JANUARY 27, 2007 "PAL MICKEY" Western Magic ROLL CALL

thanks. I am expecting to have lots of fun again. this year celebrating my birthday on the cruise instead of at WDW.

It has been my good fortune to visit the bridges of all ships I have cruised. They are all different and all quite bright, organized and efficient appearing. My favorite may still be the Cunard Adventurer with the Captain's gold and mahogany tea cart that held his silver tea service for his daily afternoon tea.
Alas that ship is no longer in service.

Here's how I would rank the bridges for 'wow'
Cunard Adventurer
Disney Magic - tied for second with..
Royal Carribean's Majesty of the Seas
Carnival Fascination

Neat you have had all these opportunities. I admit the bridge really didn't look like what i expected. But then again now with computers running so much I don't know what I expected.

Yeah, I'm sad too    - there was another thread in the main boards about the post-cruise letdown - and I totally agree. Looking at these big piles of laundry makes me even sadder...

One funny thing though - the airlines misplaced 2 pieces of our luggage (not a big deal when you're on your way home) and when they finally showed up yesterday one of them had a piece of paper in it saying that it had been randomly chosen for inspection. I had to laugh because it was the smelliest suitcase ever with wet bathing suits and stinky sandals in it. I'm sure the sniffer dog was just curious what that terrible smell could be..:rotfl: :rotfl:

anyone going to write a cruise report?

i am finding having withdrawl in missing activity in this thread. it was fun throughout the year posted to each other, getting to know ppl on here, etc... and not that the cruise is over..... I feel "lost" <G>

LOL - I don't know how you can feel "lost" because I saw where you are VERY active on the thread for your next cruise, and that should keep you busy looking forward to that.

I decided not to write a trip report because the best parts of the cruise for me were things I can not (or should not) make public. I'll only say that because of that, this was the most magical of my 11 cruises. I am hoping to book another for sometime between October and January, but finances and events will determine whether that actually happens.

Well, ummmm . . Due to certain circumstances, I am now booked on the 24 Nov. 07 Magic. My Pal is already pondering his wardrobe but wondering if he will get to go or if a new Pal will take his place by then. :rotfl2:

anyone else get pics with Jack Sparrow on Priate night from Shutters? My DH just noticed tonight that the date on our family pic that we bought from Shutters says January 9th - its supposed to say Jan 31:scared1: I am so mad. :furious: Couple that with the fact that me and the lady at Shutters had more than one go around this trip I am fuming right now.:furious: I think I will write a letter to DCL about it. I just wanted you all to know and make sure you look at the dates on your pics and be sure they are correct! If they aren't correct be sure to let someone know.

I just checked my one with Sparrow and it does have Jan 31st. Most of the others have the actual dates of the cruise Jan 27- Feb 3rd.

Let us know how it goes contacting DCL. and sorry for the mistake, that's a real bummer.

I just checked our pictures with Jack Sparrow and the date is right. Sorry you had so much trouble.

At the beginning we had trouble with a few portrait ones. They look like they check to see if it is fine and we get the pictures and someones eyes are closed or in my case my glasses were down and across my eyes. I too got upset with them.

I everyone. Today is my first day back to reality. We were fortunate enough to have a week at WDW post cruise. As we left the natural high of the cruise ship on Sat. Feb. 3, 2007 my family and I were truely sad. My 16 year old DD cried all that day (literally) about missing the new friends she bonded with. It was the first time anyone in my family was depressed about going to WDW. We all rebounded and had a wonderful time last week.

We also rebooked while on board. June 15th, 2008. I really wanted to do the repo but it hit during finals and then again at the start of the school year. We are excited to be sailing the Magic on our coast this time. For those of you I got to meet, it was really nice! I'm glad everyone had a magical trip!

Hey, glad you had a good time at WDW. I saw your daughter before we all left the ship and saw she was upset. I wished I could have done something for her but I understood what she was going thru. I felt for her and hope she can possibly stay in contact with some of those new friends.

check you email when you get time as I sent the pic taken in terminal,

sorry we never got to sit back and chat. just seemed we kept missing each other. there will be another opportunity someday <G>

it was great meeting you and your family. what a wonderful family you have. so blessed to have each other.

later

I am pretty sure I had a few tears in my eyes as I left the ship also. :sad1:

That's so wonderful that you rebooked. Just as the only cure for a lost love is a new love, the only cure for cruise withdrawal is booking another one to look forward to! :cool1:

Oh yes - we were all really sad, especially my DD6. She was crying on Friday night that she would miss her new best friend and that she wanted to stay on the boat. (Her mom and dad wanted to stay as well). So, Saturday morning, we took one last stroll around the boat - went up to Deck 10 and promised that we would cruise again. I am waiting for the 2009 dates to come out however so it'll be a bit of a wait...

It was very nice to meet all of you and as I've said in previous posts, I really appreciated all the advice to this cruise newbie...:grouphug:

isn't it amazing how in just 7 nights kids and adults can make new friends so quickly and when time to say bye, feels like "life" is almost over. esp to a child. And you leave wondering if you will ever see those ship made friends again. Some will probably some will not. I know I would love to see and cruise with several new ppl I met onboard that are from this thread or even ppl I met that weren't involved in DIS.

The atmosphere of the cruise was like a bunch of strangers coming together but in no time many were friends like they had known each other for years.

I will truly miss many of those I met onboard but can hope to meet again someday.

Maybe have a reunion next Jan for us all that went this time <G>

Hi all

I'm not enjoying getting back to a normal, land locked, life after our wonderful cruise. We all had such fun, but we did regret not meeting everyone. We enjoyed meeting a few of you. I just got caught up on the threads and it really hit home when I read the last few pages when everyone was drifting off, either to new cruise threads after booking or just fading away from this one. I really enjoyed spending the year with all of you and now it seems so sad that it is finally over. We will be looking towards booking another Magic cruise in the future, maybe we wiil meet some of you then. We are thinking of doing a double dip in the future but are probably looking into late 2009 or early 2010, as that is when Matthew will be 5, and will enjoy the cruise better I think. He didn't join us this time and we missed him soooo much that we won't be leaving anyone behind again. I would love to book sooner but I think we may do something different between now and then, maybe Hawaii again, we had a great time there in 2005.

Everyone who has rebooked, I envy you that you get to plan all over again, but our time will come again. It's getting to sad to think of saying goodbye, you all have been my second family this past year, so I hope that some of you stay in touch, maybe we can keep this thread going for some time yet and never have to say goodbye.

Cruising canuck - I will always remember that we kept seeing you nearly everywhere we went on the ship, so much so that we had to laugh when someone had been looking for you and couldn't find you. It was like, "What? You haven't met Cruising canuck and you've been looking for him? Well, just start walking and you are bound to run into him!"

I think the only person I kept seeing everywhere more than you was Cruise Director Christiaan. :lmao:

Hope to run into you again on a future cruise. :cool1:
