January 26, 2014 Dream 4 Day

I have a 4 year old son (and an almost 2 year old who acts as old as his brother) - noticed you have a 5 year old. Did you wind up booking on this cruise - Jan. 26? Maybe we'll see each around in the kid play areas!! I know I'll be taking advantage of the kiddie pool & play areas as much as I can with my 2 young ones!

We are hoping to book this cruise within the next few days. We have a daughter that turns 5 a few days before the cruise. You may see us, too.

We are a HUGE Dis family! We love Disney and head to the world about once a year. My mother and father who are also disney fanatics will be joining us. We have been on several cruise but this is our first Disney one. We are very excited, although my hubby and mother will be really missing the casino! LOL

Trying to decide if we can swing 2 excursions on our own at Naussau. My boys really want to go to Atlantis, I may try the Comfort Suites thingy as it would save me over $275! Just a little nervous. I ALWAYS book our excursions privately and I have never had an issue before. The second trip I want to try and take is the Chocolate tour, just not sure how to book that one privately. I can see that they are only about a 10 min cab ride apart so trying to make that work.

Our travel crew is me, my dh, my mom, my dad and my two boys 12 and 15.
Any advice?

~Anne

Welcome! You may want to ask your question on the chocolate tour on the main board. We don't have too many people participating on this thread. I gotta admit I have never booked an excursion except through Disney, so I am no help. Wishing you luck!

Just checking in with my fellow cruisers!
We are so excited!!
DS(10) wants to go to the kids clubs, but I haven't booked anything ahead of time. Am I supposed to?
DD(15) would go to the teen club but she'll be by herself & said she feels weird going alone. I told her she can make friends & she looked at me like I had two heads lol
I tried to keep the Disney portion of our trip a secret so I can surprise them but I told them about it. DD was going through a tough time with her disability (she has RSD/CRPS) so I wanted to cheer her up. They were so excited & now she knows she will be spending the actual day of her Sweet 16 (31st) at Disney World!!
Oh & add me to the list of stay at home mom! :) I'm so tempted to start packing already as soon as the holiday is over lol

Happy Holidays everyone! :)

My husband and I did the Chocolatier tour in October when we were on the Wonder. It was fun! The place is very small. They only have about 8-10 employees. The girl who does the tour is fun and funny. I highly recommend it. We did the tour through a Port Excursion so the cab ride was included. I'm not sure about doing it on your own, but I know other people on our ship did it that way.

We just booked the cruise today. Merry Christmas from my husband! :D

It will just be DH and me. We signed on because of the military discount. The rates were just too good to pass up!

Getting close 27 days to go. I'm hearing that there is good chance of upgrades.

Happy Holidays to you!

The answer to signing up early for kids club is no. You will have to check him in there and get this lovely wristband thing for him. Maybe someone here who has done it recently can advise on the best way, but in the past you could sign up in the terminal or at the club on the first day.

My son is 17 and doesn't like the clubs. He went once on our 7-day cruise last year to humor us, but he didn't have fun. I hope your daughter does go and has a blast as so many kids do, but know that she can still have fun if she does not go.

Since we were too late for the super-early FE group cut-off, I feel sad not gifting anything...if you send me your cabin #, I'd like to bring your daughter a Bday gift.

Thanks for the reply! I'm glad to hear I don't have to sign him up ahead of time.

I feel sad about not gifting or getting to hang a FE near my door too! :goodvibes
That is awfully kind of you to think of my DD on her bday!! Our stateroom # is 9004. Share yours so she can properly thank you. :)

Hope you had a great Xmas, just 28 days till we set sail!! :dance3:

My husband and I will be on this cruise! I've been a Diser for a long time, but since we moved down here (20 miles away from WDW), I haven't been on the boards. My old name was Mickeynut 50.
I'm excited, and anxious at the same time - I have a problem with motion sickness. I will do anything to NOT get sick. I've waited for this for a LONG time!
Just got onto this thread - where or are we going to meet?

Sherrie aka Mickeynut3612:)

Welcome!

I am wishing extremely calm seas for you! I have only been on Disney and one ill-advised Carnival cruise, and have never had motion sickness. My Mom who has been on many other cruise lines, says Disney is the smoothest, so hoping you are fine!

Yes, we would like to meet, but it hasn't been set up yet. There is a large group of people doing back to back cruises starting 1/23 and a Facebook page for that. The coordinator there just asked about a meet and greet. I think the first day at 3 is when most of ours have been and that worked for most. I would expect we'll land on something near that. The facebook link is https://www.facebook.com/groups/551143604910407/. If that doesn't work, you can get it in the 23rd thread.

OMGosh only 28 days. I usually have everything ready. This is a bit different with the holidays! BTW, I think we are going to hang up our FE anyway as it my lazy way of looking for my room!

We are cruising for the first time and are looking for a fish extender group to join! Any help with finding one would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!!

Welcome!

There is a FE group for this cruise that organized through Facebook, but by the time I committed to the cruise in early November they were closed already. I'm not sure how they started as there wasn't even a thread for the cruise; I started this one in November. Anyone can start a FE group. I just didn't think we had enough folks here to participate. This is our 10th cruise and we have done it each time and it's especially a nice thing to do with kids. So, at a minimum, I would be glad to drop off something for your kids if you tell me their ages and your cabin #. Not the same craziness as being in a group of 50 or so and bringing an extra suitcase for the stuff, but maybe next time... Of course if you start a group, you can sign up as many others as you like, or maybe there is a group besides the FB one of which I am not aware. There is also a Facebook page where a meet and greet is being discussed that you might want to join: https://www.facebook.com/groups/551143604910407/permalink/691904177501015/,

Just what is a fish extender?

A passenger to passenger small gift exchange executed by dropping off these gifts into a fabric wall-hanging outside the cabin, hung from a hook that used to always be a fish, thus named a "fish extender." You might want to search the main board to get more than you would ever want to know about this. Most cruises have a group organized on this site or on Facebook. Our 1/26 cruise has a group, but they closed very early.

Hi all!
We are also booked on this cruise! Can't wait to escape the cold PA weather and soak up some sun on CC! :beach:
