Question for the veterans here.
We need to rent a car to get us from the airport to our hotel at the port and then once again need to rent after the cruise and for the remaining time we are there ( 4 days) Was hoping to get away with a full size car but with 5 of us and all our luggage I am not sure we can swing it. Also not sure if it is cheaper to rent the vehicle the whole time we are away or just for when we need it. Looking for our cheapest option. Anyone have any advice???

I am renting a car one way from Budget from port to Airport. I got an Escape SUV. Total with taxes was $68. I assume that is what you will pay going from port to MCO as well. You get the car for 24 hours for that price, so you might as well use it to get yourselves to port and then turn it in using the budget shuttle rather than riding a hotel shuttle. Budget offers a compimenatary shuttle to/from the port.

Considering that parking at port for our cruise will go up to $20 per day, I can't imagine that renting it and parking for a week at $140 will be cheaper. There might be parking options in conjunction with the hotel you are staying at in PC though, which would make renting for a week reasonable if you could rent and park for less than $135. Hope that helps!!

I think if you go to moussavers.com there is a code from Wal-Mart that you can use for the rental to get that price. I rented through USAA which is a military bank/insurance but checked all of the codes out and the wal-mart one was as good!!

I called the hotel and am assured free parking so that is not an issue. Just really worried about cramming all 3 kids and our luggage into a car but don't want to spend the $$$$ on a van LOL Think I am going to have to suck it up and get a van though...
Thanks!

You should be able to all fit in the Escape. Three adults can fit in the back seat and there should be enough room for luggage!

Does that mean the kids need to drive :dance3: LOL
this is an option for sure ( the Escape, not the kids driving) Just so worried there will not be enough room for all the luggage. My friend keeps telling me I will need to pack LOTS.

Pack and then take 1/2 out and you should be good. :lmao:

I used to really dress up for dinner but now I only do have Formal and Semi formal. The rest of the time I wear capris and a nice top. So it is really easy to mix and match . Plus not bringing alot of shoes for different outifits, they take a lot of room too. Heck if your going to spend a lot of time by the pool you don't need a lot of clothes.

Kids can dress causal for dinner too, heck have the time they ate and ran to the clubs or didn't come at all. The first time I cruised I bought outfit for day time and an outfit for dinner. Not anymore. Used to think , what if they spill on them selves...they have a laundry on the ship. Never had to use it either.

People suggest the over the door shoe thing for small things and extra bathroom stuff but we never needed it. There was enough bathroom shelves for us. I would suggest baggies though all sizes because they are good to put cookies in if you bring some down from the buffet for later instead of ordering room service , we did this with milk at breakfast too. Bigger bags are good to bring home all the crafts they make in the clubs. Lots of glitter I tell you. Or just to keep all your navigators in to bring home.

Hi my name is Avery - my Mom just told me that we are going on a Disney Cruise in January and I am very excited.

I am 8 years old but almost 9 - my birthday is in May.

Are there any girls my age that will be on the cruise? Would any of them like to talk to me on this DIS board so we can be friends when we get on the ship?

Sorry have not read thru yet so sorry if I have repeated what someone else said. I am renting from Alamo to get to the ship/hotel and then Budget coming back. There is no Alamo there but Enterprise will take Alamo's returns. Enterprise do not rent one ways from the PC location. I got econ for $33.60 from Alamo with code 299851 and econo from Budget for $35.00 with code Y973800. I got one for there and one back. Remember you will have to pay for parking for the 7/8 days you are on the cruise.:scared1:
