January 29, 2011 - 7 Day Eastern - WOOHOO!!

POLL - St Thomas Activities

1. Who has booked a DCL or non-DCL Excursion? If yes - which one?

2. Who is just hanging out a beaches? If so - which one is the plan or is it still TBD?

I think just whatever as we cant come to the same decision on the excursions....:rotfl:

Hubby wanted to buy new luggage, so we got 2 new suitcases yesterday that will match the little one we already had. Got all the non clothing items out of the corner of my bedroom that I read on the disboards that are a must. I am sure I am forgetting something. Got them all organized & in the suit cases. Started thinking about what I need to take & ended up packing! I had a TON of clothes & did what I read and put half of them back. Have detergent samples with me so if I need to do laundry I can. Makes it real easy packing since I'm packing Summer clothes in January when I live in Michigan. :rotfl:
DS is half packed & I still have to hem his khaki's.
Have a ton of laundry to fold & more to do, but after grocery shopping all I seem to do is be on the DIS boards. Next week & a half will go by really slow...

We told you the dis was evil....:rotfl2:

That is good advice about packing. I try to pack just for the days. I used to think what if they spill, what if I spill something. Now it is a shirt a day, shorts I can get away with wearing a couple days at home I am sure I can do that there too.

People like the over the door shoe holder thing to hold small stuff but I don't carry that much and what I do I can fit on the bathroom shelves.

Do take a few ziploc bags, large one for kids glitter art that they do in the clubs to bring home. Small ones to save cookies or other snacks you might pick up and want to save. Big ones are good for saving the navigators in too to bring home.

People say they need a power bar but but we never use one of those either. We don't have to charge games etc. to charge other might with all those kindle and things out there.

POLL = Pirate Night:

1. How many people are dressing up their kids for Pirate Night? Meaning - dressing them into Pirate Costumes?

2. How many adults are dressing up as Pirates for Pirate Night?

I picked up a bunch of stuff after Halloween that we will be wearing, hats and eye patches mostly.

Nothing planned. Beaching most of the time with a little shopping thrown in.

Thanks, that's what I was thinking too. We are bringing the shoe holder & power bar. Could of used a power bar when we went to DC last summer. I think we will keep it in our suitcase for now on. I do have a few ziploc bags but after reading your idea's I think I need more. Thanks! :worship:

Yeah nothing like getting glitter all over your clothes. They do a lot of art type stuff in the clubs.

I know you can order room service but once and awhile I will take cookies from the buffet for later..... Might even take them into the movie theater to eat....:rolleyes1 They sell candy outside the both theaters but why pay. I have even got french fries up by the pool and put them in a drink cup for a snack there or if you have to be healthy there is lots of fresh cut up fruit next to the soft serve ice cream by the mickey pool.

Is there a microwave anywhere that is accessible? Was wondering about packages of microwave popcorn. Didn't know if maybe near the drink station.

Good to know! Thanks for the info! :rotfl2:

I do not remember seeing any microwaves anywhere. Don't think there is one.

The drink station is just drinks, soda, coffee, tea, hot chocolate. It is also just outside of Topsiders buffet resturant or beside the kids mickey pool in the corner. So it is a hike to the drink station for some.

Someone on the forum mentioned bringing a to go tray from Mc Donalds to bring the drinks down to the room if they were doing it by themselves. I would not have thought of that....but I don't like packing to much stuff either. We usually go as a whole family up to get drinks. It is my vacation after all I am not their servant. :lmao:

Where can I find this MUST PACK list?????

There are several posts about what to pack, but you may want to look at these two: "What did you wish you had packed?" and "Top 10 things to bring for your stateroom". You can search them in the DCL Forums. I am very new to all of this, but hopefully this helps.

Everyone pray for DD#2. She is trying to cut her 2nd tooth and I'm thinking may have gotten an ear infection or something in the process. It has been a longggg couple of days. I'm hoping that she doesn't get any more after this one until after the cruise! Also, I'm so thankful that we all have colds now...they should all be gone by the 29th!
