But you will be kid-free so it doesn't matter!!!
isn't it funny how your sense of time changes when you have kids?? Without kids - show up at airport too early - no problem just pull out book and read. With kids - anxiously watch clock because keeping toddlers entertained for an additional hour before an hours long flight is stressful. And simply keeping an eye on 3 kids at once is impossible so fears of loosing child in airport make time crawl by.
Show up late without kids - little rushed, but still get off shoes, throw bag on belt - run to gate. With kids - TOTAL CHAOS - get off 5 pairs of shoes, try and keep eye on toddler while carrying baby, and collapsing stroller, diaper bag, toy bag, car seat, etc to load on belt. Grab two kds, scream at third to run and help, pushing stroller ladenned with too much stuff and try and drag/run everything to gate.
When DH and I travel alone, we feel young again as we can fit everything we need into a rolling carryon, or better yet, check one bag and carry nothing on board but a purse and a book. With kids, I always feel like a travelling caravan. And we really only add a stroller, car seat and diaper bag and two oldest carry back packs, but it seems like I get to schlep everything!!!
