lost 9 lbs and rreeaallyy miss my four legged diet partner.


Will post pictures (HOPEFULLY) once I land my "four legged dieting partner and family member" but that dang word has to rule here:
