I know it may be early, but I am beginning to get started lining up a car rental from MCO for January 2016.

We usually rent a minivan and was wondering if anyone has found anything terrific yet?

DIS people are always so helpful! :)

I am thinking it may still be early. I just found a good rate for my inlaws for Dec 10th to 25th for a minivan last weekend. Hopefully something for later dates in December and into January will come up soon as I am still looking for something for my late December dates.

We are waiting on discount codes too, all of the codes I've come across expire 12/31/15.

Also looking for something around end of January but still unsure of exact dates and locations required.

I found a full size through Dollar using Dollar express plus AAA discount for 12 days (Jan 22 - Feb 2) for $263 with all taxes and fees. Costco has the second best for Alamo for $290 - full size and it includes the second driver but I would need to get a Costco membership and not sure the additional $55 is worth it.

Looks like I belong in here! We are just booking now for our January trip. We will be in Orlando from the 7th to the 17th. This time I need a minivan. We are a family of four and a standard car has always been fine. This time my brother and his girlfriend are joining us for the first four days (long weekend at Universal). I've stalked rental car prices many many times for past trips and have never paid more than $250. The last time we needed a van was in 2012 but the prices seem much higher these days. Add in our awful exchange rate (I'm Canadian) and I have a feeling I am not going to like what I end up paying.
I booked with a code on the Dollar website last night that I found under "Specials". 10 days, Minivan, $325 all in. That's higher than I want to pay, but it's a start.

Our dates are Jan 16th to the 22nd. We are 8 people so I am booking 2 cars, so far I have standard (full) for $233 each car through Costco with Alamo, I'm hoping they go down but I booked just in case

We will be going 12/31 to 1/10 --- hoping to fin a decent rate - currently they are ridiculously hight because of our NYE pick up date (May take ME and pick up later on if need be on 1/2)

For those that found good rates in December where did you find them? Just found this thread so I will look for a December thread!

How do you find these discount codes?
The MouseSavers website has a listing of lots of coupon codes and how to apply or in some cases stack them.

I just rebooked my Dollar rental for January 22 - Feb 2 for a full-size car because rates went down from $262 to $249 (including taxes and fees) using the City Specials. I'll keep checking from now until Jan because there is no penalty for canceling and rebooking. Plus, I used ebates so there is an additional 5% cash back. You can also check AAA rates. too.

Thought people might like to recheck their rates.

I am finding a decent rate for a Minivan through Alamo with the Visa Coupon code(must pay with a Visa)AD2338FDF , and the American Airlines Code 7014136. I am picking up in Orlando and dropping off in Tampa and it said it was $290.06 when I checked out but in my email the total is $298.36 12/18- 12/23.

Are all of these prices out of MCO? I also need a rental for late Jan- Feb 14, but am trying to decide whether to rent from MCO or one of the DTD locations. We are arriving in an RV, so we won't be at MCO unless we have to be.

Mine is for $249 11 day rental Dollar (with city special) from MCO for a Full Size. I think the majority are probably from MCO but I wouldn't know. Just keep checking daily. I have taken off close to $50 since I started looking by checking daily.

I'm a Costco member, BJs member, AAA member and I can't find anything decent for the beginning of January!

It seems like prices starting going up at the beginning of the week and have continued to rise (I am generally a Dollar customer and check daily). The price for my rental has gone up $75. yikes. Hopefully they will go down -just keep checking.
