January 2014 discount watch!!

I'm just want some decent RO rates for Jan.

Doing FD in Oct, but had a some SW credit that needed to be used and there was a good sale as well, so now I've got a very budget trip planned for Jan.

I did luck out and get a AAA discount at ASMu when the 2014 rates came available online, but I'm actually pretty open to switching between the Allstars if needed (I'd even do POP or AoA if I had to) if a RO rate comes out during the winter sales (if they come out).

So I'll be watching close.

I just popped on the Disney site to check out some restaurants again. I choose all restaurants in MK on Jan 30th and low and behold BOG popped up with availability.
Of course I booked it for dinner!
I went back in and tried again after I booked it and it still showed availability for a table of 4..Hurry before its gone

just booked a short visit at the end of jan. and was able to get bog for the 29th. it looks like there is still availability there in general at the end of jan! would love to see a room only discount or free dining as we are bringing my mother in law and for simplicity will get the dining plan. happy planning everyone! :)

I got it for the 27th! :cool1::thumbsup2

Now I just need a deal on a resort!

The extended Free Dining dates came out yesterday.

I don't understand how January could have more visitors than December. It just seems really unlikely and odd! So, when they offer FD for dates in December and if not in January, it makes me wonder.

Technically Fall continues till December 21 (20). Then Winter starts. Currently there is only "FALL" specials (with a little bit of run over). Jan offers should show up Sept or October (sept 16th if I had to guess) or whenever the current offers expire. (there is conflicting information as some foreign offers have a later end date).

Last year Oct 10th was winter release date I think...Disney visa holder first and then GP a couple days later.

^^ That sucks. I remember many years past it came out in late July to mid August. I would be renting a DVC if the discount isn't right for me or nil but it will be hard to rent a DVC in October for January.

We are waiting on discounts here too. We decided to plan a trip Jan 2- 10. I'm hoping the previous two years discount dates hold true about starting Jan 2.

Now if I could get cheap rates on airfare. $300 from New Orleans to Orlando seems a bit high, but we don't fly so I don't have anything to compare it to.

We are booked! Hoping for a RO discount. There are only two of us so free dining doesn't really offer an attractive discount option for the way we eat. We don't get dessert or drinks with our meals at all, maybe later in the day. Even a 20% would be welcomed :)

I did finally get an email from Disney Destinations (no pin, just a "complete your booking!") So maybe they will send me a pin now that I followed their directions!! Haha.

Airfare is all relative to your location so I'm sure others close to LA can chime in for what they've paid for in the past. As I'm across the country I've come to accept that $368 is the cheapest I'll find.

I finally figured out how to add a picture to my post :cool1:
Here is what the promo was for 2013...2014 will be a repeat just with a minor change in dates...

I wonder if S/P/D really require 5/6 or is it like Free dining where they promote 5 nights 6 days but really only require 3 nights stay with 2 day tickets?

I am doing a value and we might actually do our first night off site in Titusville to do Kennedy Space Center then come back to do WDW.

I figured RO would probably be our best bet since we will only actually do 2 park days and we don't plan any expensive dinners at this point. But an overall discount might even things out.....

in January 2013 it was 3 night 1 day park ticket if I remember correctly.

I'm hoping for free dining in January.

They did not offer free dining last January and the pin codes that have been going out for January 2014 have been for the stay, play and dine plan. We were disappointed not to get free dining when we were there this year. Instead it was either a room discount or the plan.

I really would not get your hopes up when it looks like history is going to repeat itself. :(

I am ok without free dining. It would be great but even if it was just s/p/d, I would be happy. If it saves me $50 or more I smile. We booked our trip without needing a discount so it will just be an added bonus. *still hoping though*

a friend of mine got an email code which was up to 30% off a deluxe, wish I could get a pin code! :confused3;)

I almost want to just rent points and do a DVC, but then I'm locked in and that just messes with my OCD. :rotfl:

^ THIS. I also am thinking of just renting a DVC but then i KNOW some kind of good deal would come out and I'd be stuck. :confused3

I rented points two years ago for Bay Lake Tower and even when the codes came out, I still saved like $100-200 with my ressie through Daves's DVC. The only problem was that I couldn't change my mind once I booked it and that finality bothered me. You can't adjust your dates, not sure what would happen if there was a snow storm and we couldn't fly? Luckily the snow storms we have encountered have kept us in Disney an extra day or two. :cool1:

I rented points for this upcoming January and no matter what kind of deal Disney may offer I'm still going to come out ahead. I compared what I'm paying for a 7 day split AKL Kidani Savannah View/BCV stay with Dining Plan to the "Stay, Play & Dine Plan" and I'm saving $1,200 for the week! Even if they offer a great room only discount, I'll still be ahead. :teacher:

Emmebelle - I understand the "locked in" / OCD thing, but that's what trip insurance is for ;)
