January 29, 2011 - 7 Day Eastern - WOOHOO!!

Show up late without kids - little rushed, but still get off shoes, throw bag on belt - run to gate. With kids - TOTAL CHAOS - get off 5 pairs of shoes, try and keep eye on toddler while carrying baby, and collapsing stroller, diaper bag, toy bag, car seat, etc to load on belt. Grab two kds, scream at third to run and help, pushing stroller ladenned with too much stuff and try and drag/run everything to gate.:rotfl:

Thank you for the good chuckle....I needed that this morning!!

Thanks to everyone for the good words :banana:Ive lost 2more lbs so only 16 to go :rotfl2:we will be at the port around 12:00 and my DW will have on a large black hat :cool1:Hope to meet everyone:cheer2:

But you will be kid-free so it doesn't matter!!!

isn't it funny how your sense of time changes when you have kids?? Without kids - show up at airport too early - no problem just pull out book and read. With kids - anxiously watch clock because keeping toddlers entertained for an additional hour before an hours long flight is stressful. And simply keeping an eye on 3 kids at once is impossible so fears of loosing child in airport make time crawl by.

When DH and I travel alone, we feel young again as we can fit everything we need into a rolling carryon, or better yet, check one bag and carry nothing on board but a purse and a book. With kids, I always feel like a travelling caravan. And we really only add a stroller, car seat and diaper bag and two oldest carry back packs, but it seems like I get to schlep everything!!!

You are so funny.......we try and travel when we can so we did the baby seat/diapers/stroller thing way too often. When Avery (our youngest) was 4 we travelled to WDW. it was so nice not having all the baby "junk". That was the trip that determined that we will NOT have more kids. We love them being babies - but I much prefer them being children. It is so much more relaxing now.

I dont know if people woudl like this idea or not - but maybe we can meet at one of the planned family activities - that way we get to know each other but its also a bit of fun. I looked at some recent Eastern Navigators - and here are a couple of activities that could work (I recognize that these might not be the same events still - we would have to reconfirm with more recent schedules) - I just want to know if people like this idea or not:

- Pictionary at 11:15
- Mr Toads Wild Race at 12:15
- Fun in the Sun at Goofs Pool at 1:15
- Family Magic Quest at 2pm

Sorry but I do not think this is a good idea just because you will be doing the activity with others and really would be interupting other passengers wanting to play not chat. It is usually only kids that show up for Mr Toads wild race... They wouldn't know what hit them with a big crowd showing up

Plus our group is too big .....I really prefer at the beginning of the cruise and then if you meet during the trip that is fine or run into each other but I do not want to impose on anyones vacation with there family.

Yeah I know but I still hate waiting...:lmao:

Oh god I remember 1998, we went to Florida with the 5 boys, my youngest was 16 mths, so he was free. So we flew from Toronto. On the way home we were at the airport 5 hrs early because I had to get that bulk head seat with my very active 16 mth old and no seat.......:scared1: So the boys entertain him for a while, until they get bored then we go through all the usual, oh yeah we were first in line...:thumbsup2. So I get the bulk head... and give Jordan (16mth) my seat cuz by then he is pretty mellow and wants to listen to his brothers disman...so he is a prince the whole trip so are the rest of them...I sit on the floor basically. Now DH is another story...he was terrified of flying back then (now he is just scared) so he did not budget from his seat so I did all the taking care of the boys....at the end of the flight a handful of people came over to me and complimented me on how well my boys behaved and how good I had things under control.....so when we were walking out my dh says to me ..... and they were probably saying "And you sir were a pure *****"....he sat glued to his chair didnt talk didnt move.....my then 7 yr old said..."Dad you can open your eyes now" and you could hear chuckles from people around us......Oh god what a trip...oh yeah and to boot we flew through a hurricane in the Carolinas.........:scared1:

Wow - you must be a very patient Mom - and congrats on having well behaved children - that doesnt happen by accident - it happens through lots of hard work by parents!

Hi!!! Does that include parking for the time you are there? I wouldnt mind trying priceline and this would be the perfect time for just one night.

The hotel we ended up getting does not include parking but it is only $7 a day so no biggie really

Ok, so I figured I am on holidays and I splurged and booked a pedicure appointment for the Sunday at 12:10pm. After spending 4 days on foot at WDW I deserve this!! Surprisingly there are lots of openings at the spa, I was pleasantly surprised!

Three weeks from RIGHT NOW many of us will be checking in at the port and waiting to board!! :cool1:

Can't wait!

We're starting to get REALLY excited! Tomorrow is packing day!

I've been out buying new clothes today, none of my old ones fit, which I guess is good. DD also jumped a size in shoes overnight, thought I was going to have to take her to the store without shoes because I couldn't get any of them on her feet! :scared1:

How exicting!!!

Have the last family get together in a few hours at our place. Tomorrow the decorations come done. Hubby will be gone for the week on business. :sad2:
Then next weekend starts the packing & getting things we need. :woohoo:
I already have a pile in the corner of my room with things to pack & a list of what we need on my phone. :rolleyes1
We decided to not plan anything on St. Thomas yet & we have one thing planned for St. Maarten. Will do some more research on both soon. :cutie:
Hubby keeps looking at the weather for Florida & the areas we will be traveling too. So far they are having really good weather & more to come in the 10 day forecast. Lets home that stays!

Not sure if you got my PM because you may not have enough posts to reply. Can you let me know???

Hope the preparations are going well for everyone!! I sorted through the DDs clothes today and put the piles on the spare bed. Thankfully, I didn't have to buy anything for the oldest since she can't seem to stop growing. Even her pirate shirt I made for the last cruise still fits.:banana:

DH will be back in the country on the 21st so I can pack then. Just back in from shovelling snow - will be looking forward when I'll be shovelling sand... ;)

Cheers,

Very cold here. Can't wait to be warm. We went shopping today. I think we have everything we need for trip. We have been been making progress with the fe exchange things. I just hope we have enough room to pack everything.

I realized today DS needs a new suit. Over Christmas I put on his shirt and it was suddenly too small, but I kept hoping maybe it shrunk??? Today, I put on his suit and it is too short and too snug....UUUUUGGGGHHHH. Wasn't planning on buying a new suit, but guess we are now!! Funny how stuff will fit them for a long time and then all of the sudden they just shoot out of it. :rotfl:

Im waiting for my hubby to try on his tux to see if it will still fit , he d better do it soon so just in case it doesmt fit I can starve him for a couple of weeks yet LOL:rotfl:
