JANUARY 27, 2007 "PAL MICKEY" Western Magic ROLL CALL

Here is to warm weather, safe travels and happy sailing for all. I can't believe in 1 week we will be boarding!!!! :cool1:  :cheer2: Thanks for the tip about the magnet strips you can buy. I wasn't aware you could buy it so this tip really helped. I am going to send my DH to see if he can buy a strip for us. Thanks Shari for saying I could borrow some clothes for Pal Mickey. I really appreciate it. We will probably end up meeting everyone on board instead of the terminal as our plan right now is to sleep in (after all we will be at the Pirate and Princess Party till 12:30 AM) and then return the car at 1PM before coming to the Port. Look for tired but excited passengers boarding who are introduced as the King and Queen of Brunswickland, Princess Catherine and Pal Mickey as that will be us. Make sure if you see us to say hi as we would love it. I even have Princess Catherine working on her Princess wave. LOL.

Do any of you bring bubbles to blow off the back of the ship on departure day? I bought some at the store, but wasn't sure how many people really do this. ???

LOL - I intend to be announced as "Taswira and Pal Mickey." :cool1:

To everyone who is bringing Pal Mickey, don't forget to have them add him to your boarding announcement! :thumbsup2

Yes - At least in the past they allowed it. Not sure since all the security changes. But if you DO bring bubbles, it is best to bring the kind that are not sticky. The wind often carries them into other guests' hair and onto their clothes, and I discovered that certain ones are really yucky on the hair!

BTW - They make bubbles with a bubble-making machine during the sail-away party that come up in front of the stage, so there will be bubbles. Bringing your own is just personal preference if they do still allow it (Oooooh - strange liquid! Ha-ha!).

OK, one more post (and maybe more?).

I got some magnetic printer paper the other day and my wife has made a great collection of past Disney trips that we printed. We got some Disney style fonts and she made some cute photo captions.

Stop by stateroom 6022 if you want to check it out!

My DH got some magnetic strips and I have made some signs. Be sure to look for them on one of the SPH cabin doors. They use our theme the King and Queen of BrunswickLand, Princess Catherine and Pal Mickey. I am probably even gone to wear a crown while on board to get into the whole Queen theme. I think it would be fun and I do own one. What do you think?

Personally, I LOVE it! What a fun way to ... well...have more fun!:goodvibes
Me too! The Disney Magic is where we can be what we WANT to be! I shall!

What about you Holly? Are you going to have them announce you as "ThePhantomsGirl and Pal Mickey"? :wizard:

Safe travels to everyone!!!! We have a 6:20 AM flight next Friday from San Diego. We can't believe that after almost 9 months of planning we board next Saturday. Here is to wonderful memories for everyone.:goodvibes

I'm glad I am not the only one sending my kids to school that morning. Since it is a surprise I do have to pack and do last minute things that morning.

I think we will have to feed the kids McDonald's before we head to the airport. Since it is lunch and they have been at school all morning. :rotfl2:

So does anyone know what people are getting for a returning gift? Last time we got a towel and two pins. This will be our third trip.

Haven't been on since it was in Dry dock. That was two years ago. Can't wait to see the big screen up on the top deck.

I think my last was on the first cruise after Dry Dock. :) Anyway - - -

Current Castaway Club onboard gifts:

One small shoulder canvas/cotton bag with CC logo
One red mesh bag with rope closure, also with CC logo (backpack straps)
One blue mesh bag with rope closure, also with CC logo (laundry bag)
One blue bracelet with CC logo
One red bracelet with CC logo
Two small bottles of sunscreen
One small notebook/journal with CC logo
One large CC magnet with photo rendering of ship
Two blue plastic cups with lids and straws, also with CC logo
One plastic container of wipes with CC logo on it

They also are providing CC Members with lanyards and pins at check-in.

When we called they mentioned the landard and pins. They also said if we don't get them that we can go to the store and tell them we are repeat customers. We asked this because we have two kids both returning and it they only give us one landard and pin their will be a fight for sure.

So it could be anything you listed then? And it will be in the room when we get there I guess.

Ok - need a little help here. My MIL doesn't have any photo ID other than her passport (she doesn't drive and her health card is one of the old red & white ones). Since she will have to surrender her passport at check-in (since she's Canadian), I will make her a photocopy so she'll have that on hand. Will this be enough (along with her KTTW card) to get on and off the ship??

Thanks for all the help - you guys are the best!!

No, it isn't anything I listed. It should be EVERYTHING I listed. :)

Everything should be in your stateroom when you arrive, except the lanyards and pins that they will give you at check-in (two of each). The CC gifts are really meant for the return cruiser adults (the ones who made the res and paid - LOL), but of course you can give the stuff to your kids instead of keeping it yourself.

If she has any way to go get a new legal ID before the cruise, she should do that. A photocopy of her passport with no original legal photo ID will not be acceptable unless they decide to be unusually (and illegally) generous and accommodating!

Binny I would do as you said. Photocopy your passport picture. Ask when you get on board if you can keep your passport. I don't remember them taking our passports last time. The first time yes. We only have our drivers license too other then that.

We have a Costco card. But don't know if that would work. Our American Express card is our Costco card and has a picture.

Does Canada have anything like a non-driver's license/id? I know in the States people can get one, and quickly as long as they have the back-up ID (like a Passport). Fairly inexpensive and can be gotten right away.

Hopefully they will let you keep your passport. A driver's license or government ID works as a legal picture ID because it is issued by the government. A credit card or any membership card, photo or not, is not valid legal identification.

Well maybe she needs an age of majority card:rotfl2: That would have to be mailed out too.

This is a hard one. Never heard of a non drivers licenses before.
