It's really early to be planning but my excitement won't back down. DH and I have always flown to WDW. This time, we plan on driving since we have have twin toddlers (taking for their 6th birthday) who do not like loud noises. We are planning on driving from IL, outside St. Louis. Driving down in winter. Good idea or should we spend some time getting them used to loud noises and fly (they do have headphones for noises but not sure how much that would help with a plane)? I know nothing is ever certain but if anyone has a lot of experience winter living/driving the areas we will be driving, I would love some advice. Thanks!

I would fly as you can never count on winter weather driving.
I once lived in the ESL area and cancelled many trip plans due to road conditions

I got my twins some good headphones and downloaded a bunch of movies and shows from Netflix and Disney+ to keep them distracted on the plane. If they're vaccinated by the time the trip occurs, you can give them bunches of snacks too. Our drive is 10 hours and I've done it a couple of times, but I vastly prefer flying over driving with my 7 yr olds.

Me personally... and it may be just me, but the loudest noises I hear come from the screaming kid two rows behind me whose parents do nothing.
