January 2012 - no husbands allowed

BBB reservations have been made - do you know how hard it is to accomodate all these kids??????? We haven't event left for Disney yet and they are alreday proving that there is power in number and we are in for trouble

I’ve always been of the school of thought that it doesn’t matter where you stay as long as you go and have fun. But as of late I’m tickled pink to be staying on site again and to take advantage of the free dining promo!!!!!!!!!!!

Look what I found at the thrift store today - brand new in it's package for only $5 - still has the $29.99 Disney Parks sticker on the bottom of it

Another day another change - no surprises there right:confused3

Christy and Parker are no longer going to be joining us. Just too much going on for their family right now to make it all fit together.

Janet would still like to find another friend to join her and help offset the cost of her room (double occupancy is a killer if you only have one adult - since Jess & I have teens we don't feel the punch as bad b/c they are already charged at an adult rate for tickets and stuff - we are used to it)

If that doesn't pan out then my DH may be joining us for our "No Husbands Allowed" trip - how is that you may ask - I know I ask myself so don't feel bad:rotfl: He's been "grumpy" acting whenever the topic of our Disney trip comes up. For a man who said he has no desire to ever go to Disney again he's certainly not excited to be left behind - lmao. So if Janet doesn't find anyone to share her room he will be added onto her reservation and I'll pay her something to offset the double occupancy charge that she is facing. We don't want to upgrade our room b/c the rest of our GG will be staying at Pop and I can't imagine paying the price to have 2 rooms when there is space in with our friend - from camping experiences we already know the kids are going to just bunk where every having a sleep over every night so our rooms will never have the assigned sleepers anyway.

Jessica's husband has a friend that lives in Tampa that he's been trying to make it down to see. As long as his college classes pan out the way he's planning he's going to tag along for the drive down and then spend that week visiting with his friend - this will save on fuel or airfare plus give an extra adult to help with the long drive so it's a win/win situation for them.

Wow, you've changed your plans almost as much as I have!

Great score on the tree. :)

So I've been busy browsing through the Creative DISigns section here. I love all the designs and think it's amazing that people share them freely.

So I wasn't able to find an invite for the boys that I loved but I did find some cute graphics and an invite with wording that was perfect so I combined them and this is what I got

Here's what the Knight Package invites say as borrowed from shadowryter

Hear Ye, Hear Ye!
Sir Devin, you are hereby invited to stop into our Royal Boutique and be magically transformed into a valiant knight.
Your transformation will prepare you for far off adventures filled with slaying dragons and stopping mischievous doers in their tracks.
We await your arrival at the BBB on January 22nd at 1:20 pm

Welcome to the nut house:cheer2:

Sorry, the passports were claimed yesterday and mailed off today.

I love all the cards and creations. That's one area where I just don't get very crafty... I always end up forgetting that I made them anyway! I've learned to stick to things I can't forget, like clothes and park bags.

I happy to post that it has been almost 2 weeks that our little group has been change free. We've had lots of thoughts (should we swap dinner at Coral Reef for a lunch at Le Cellier) but in the end I think we are very happy with where we are now. I would like to try to get an earlier ADR for Chef Mickey's after our AK day but so far no such luck.

Wow -- all those invites and cards and tip envelopes are terrific!! great job!

Love the Xmas tree!!

Also, I see that your dates have changed!! We are back to overlapping dates and I sure hope I see you on this trip (and not just your handwriting!:rotfl2::rotfl:)

I'm actually in process of redoing our whole schedule. We are probably getting AP and this allows us more flexibility and we can park hop which we like to do.

That's awesome, this is actually the second time that we should have purchased annual passes but when we just didn't know it at the time of the first trip.

Printed a few more itmes for our trip.

Not sure if we will get time to do this or not but the older kids would love to do the photo scavenger hunt around the resort

I ordered some bulk pins off ebay for the kids to use as traders - will put a few on each of these cards for each of the kids

Since we are going to have 2 days at the Magic Kingdom and there will be closures with Big Thunder and Dumbo plus not sure if it will be warm enough for Splash - if we have time I'll pull out another scavenger hunt for the kids to go run around on Tom Sawyers Island - they are printed on postcard size paper

Finally, pick a pearl certificates for the girls - I have the carriage pearl cages from ebay for them each to display their prize.

And one last photo - Devin had a family project to disguise a turkey from the farmer to save it on Thanksgiving - check out our family's turkey

Oh and surprise, surprise - we may have a change. None of us are happy with our 6:50 time for dinner at Chef Mickeys. I've been looking every day but can't find anything earlier, even slitting our party up. Which leads me to believe that my hopes of showing up early at 6 and being seated early will not happen.

I looked on a whim today and we can get into a late morning breakfast at Tusker House, the characters are about the same so Jess and I are in favor of changing this meal so that we can free up our evening. If we don't make it to DTD on our arrival day we could do that or take the evening to spend at the resort and let the kids do the scavenger hunt and get into bed early. I need to wait to hear from Janet before I make the changes but I'm sure this is what we are going to do.

We've all weighed in and Chef Mickeys has been canceled. I really enjoyed our breakfast there on our last trip but I think I will enjoy the free evening with no ADR more.

Received my trading pins from ebay (62 cents a piece is a lot easier to stomach than the $8+ at the parks - I buy lots from ebay and then the kids can trade them for ones that they really want).
