January 4, 2003!!!!

We had a clinic visit today and Dani's counts have been low for long enough that they feel she needs to have a bone marrow biopsy to rule out relapse. It is scheduled for Thursday, with results due Friday.

Since we are planning on leaving Dec 30 to visit my brother in Georgia, we are hoping for good news and clear sailing. We would appreciate any positive thoughts/prayers you can spare. Monday seemed like a long ways away this morning, now Friday seems like an eternity to wait.

Sorry to post such a bummer, I'm just kinda down right now. If anyone is interested, Dani's website is at http://www.caringbridge.com/ia/danisdiary

Oh, Laura, our hearts and prayesr are with you, your family and your precious Dani. We're all rooting for you, and we look forward to hearing the GOOD news on Friday!

Laura, sending prayers and pixie dust to you and Dani. I'm just about to tuck Rachel in to bed and we always say prayers then, we will definitely be including your family in our prayers tonight.

Jocelyn is 7, also a Brownie, and she loves performing--does youth theater every fall. The only problem is, her Brownie leaders (me and another woman) can't sing a note, so singing is not a huge part of our Brownie troop! We do a little, though, and Jocelyn loves to sing, so a couple rehearsals would probably be plenty for her. Jocelyn can't wait to go (me too!), and would love to meet other girls her age. I'm probably teach her to pm other people after we get through Christmas Day.

Laura, you and your family will be in my thoughts this holiday season. I sure hope that things go well, and that you will have the best trip ever! I know i live a couple hours away, but if there is ever anything you need or that i can do to help, please let me know.

Do you come to Iowa City University Hospitals and Clinics? I am just twenty minutes away from there, so if that is where you go, let me know if i can do anything for you at all!

Take care,
Sue

Thoughts and prayers lifted up for Dani. I look forward to seeing you all onboard. Let us know how you make out on Friday. We will be waiting to hear. Please don't give a second thought to sharing your concerns. We want to help when we can, even if it is long distance. DISer's are not fair-weather "friends".

I got them...wahoo:bounce: :Pinkbounc We made final payment/booked Thursday and I already have my doc's. Thanks, DCL & DU! I thought I would have to pick them up at the pier. And my upgrade is official cat 11 guar to cat 10 on deck 7! This is the Best Christmas Present!!!

Merry Christmas to everyone and Laura my prayers are with you and your family.

We have been so busy and have not had a chance to keep up with the boards, and I just checked in briefly this morning to see what the thread was doing, not meaning to take the time to post... but Laura, you and your whole family (especially Dani) are in my thoughts. I'm sending lots of good wishes and pixie dust your way. Please let us know how things go and we WILL see you on the Magic! (power of positive thinking!)

Lisa

I made my run to the drugstore and stocked up. Probably spent my excursion money on immodium and pepto-bismal.

MERRY CHRISTMAS!!

To all the Dis family. Merry Christmas! May we all remember the reason we celebrate Christmas this year!

Laura, your family is in our prayers.

Lynda

Hope everyone's holiday was Magical!!!!! Now that Christmas is over I can really start concentrating on the cruise. We leave a week from Friday and the kids have already started sorting out their warm weather clothes (this is right after they took off their snow soaked cold weather gear after shoveling 9 inches off the drive-way.....I told them this week we are shoveling snow...next week we will be shoveling sand!!! That really got them motivated!!!!

MJ

I spent yesterday afternoon packing!!! I just couldn't wait anymore--I had said I had to get through Christmas first. We got over 2 feet of snow, so we stayed home, MIL stayed away, the kids played nicely--the trifecta! Anyway, I'm worried about forgetting something, and it's not like we're wearing shorts these days anyway, so I started 4 suitcases. Desperately in need of a life, I guess!

I hope everyone had a wonderful holiday. Dani's mom, good luck today, you're in our thoughts and prayers.

Has anyone heard from Fawn? Just curious, and I know Shirley asked this a couple of weeks ago, and there was at least one person on this thread who was trying to contact her by phone.

Hi Everyone! I'm back! I am SO sorry for worrying some of you! We're still getting married, still getting on the cruise, still taking the five youngest with us! Candy, I'm sorry for not returning your phone call in early December...one of the kids erased the message and your number!!

Well, where to start? Around Thanksgiving, I realized I was not getting done what I needed to for the holidays, wedding and cruise. So I grounded myself from the puter until I got caught up. Never feel you are so busy it can't get busier...because it did!

I had 14 for dinner Thanksgiving...extras always seem to show up at the last minute. It was lovely, tho. Then I took my two youngest to the outlets for a few days to get some Christmas shopping done. Thought I was getting caught up a little??

First week in December, one of my daughters-to-be asked if she could move in with me before the wedding. Of course, I was thrilled and said yes...she is a darling girl! That required redoing a back bedroom...paint, carpet, furniture, curtains...we're still not quite there, but close. I'm not even going to stress over the fact that Ernie and I haven't even started buying furniture for our bedroom! :(

Around then, Freddie called. They may not be getting home in time from their six-month deployment for the New Year. They've been told that with everything going on, it may be extended for several months! Add on some worry to the back burner.

At that point, I still did not have a wedding dress!! I'm thinking I better get moving. So move I did...right down the stairs on my backside! Besides some broken nails and bruised arms and legs, I severely bruised my tailbone. I think I would have rather broken a leg! Sitting was impossible for a couple of weeks, and driving in a car was torture. Ever try to chase a two-year old down when every step sends shock waves up your spine! :Pinkbounc But onward we must go, and so we did.

I got a dress two weeks ago, thank goodness. Found out that two of the kids were bringing extra people for Christmas, so did a little more shopping. Made it to the Christmas Party at Ernie's work (Philly Zoo)! My family came out last weekend for our Christmas day, and my sister gave me a surprise Bridal Shower! :sunny:

Last week, I thought I may make it...things were slowing down. We even got a chance to start trying on summer clothes. OH NO. :earseek: My girls have grown...and that is an understatement. The clothes I bought at the end of the summer in anticipation of the cruise are TOO SMALL! I've told them to leave the miracle grow alone, but noooo...who listens to Mom!

Add on to that homeschooling, one National karate tournament, one Karate testing (Ashleigh won an award and both girls broke their boards!), trying to start packing up Ernie's apartment a little, eye infections in both dogs, and cold's for everyone...well, you get the picture!

Dresses are fitted, Freddie got home on the 20th (prayers answered), tuxes ordered, tickets in hand, and presents wrapped and opened. We had 15 yesterday, and it was wonderful to see our "new family" sitting around enjoying each other. Somehow it makes every second of panic totally worth it!

SO...I'm back, and getting married in 8 days!! To repeat the invite, anyone who will be at the Radisson Friday night at 6 pm is welcome to join us for the nuptials. We are getting married at a nearby park, so you will need a car. Shirley is still marrying us...she is SO wonderful and you can't imagine all that her and Norm have been doing for us!

Again, I'm sorry for any worry...and thrilled to see our little crowd is growing! Where and when exactly are any get togethers...I'm a little confused! Can't wait to meet you all!!!

Good morning and Merry Christmas (late) all!!

Dani's Mom - please keep us updated! We're all thinking and praying for you and yours!

I started my 'to-be-packed' box yesterday! YEA! Suntan lotion, clothes steamer and camera already in there!

:earseek: I fly out a week from tomorrow!! And it can't get here fast enough!

Fawn!!!

Thanks for checking in. I, for one, was one of the folks who was greatly concerned by your long absence from the boards. Hate to say it, but I was fearing the worst. Glad to hear you have things (reasonably) in order. Sorry to hear that one of your brood might not be able to make it. Have a great time!

(And give Shirley a hug for me!)

Fawn,
Thanks for taking the time to PM me!;) I am glad that all is going well with you now and I wish you a MAGICal wedding! I'll be looking forward to hearing how your family enjoys the trip.
CONGRATULATIONS (a little bit early;) ).

Wishing you a beautiful day filled with :sunny: !

wow fawn.....and I thought I had a busy few months...you got us all beat by a mile!!!!

Glad things are slowing down for you and can't wait to meet you on the cruise (might not be around by 6:00) for the festivities.

MJ

Fawn, I sure am glad to hear that you are still going and getting ready for your trip. I for one would love to meet you at the Radisson. Are you going to meet in the lobby, and then head over to the park when it is time?

take care, and hope things can calm down a little before your big day!
