January 2014 discount watch!!

Nothing up as of this morning - anything for Visa or AP holders? (I can't see either of those).

I'm not seeing anything for AP right now, except the Tables in Wonderland. Very weird because I'm sure there was an AP Fall discount that was good until Dec. 24 and another AP Fall RO which was good until Sep 26.

What is really weird is that when I look at the Disney World website with my iPhone I am only seeing special offers for US Military but when I go to the website from my computer I am seeing other offers that are good til December. Anyone else seeing this? I am in Canada, so I don't know if that matters

Their website is just really weird. Now I am seeing AP & Florida Resident discounts that were not there earlier. It makes you think you are loosing your mind. Maybe I need another cup of coffee.

I saw the blurb when I googled it, too, but the link shows through Nov. 3rd. Hopefully this means they are simply in the process of updating their website. When the package rates came out for 2014 the website was wonky al morning. Fingers crossed!

From my (very limited) experience doing web publishing and this handy link (see below) it sounds like they might have the discounts already loaded into a webpage that is saved on their server but not published yet, or ... something. I'm sure there's lots of ways to do that. Maybe they just have it set to auto-publish. Usually the page has to be approved by an admin before it gets "officially" published to the internet, meaning the main content of the page (everything in the window, not the name in the toolbar, etc) has been edited in the web editor, but the "old" version is still what is published online. Once the admin clicks "approve and publish," the old data gets erased and the new data overwrites. It's a booger because once you save something, you can't go back. It just hovers in the approval queue... you either approve, publish, and take it down real quick, or just deactivate the page and fix it when you make a mistake. Obviously, sometimes things slip through... just depends on how the publishing software works.

This link was interesting to me about how Google finds the snippets (blurb) below the link... sounds like they are pulling data from something that is available online already, so shouldn't be too long before we see the official discount. I hope!

If it's "up to 35%," then perhaps it's a similar tier structure to last year's, which was 15% for Values, 35% Deluxe, according to Mousesavers? (wish the values were 20, that'd be nice!)

Yes the offer that you got if you CLICKED the link was there before. But you didn't read the post carefully did you?

When people were searching for offers UNDER the link it said:

"Get up to 35% off stays at select Disney Resort hotel rooms in early 2014. Don't miss a great deal! Book this special offer through December 31, 2013."

Which means Google accessed this text on the website. It's not not currently available on the "fall-roomdiscount" link. But it's on there somewhere!

So we should see it in the next day or so I would think.
