January 2025 Check In Thread!

We are on the younger side - 6 and 4. We lived right around Griffith park in Los Feliz for three years (without our youngest), so it’s a bit of a nostalgia trip. Not sure if mine can make it hiking all the way up, but you could! Starting at Fern Dell Nature Trail is great and you could stop at Trails Cafe on the way up or down. We might be more focused on the playgrounds, trains and carousel, opting to drive up to the observatory. We used to hike up all the time with our dog and oldest strapped to our chest!
Thank you so much! I’m pretty sure my teens won’t want to walk up to the observatory 😂… so I think we’ll take the uber up. I really appreciate the info! I hope you and your family have a magical time on your trip!!

After many many trips to the world, I'm venturing to the west coast for my first visit at DisneyLand! We are staying 1/14-1/18. Staying in the Villas at Disneyland Hotel. 15th will be Disneyland Park and then 16th California Adventure! Maybe we will run into some of you!
Welcome! I hope you have the best time!
I'm leaving cold Vermont and heading to DL mid January. I will take it!
We've been to DL in January before. It was in the mid-fifties. We were in heaven because it was below freezing at home!
1/25-27, staying at the Tropicana.
Welcome! We're staying there too. Love how close it is to the parks.

I just made plans for a solo trip January 8th to 17th. I'm staying at Anaheim Discovery Inn. I stayed last time at Stovall's BW but couldn't justify the extra cost for being right next door. I discovered staying there last time that I really enjoy being on the west side of the park and that even though the walk might be a little longer, I loved the feeling of walking Disneyland Drive and going through security on that side. We'll see if that holds true for me this time 🤣

Well, my solo trip turned into a trip with my grandson! We're going to celebrate our birthdays together. He's turning 15 and I'm turning older-than-dirt. We'll be there 3 nights, Jan 23-26, staying at GCH. My DD got us a huge discount on the hotel so I splurged. I did this with his older brother when he turned 10 but Covid nixed his turn so this will be our trip at last! He's so excited, which is funny because he's usually that teenage boy that doesn't show much emotion :)

So excited to be posting here! Going 1/21-25. This will be my first trip since 2018. I'm tagging along with a friend/coworker on her work trip (we work for the same company but in different units) to celebrate my 40th birthday! She has to work 2 of those days but I have friends in SoCal who will keep me company on them. She is a major WDW fan and hasn't been to DLR since 2015. I'm using flight credit from my summer vacation I had to cancel due to repeated flooding of my home...it has been a VERY long year, and I need some magic. I've been in February before so I think I'm mostly prepared for the weather. As a midwesterner, a high in the 60s is downright balmy, so we should be good.

Last time I went was the era of $10 Maxpass, RIP. Guess I need to figure out this LL business.

Oh, and since work is footing the hotel bill, I get to be a little bit more luxe than on past trips 😉

I hope you love it just as much! Welcome!

Yay! That sounds like an amazing trip! My dd's graduation trip to the UK was cancelled by Covid. We had the best time on our make up trip a few years ago.
We are heading to DLR from 1/27 to 2/1. Annual family trip. Can't wait!
Welcome! :)

Oh my gosh, Maxpass! I'd almost forgot about that. Of course I remember running around the park grabbing the paper fastpass. Welcome!

Hello! :wave2: Excited to have planned a last minute trip and will be there 1/13–16! Travelling from Canada, so any weather we will have, even rain, sounds significantly better than all the snow we've been getting here over the last couple weeks. Temperature-wise is anyone able to ballpark what the average is this time of year (bonus if you can ballpark it in Celsius for me 😉)? Just curious. I much prefer the cool weather to the heat—I was at WDW last January for a slightly longer trip and the first two days were perfect, but I was slightly disappointed during the second half of the week when temperatures climbed up to around 28*C each day 😂 hope you all have excellent trips, and maybe I'll cross paths with some of you in the parks!

Welcome! I hear you on the weather, anything is better than freezing temperatures!
I've been to Disneyland in January and February several times. The mornings and evenings are definitely sweatshirt/light jacket cold. The days can be in the 60's/70's if you're lucky. 15/21 celsius(?) :teacher:

We will be there Jan 17-22 staying at VGC. It will be our second time going in January. Pretty excited as we are celebrating my 40th on the 21st.

Quick question. What's to do in our first night with no parks? We are used to Disney Springs and what it offers adults for nighttime entertainment. We have no kids.

We go to Downtown Disney and have a nice meal, explore the hotels, and do a little shopping. Maybe someone else will have a better plan?
Me! I'll be there 1/28 and 1/29. First time without the kids since they were born!
Welcome! I hope you have the best time!
Surprising our daughter turning 16 with a trip with her sister, brother and two friends. Visiting the parks the 18th & 19th. If you see a group with a middle-aged couple with one adult son and four girls between 14 and 21, say hi and pray for them. 😜
That sounds like a great surprise! Good luck to the parents! lol
