I'm planning a trip for Disney World in January 2026. Planning for myself and also another family. We have 2 high schoolers. I am having an awful time narrowing down the week to go.

Marathon ends Jan. 11
Skyliner closes Jan. 25

Are there other closures I should be aware of?

We are looking at either
- Jan. 10-Jan. 16 (would miss 5 days of school)
- Jan. 17-Jan. 23 (mlk, would miss 4 days)
- Jan. 24-Jan. 31 (teacher workday, would miss 4 days)

Obviously we want what everyone wants... Better prices and lower crowds 😂

Suggestions on the week to take? Or does it not matter between these 3 weeks?

I've been each of those 3 weeks over the last few years. Of the 3, I'd choose the last week-just because that's the week I'm going in 2026. Also, of the 3 choices, that was the warmest week, best weather. The coldest, most miserable weather was the second week, Jan 17-23-in 2025, followed by the first week.

Take the 2nd option if you want to ride the Skyliner. You’ll just need to plan ahead due to MLK crowds. Try avoiding the weekends and that Monday if you can help it.

I don’t care about the skyliner, so I pick the last week. We’ve been that week and it was low crowds and great weather. The weather can be unpredictable, so there’s obviously no guarantee. But I would personally want to avoid MLK day crowds.

I wouldn't plan around the Skyliner. If you will be staying at a resort for which this is the park transportation, I assume they will have buses running. I think that's Art of Animation, Caribbean Beach, Pop Century and Riviera.
If you are staying anywhere else, it shouldn't matter. Remember, the Skyliner is a fairly new addition to Disney. There were ways to get around before it was added.

I would want to avoid the Marathon and MLK Long Weekend crowds, so I would go with your third option.
