January 28, 2012-do you believe in MAGIC?

Good Morning!!! It's not too good a morning here in Louisiana today. All the football fans know what I am talking about:mad: we still had a great team though... At least we made it to the National Champoinship Game... Well almost...seems like some of the teams brains stayed at home.:confused3

Just laying in bed recovering... Boy am I tried of just laying around. Yesterday, I did get our Nanny to take me to the mall to shop for a few cruise items.I can't drive yet. I got an outfit for Semi Formal night and some comfortable flat shoes for the dining room too! One store was all I could manage walking in... I hope by cruise time I am ready to go.

I am so ready for this vacation...rain or shine...rough seas or not...hot or cold...whiny kids or happy kids....it doesn't matter to me! It's a vacation all the same:banana:

The cutoff date for the FE was Dec. 28th. That said, I had lots of extras, and think the more, the merrier. I know, though, that many have already prepared for the number of participants that were signed up on the cutoff date.

If it's okay with everyone, I'd like to offer the following option:

Anyone wishing to add on late can add their name to the list. The understanding would be that they may not receive an FE gift from every participant, but would receive from those of us who have extras. So, no guarantees, but still able to participate.

If you'd like to get on late, and understand these terms, please send me your email address to angiebales@gmail.com. I'll share the document with you, and you can edit your information in.

For those of you who signed up by the deadline, and have extras: you will need to add in the late participants' information on the floor plans I sent out. Just be mindful of that when printing out your floorplans.

I hope that this is okay for everyone. I hate to turn anyone away from the FE exchange, but I don't want to burden those who have already finished with their FE preparations.

I am good with adding people to the FE list. I have extra's of some of my gifts. But I had bought soemthing different for the kids...not sure if I can get extra's but will try if any kids are added:)

Angie, that sounds like the perfect solution. I agree, the more the merrier! :thumbsup2

Welcome to the meet Weavers! You said you live near the Great Lakes. Where are from? We live in Michigan, and I have the same fear. We've had a great winter so far. I just hope it continues! :sunny:

Hi all, I got signed up for the FE exchange! Thanks to everyone for welcoming us late folks! I need to do so much before the cruise! Adding the FE gifts to my lists shouldn't be too much work:) I love shopping!! The kiddos will be easy...I own a Learning Express Toy Store!! The adults just may get a toy too:goodvibes We are all kids at heart anyway... we are going on a Disney Cruise:cool1:

Happy Tuesday Everyone! I have shopping to do! Tickets to "Mickey Town" as my five year old calls it is first on the list!

We currenly reside in Appleton, WI (about 30 miles south of Green Bay). I am from Kalamazoo, MI originally and my wife Iron Mountain, MI (Yooper).

We'll be signed up for the FE tonight...looking forward to it as my kids love to geocache and this is sort of the cruise equivalent...

Balmy 48 deg up here - yuck!

Have you guys been reading about this? It has me a bit concerned. There are now large windows of "unsecured" programming time (meaning parents must attend and supervise their children). For "secured" programming, parents are not allowed to be present at all. There is always "secured" programming time available, but they lump younger and older children together. So, if the Club is in "unsecured" open house mode, all of the children without parents present would be shuffled into "secured" programming in the Lab...with older children.

I'm trying not to freak about this. There's a flip side to every story. Still, I'm concerned. With only two and half weeks left, there's little time to plan around this little "glitch." From what I can tell, the kids programming schedule is not released in advance, so I can't tell if this policy will interfere with our brunch plans on Day 6. I've already written Disney about this in hopes of finding out a little bit more.

Angie, I am not bothered by this at all. I will make sure I have enough for every one. I agree, the more the merrier. Welcome to those who made the list. :)

Well I know how you feel about walking. I know I walked 2 houses down to my daughters but that was all I could handle. I sure wish you the best of luck. I know what you are going through. "WHEW" so glad I am doing as good as I am. I know being off for vacation is nothing like just being home because you are recovering. The people at work tease me telling me I just had 2 months off why do I need a vacation. UGH! :)

Any way, good luck and don't push your self to far!!

Well said!!! I will not have to cook, clean or entertain kids for an entire week! Whooppeee!!!:yay:

Agree with you. Although this will have minimal impact on us as we have little-to-no scheduled plans yet (we are too cheap to pamper ourselves at a spa - but we will plan to sign up for PALO dinner), I DO NOT like the thought of 2 class-worth of kids of multi ages pushed into one room. I say there is plenty to do elsewhere on the ship - leave the rooms alone and for the kids only!!! I have often wondered - ARE KIDS EVER TURNED AWAY FROM THE CLUBS DUE TO OVERCROWDING? If so, then this wouldn't help.

We will be at POR, I assume that it would be the same bus. I think that the last time we were there on the DCL bus we went to POFQ. We will be the 2 DP who just realized that they are going on the Magic for a week w/o DD and DS, the look of absolute guilt and happiness! Can't wait to meet you and everyone!

Kim

I look forward to meeting you on the bus, Kim.
I can't believe the time is almost here.
I've got so much to do and so little time. I haven't even thought about starting my packing yet. I might wind up wearing the same thing all week at the rate I'm going. See you all soon.

Paulette

At this point there will be no more additions to the FE exchange, correct? We are going tomorrow to pick up our main ingredient (2.5 hour drive but SO worth it) and after tomorrow I won't be able to get any more.

I can't believe we're just a little over 2 weeks away! SO much to do! The time really has flown by! We are BEYOND excited!

To my knowledge, everyone who has expressed an interest in joining late has added their information to the FE document. However, if someone else does wish to add on, it will be with the understanding that they may not receive from everyone, as the cutoff date has passed. So don't worry if we have some others add at the last minute, and you don't have enough. The FE is supposed to be FUN, not STRESSFUL. :goodvibes

So where are you headed to get the sauce? You have peaked my interest. I was thinking Lexington maybe, but maybe not far enough. Are we talking Eastern NC????

We are also very excited!!! Now if I could just get around to start packing, it is always hard to figure out which clothes to take.:confused3

It's a secret! You'll find out all about it when you get it! But I will tell you...we went to a nationally famous place to get it!

And as for packing...I am a terrible packer. I take everything I own. So for this trip I've planned out outfits on a spreadsheet! I'm a travel geek! :cool1:
