I'm cruise sick too! Man these things are addictive! :rotfl: Can't believe we have to wait until next January to go on another cruise! :scared1:

DH and I are cruising again by ourselves in November. WE had planned it about a month before our Disney cruise so at least we had that to look forward too when we had to fly home!!! November is still a LOOOOOOOOOOONG way off.

Yeah but it's better than January!!!

I think my 9 yr DS would be devastated if we went on a cruise without him. :rotfl:

WHAT...no inlaws........:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

:rotfl: My husband started anticipating that our Disney cruise wouldn't be relaxing for me....so he suggested we book something just for us!!! We got a super good deal on a NCL cruise out of Miami.

We try and get away on our own every couple of years. We don't have any family nearby so we have to fly my inlaws in to take care of the kids. The last couple of trips we tied in with work (mine - figures) DH came with me to Hawaii. Kind of sucked heading off to meetings in a suit while he was heading to the beach to take a surfing lesson!!! Although I did have quite a bit of time off to spend with him and I had been to Hawaii before so had seen most everything I wanted to see.

I am going to Paris for work the end of May and he wanted to cancel our cruise and come along on that....I said NO WAY!! I want an actual vacation for me too!!! And since I am leaving him home with the kids so I don't worry as much, I am adding an extra day on either end of the meeting to do a little sight seeing!!

WOW!!! Lucky you! Have a great time on your cruise and in Paris!!!

We decided we are going to try the May 3,2012 3 night on the Dream-concierge level! Trying to get the Dreams Unlmited page to work and then get the quote==but from what I say on DCL's site directly, it looks good. :)

No kids, so big splurge. But i figure this should give us the best possible way of redeeming our previous cruise. :P

That will be really nice for you. I know what you mean about splurging. NCL has some phenominal suites and I considered booking one of those for our alone cruise. I decided to splurge on extras instead - excursions and spa treatments!!!

Is Meredith feeling better? Jake is finally almost himself. He wasn't doing well on the antibiotics and once we were finally through with those, he was able to start eating again so he is feeling better. It just stinks when your kids are sick!!!

Our cruise left kind of a bad taste in our mouth for Disney for awhile. We are going to wait until 2013. Unless of course they decide to position a boat in NY in summer 2012. If we could get a good price, we might reconsider. Right now I am planning on trying Carnival out of NY going North to Canada in August 2012, but if Disney were to offer a similar trip, I might try them again!!! If we don't have to pay for airfare or travel to florida, we can afford to spend more on the cruise:dance3:

Meredith is pretty much back to herself, though we had a backslide with the potty trained part of things. I need to get some weight on her. She's super skinny now and lost her little booty.

I had to promise Chris that I won't obsess over the next cruise and talk about it all the time because I think he feels bad that He doesn't want to see me so dissapointed again. It's funny I feel like we were on a totally different cruise than the rest of the boat. Which I know isn't
true, I've heard of a few people (like you) who had similiar experiences.

Glad Meredith is better. I found with my first that lots of little things will set them back a little. I was so worried with my first about sleeping in the crib/sleeping through the night/walking/weaning/potty training. With my second, I realized they will eventually do it all just fine and even if they do it all, illnesses/vacations/business trips set it all back. I didn't push her to do anything and she did it all earlier and easier. Although with my baby he has had so many problems since birth and is so behind that it is hard to see it getting better when you are sleep deprived and in the middle of it!!!

I hear you on spending too much time planning and getting set up for disappointment, although I hope that Disney has figured out the training issue for the Fantasy so that their service will be consistent for you....or you will luck out like so many others did and get the great servers!!! I know our first cruise with Disney was so wonderful and I hope they will get through problems some of us had and return to the level we experienced the first time. The Dream looks really amazing.

I has put some thought into my cruise and actually received quite a few PMs encouraging me to send a letter directly to Disney. I did that last week but haven't heard from them. Oh well - maybe they are overwhelmed with correspondence.:confused3

Glad everyone in your house is feeling better. I know you don't want to overplan and get disappointed again, but I think part of the fun of a vacation is the anticipation!!!

I hope you both have wonderful times on your adults only cruises. It took us 28 yrs to do our first adult only trip!!!

wonder if we will ever do a grown ups only cruise? Im a sucker when it comes to the grandkids , they would be expecting to come along at the get go. I think we would have to book with another cruiseline then maybe they wouldnt be so upset if we went without them! Not sure if I want to do that , disney has spoiled us!lol! Have fun with the planning for your future cruise!

We just changed rooms for our next cruise from the Verandah with Navigators category 7a (the room we had last time) to a "secret Verandah" 6a category at the 7a price. Because of the obstruction of the view it's cheaper. Still very open & nice without paying more. Woo hoo! :rotfl: :cloud9:
