January 23, 2010 Sailing with Mickey on the Magic! **The Crusin' DISers**

Love it! Can we just do whatever color we'd like? Depending on what we can find? I'd like to do Royal Blue. I'll go to Michael's tomorrow and see what they have to choose from.

I don’t know about everyone doing their own.:confused3 How has that worked with past meet groups (asked to anyone in general)? I was thinking the same color among the group would make us more identifiable to each other but I am game for anything. Our Michaels had a large variety of all colors so I should not have any problem obtaining something color specific if we choose it that way. It may be too dark but DH’s favorite is red.

Just got a note from DCL about the kids club the other day. It says beginning mid Jan.(that's us) they will remove the age restrictions, so activities in the Club and Lab will be open to any kid who is interested.

Just thought of this while I was reading...remember to use "transfer paper for dark colors" if your shirt color is anything other than a very light color. And print the "mirror image" on the paper because of the wording.

I should have looked at the main page but who here has boys between 6-10?
I'd like to introduce the boys to some friends that they can play with in the club for the week-someone that they "know".Tyler is 9 and Ryan is 6

My son is 9 years old and has never been on a cruise......would love for him to meet kids his age. He is soooo excited about the Lab!

Great point!! Thanks!

My son is 10. He LOVED the Lab last time and can't wait to go again.

Hi! Anyone else gotten a letter from DCL talking about kids club and lab no longer being age restrictive on the activities? I think this means they can do whatever activities they want, whether it is in the Lab or Club, but does anyone know if this means any non-activity time is still divided by age?

I think all the same color would be best. I like red and royal blue and think either would look great with the stamp! Is it time to go YET!?!?!

Yup, I just got it the other day. DD is super excited!

My guess would be that the unscheduled time would still be divided by age.

Question about the shirt. Now that we've decided on the artwork. How do we get them printed off? This is new to me, but I'm game.

Also, I like the suggestion of a red shirt. It will match Mickie's shorts. Red or Blue, they are both Disney colors. Anyone know if Michael's has red shirts?

I am new to this as well but from what I am getting you can save the stamp to your computer and buy the iron on transfer paper and print the picture out on it. Then it’s just a matter of ironing it on. I will try and find some more accurate directions and post them.

Tonight on HGTV at 8PM they are running a Disney Christmas special.

Also, did anyone see the Macy's parade? They had a small DCL balloon that they parked next to one of the Macy's entrances. You can also buy a sailor Mickey...I think I saw it was $15.

About T-shirts. I have done iron on transfers and it is pretty easy.

Save the image to your computer. I save mine in a Disney folder. Right click on the image and choose "save image as".

Buy transfer paper. Remember to get transfer paper for dark colors if you're using a red or blue shirt. All the directions you need will be included with the paper.

Remember to print the mirror image if there are words on the image.

Wash and dry the T-shirt first and do not use fabric softner.

Have fun!!!

BTW, my DH informed me under no circumstances is he wearing a shirt...stinker :sad2: I guess it's just me and DD.

DH is saying the same if he goes. I told him tough.LOL Then he said ok but he has to approve the color and no name tag.:rotfl2:

Those men! I didn' ask mine. But, I know I am limited to what colors he will wear. I went to Joann's & Michael's today. both had the shirts for $3.99.

Joann's were 1/2 off today, so I bought some. Lots of colors to choose from. They had a very good selection. They were out of DD size, but I bought one and will take it back later. I chose the royal blue for us. I think we should all just get the colors we like. Other than our meet & greet, it needs to be something we'll all wear again. My DD's is so big, if I can't find her correct size, I'll be re-designing it some how.

Checked on the photo transfer paper. Believe it or not, Target had it for 1/2 the price of the other two stores. They had 5 or 10 sheets (can't remember) for $10.99. Way cheaper. But, I did Target first, so will have to go back and get it.

I also got my supplies to make our FE gift. Excited to get that started too.

That's all for now!

Different color varieties sound good to me. We are either going royal blue or red. Not quite sure yet. I will make a post of the blank name tag and link to the guy who makes them. I think we will just go ahead and make those optional. If you want to use it, go for it, it not, no big deal. We can go with the basic design but those of a more creative nature can let their imagination run wild. I am excited to see the different things everyone comes up with for their family. I think once each person decides their color shirt it should be updated on page 1 with their other information so everyone else can keep track. What's everyone think??

Tonight on HGTV at 8PM they are running a Disney Christmas special.

Watched it...so much fun seeing the behind the scenes of Disney :goodvibes The numbers were staggering...1300 Christmas trees, 1300 wreaths and one ENORMOUS warehouse to store it all in!

I wish I were there now, I love WDW at Christmas time.

Love the dis-ign for the shirts! The kids are going to love it. I can't picture DH wearing it, but as long as some kids and the moms weare it we'll be able to find eachother. We'll have to put together a list for meet and greets (one for all of us and one for us who'd like the kids to meet)...has this been done? It would be nicei f we could get it posted up in thread 1 with info on the FE's, magnet exchange (numbers participating etc. etc). I sooo can't wait for this!
I haven't got the letter about the kids clubs yet-but the boys will be thrilled that they can split up or stay together for activities!
