January 29, 2011 - 7 Day Eastern - WOOHOO!!

WARNING - dont look at the Navigotors too much or you will just want to get going even more than you already do.......I had to stop looking as its still 3 months away!! :scared::scared:

I agree with this totally. Not because it wants you to be there already but you want some surprised don't you.

This is a vacation you shouldn't plan every minute of every day, plus navigators can change , not so much the dinners or shows but what the kids do.

I have a dd that is 10 will be 11 in May. She too is shy.

I have 3 children and have read sooo much about these kids groups. My Hannah is 11.5 and would really enjoy these groups, I think, however, I think she will be a little intimidated without knowing anyone, since she is sooo shy....
does anybody have a daughter who wants to email my daughter and then hopefully if they "know" each other a little bit, hannah will feel like she has a friend and then maybe she will try the clubs..
if interested, please message me...
thanks so much
Lori

My interesting fact for the day.. according to cruise.com, as of right now (87 days out).. the following are still available:

11a: guar
9c: guar
9b: 7 cabins
9a: guar
6a: guar
5c: 1
cat T (3): 5!!

What does this mean?
1) The ship isn't 'quite' full yet but approaching... because I put in for 2 adults/2 kids and they still let me put in for a room that has kids (i.e. kids clubs aren't full) ... although the rooms that only fit '3' are taken because they drop out...
2) The veranda rooms are full and many people took advantage of the Kids Sail Free (me included)
3) You could snag a Cat 3 if you want (price is 9400, by the way, for 2a/2k).. even the sideways one!
4) When Florida resident rates open they're going to try to finish filling the ship

Palo is still available for dinner
Day 1: 6:30-8:30
Day 2: at sea: 6:30-7:00, 8:00-8:30
Day 3: at sea: 8:30
Day 4: St. Marten : 6:30-8:30
Day 5: St. T: 6:30-8:30
Day 6: at sea: 6:30-7:30, 8:30
Day 7: castaway: 6:00-8:30

Palo for tea is full
Palo for brunch is open:
Day 3: 11:30 only

From that I gather:
1) those of us who have sailed before have picked out our favorite things to do at certain times (brunch and palo, when at sea-- which is what i did) Day 3 at sea before the islands is the most popular for palo dinner (i think this also shows a lot of experienced cruisers imho)

2) You may actually see me at the port early trying to upgrade and snag one of those cat t's =) =)

Based on the navigators just recently posted, the "new" Villians show will be on pirate night. It will be a very busy night, this is always the night we book Palo as no show usually.

Are the days going unusually slow or is it just me?:confused3

thanks for the interesting info! This is all new to me. See you have a 9 yr old DS. We do too! :) He was pretty excited looking at the navigator seeing all the different activities on the ship!

Sounds like this cruise is going to be pretty full. I guess that means little room for pixie dust upgrades.

We sailed in Jan 2010 and it happened to be a week were there was a lot of snow all over the country and many couldn't make it to the ship so she sailed only 2/3 full. We drove from VA to FL and just missed the snow. Found out on the way to the ship somewhere around GA while driving that we were given a free upgrade for that cruise. It wasn't until we got on the ship and found out it was fairly empty. On the down side, it also happened to be the COLDEST cruise I have ever been on. It was snowing, yes snowing in PC when we left port. They were handing out hot chocolate and the poor crew members only had shorts to wear since it had never gotten that cold before. Everyone said it was a crazy, unusual, freak kind of thing so I'm not expecting it to happen again. It was so cold no one even went to Deck 9 until day 3! lol

I think we need to expect the Port to be cool.....I have been to Florida at that time of year before and we couldnt wear shorts as it was too cold.

But I think once we get out to sea it will be nice and warm

Lets hope so:cloud9:

WOO HOO - we just booked our flights.

We leave on Tuesday the 25th at 5pm out of Buffalo on Southwest.

We are spending Wednesday at Universal - never been there but extremely excited about Harry Potter. After a fun day, heading to my parents place in Okeechobee.

Spending Thurs and Fri with my parents - thats all I can take as their place is pretty small and my Mom chain smokes (Neither of us have ever smoked in our lives so it kind of gets to us after a while - my kids get really bothered as well).

Then we will head to the coast on Saturday morning.

We head home the following Saturday on the 11:50am flight to Buffalo on Southwest.

YEAH:cheer2::cheer2::cheer2::cheer2::cheer2::cheer2::cheer2::cheer2::cheer2:

Makes it feel so much closer when flights are booked. :cool1: Hope you have a great time at Harry Potter! Wish we had enough time to be able to go also, but it will have to be another time.

I hope we all have nice warm weather, never been at this time of year and hope it is not too cold... What is the water like? Freezing??

Oh I know it will be ,all our other cruises were at this time. I find the first night in the dining room to be cold as well , one time I was so cold the waiters gave me a table cloth to put on my shoulders and my dd because the air was on and it wasn't that warm out yet. Now I always to bring a a nice sweater with me , usually all I have is a sweat shirt. :thumbsup2

Last time we went in Dec. it was freezing when we got off the boat , that was 2 years ago. I was glad to have a winter stuff handy.

I notice you are from my area - we live just outside of Ft. Belvoir. We are hoping we don't get the snow we had last year!! Right now, we aren't coming down until the morning of our cruise (flying direct out of Reagan). But I plan on watching the weather closely and if it looks like it will be snowing at all, I am going to either change our flights to earlier, or jump in the car or on the train so we don't miss our cruise!! I can't "plan" on leaving on Friday (or earlier) because I don't want my son to miss that much school - right now he is only missing 3 days because it is tied to a teacher work day. But, if the weather looks bad, we'll be loading up Thursday night for the drive down!!

When I was in college, my parents took us on a Disney trip and cruise. At that time, it was "the big red boat". We left Spokane, WA and it was 35 and arrived in Orlando and it was in the 20s. It was the same - not enough blankets, no heat on the ship, etc. I think it is about once every 20 years or so it gets that cold!!!
