JANUARY 27, 2007 "PAL MICKEY" Western Magic ROLL CALL

Safe travels everybody. I planned to make this post last night but my plans changed when at 11 PM our power went out. I started to continue my cleaning by flashlight until I realized how nutty that idea was.

Thank God the power is back this morning and I have plenty of time to get everything I still need to get done before we leave for the airport today at 2. It is freezing here in N.Y.

See you all soon!!

Well I guess most if not just a few of us are already traveling to Florida. So the boards will be slow tonight. bummer for me selfishly <G>

Anyone that leaves tonight or in the morning be safe.

I know there are a few of us locals that are driving over in the morning. Safe travels to you well and me too <G>

I am packed, yet still have to load up the car. Way too much to load: two checked bags (one of which is duffle), travel chair (which is in three parts: chair, base and battery), cruthces, carry on bag, jacket, items for travel chair ie arm bags, mesh backpack, grabber, etc..., and Pal Mickey of course.

I know I have overpacked but i don't care. at least i feel comfortable with what i am bringing. good thing is one checked and carryon will fit into other checked bag to hide all away. what's weird its not that i am bringing lots of clothes really. just enough for outfit a day in tops/dinner shirts, and few pairs of capri's to mix/match with tops. its all the other small stuff may or will need here and there. some of the stuff though I probably won't bring home as things can be thrown out after use.

leaving my house in a mess and again don't care. its not like i am suzy housemaker anyway <G>

well guess better start figuring out how to get everything into the car <G>

It's hard to believe that 24 hours ago we were getting ready to step off the Disney Magic. (Okay, we were late getting off the ship.) I still feel the ship rocking beneath me. I came home and slept 12 hours. Take care everyone!

it is hard to believe i am home. already missing ppl taking care of my room, serving me food, etc... LOL. I had a great time. It was also wonderful to meet many of you from here. Hope all had a safe trip home. I am ready to return on another 7 night cruise and hope to asap. <G>

:sad1: I too cannot believe it's now over.... :sad2:

I am glad to know my parents and home are okay as we don't live that far from where the F4 tornados hit. Also for Taswira as her mother lives in Spruce Creek Fly-In which isn't that far from New Smyrna Beach which had damage also. I am sorry of course for all those who did get hit... my thoughts are with those who lost loved ones and homes...

It was such a blast meeting everyone! Kept bumping into Cruising Canuck all over the place, and then later on VA Mouseman seemed to be everywhere  Some of you I only got to meet briefly - they do sure pack a lot of activities and goings-on during a cruise. I need another cruise JUST to get to things I couldn't possibly have time for this cruise!!:rotfl:

This cruise was a dream come true - literally. I'd always, always wanted to take a cruise. Was a little afraid I'd not like it - after all - until you actually go on one you don't know if it's really for you. However, I can say with all sincerity - I LOVE cruising! :yay:

I want to cruise again and SOON! Don't know that I'll get to go soon - but I will go again!!!!!

I don't know if I'm going to do a cruise report - but there definitely were some Magic Moments. Loved when the Spa Director made an appointment for Taswira's, Brady's, DisGal's and my Pal Mickeys to do the Rainforest Room and Couples Villa.... I think HE had more fun that we did! He went all out. I haven't had time to even get the camera out and look at my photos yet - but I think those shots are going to be priceless!!

Yeah, bummer that the cruise is over! We're all waiting for the chocolates on our pillows and the food service! That, and the sensation of being on a rocking ship is still affecting me.

Only got to meet a few of you on the cruise. We were easy to spot on the ship. I mostly wore more my Colts hat and my older son was wearing his new Tom Brady New England jersey most of the time; quite the odd couple.

We had a blast on the shore excursions. We did a helicopter fly over of seven mile beach on Grand Cayman and got some great photos/video of the Magic and the beach. At Cozumel, we had a blast on the Fury catamaran snorkel/beach party excursion. What a great staff on that boat - kept bringing me cervazas!

Don't know when we'll cruise again it'll be a blast when we do!

Just a taste - - More and bigger pics will be posted on the website.

I also cannot believe it's over. Honestly, we really had a tough start. I was feeling seasick the first 2 days and didn't even know it was seasickness. I was dizzy and having a hard time concentrating. Then by the time I realized and started medicating myself, my son got sick. We were not quarantined but he was sick enough that he didn't even want to leave the room. By Cozumel Day I never wanted to see a cruise ship again. We had to cancel our Dolphin Encounter, it was my husbands birthday, and my 7 year old could barely sit up in bed. We tried to make the best of it but it was not easy. Luckily we did have a really nice room. I did get my 4 year old and my husband dressed in their pirate gear and sent them to dinner in hopes that they would enjoy dinner and the pirate show but my 4 year old fell asleep 5 minutes after dinner started. I was also worried about my Mom who lives in New Smyrna Beach.

Fortunately, the last day was near perfect. My 7 year old was feeling great and ready for a full day of fun. We spent the day at Castaway Cay. Enjoyed it very much. We went back to the ship for a bridge tour. When we went to Dinner Cruise Director Christiaan came to our table, my son had approached him on day one and told him he wanted to be a Cruise Director when he grows up. Christiaan asked him if he would be the honorary Cruise Director that night at the show. This was a dream come true for my son who loves the theater. We had reserved seats at the show, Christiaan called him on stage, gave him a crew member pin that had his name and Cruise Director on it, an Honorary Cruise Director certificate, and had him say "Ladies and Gentlemen, boys and girls, please welcome, John Charles"

By the end of the cruise, we did not want to leave and couldn't wait to go back!

Unfortunately, we only met a few of you. It was good to run into the ones we met throughout the cruise, everybody was very friendly.

Just wondering how many of us booked while onboard?

As you can see from my sig, we booked onto the 15 night East Bound Panama Canal crossing. We're still trying to figure out how we're going to pay for it though. DVC points will probably help quite a bit.

I didn't actually talk to many of you this cruise, but I have a feeling I saw quite a few of you. I talked with taswira (sorry for mispronouncing your user name!) and ThePhantomsGirl on the first day of the cruise and danced with them during the Sail Away Party along with speakupjc. (What great advertising to show up on the big screen!) I saw them a few times throughout the cruise (Castaway Cay sticks out in my mind at the moment) and I realized the last night that we had the same dinner seating/rotation. With so much going on with my own group it was hard to meet up with everyone here like I had hoped.

My Pal was quite mischeivous during the cruise. Ilea (DD4) was quite attracted to him and asked to hold him. Then he ran off to hide. He managed to steal the piece of paper I wrote our state room number on when I checked with guest services, so they never called our room to let us know he had been visiting with them. I checked a day or so later and they had him all safe and sound. He just wanted to see behind the scenes. :rotfl2: We were very careful to watch him better after that.

Take care.

Just want to say that it was GREAT meeting all those of you that I did get to meet and talk with (or dance with - LOL). My Pal was so happy to see so many other Pals aboard as well. His only disappointment was that we could not all manage to get together for a group photo.

As for rebooking - I did not rebook while onboard but hopefully will be cruising again within a year or so IF I am blessed with enough Pixie Dust.

Hi - was it your son who joined us on the bridge with Captain Forberg and his officers? It was only moments before we sailed from Castaway Cay? Wasn't that the just coolest experience!!! Barbara, Manager from Services, arranged that treat for me and for brady. So many crew members gave us special moments, both small and grand. And that was a grand one.

Hey! I saw you on the cruise a few times, too! I think we were waiting in line for that final elevator ride into the terminal, too. We were hard to miss with our huge stroller. (It's a double seater, infant seat in the front, second kid faces backwards in the back) I felt badly about having such a large stroller, but with Elijah being so small, we really needed it a few times and it also helped quite a bit with Ilea's tired legs on more than one occasion. NEXT time, we won't need such a big stroller.

I kept thinking about saying hi, but I ended up being too shy. I'm not sure I would have stopped to speak with Taswira if she hadn't noticed my Pal Mickey hanging from my fanny pack as I was walking by her in the Promenade Lounge on the first day.

everything was grand at least for me and Pal. I have gotten four online photo albums up and have at least two more to do.

if interested here are the links: (Hope its not against rules to be posting these links, if so someone let me know. thanks)

We did not rebook onboard. We asked for a quote on the same cruise you booked but we were told it was sold out. We did not ask until the last night. We have been trying to figure out when we are going to go again. My husband wants to do a double dip so we are looking at the halloween double dip of 08. We have a DW vacation planned for 10/07. I really need to look into DVC.

On Castaway Cay I actually approached a couple with a newborn and asked if the babys name was Elijah. :rotfl: The mother said ah, no, this is Sara. Sara was only wearing a diaper at the time, so it was an easy mistake to make. I then tried to explain that I had been chatting with somebody online who was on the cruise with a newborn.... She probably thought I was nuts.
