January 2012 code watch :-)

Wouldn't mind a discount for the few nights we're staying at ASMovies before our cruise. My DH & I are taking a gaggle of kids and grand babies and already have three nights reserved starting on the 31rst of December. I was surprised to see that New Years Day is not the beginning of the value season as it has been in the past...oh well a discounted night before and after the cruise will still help.

When do the packages open for January?

My sister wants to go the first week. I went on the Disney World website to get a ballpark on price and it would not accept the dates.

They usually come out in July or August...keep watching for it on these boards-when it comes up you will know. TAs can usually get the info before the wdw site is open for ressies, but someone here will post that too:thumbsup2

I was going to do a Feb code watch...can we update this thread (if OP feels willing ) to do a Jan/Feb 2012 code watch?

We are hoping for Free Dining over here.....selfish, I know. But thats what we are wishing for :O)

Feb 2-10th , looking forward to the packages coming out!! Hopefully they will be out before the ADR reservation window opens!!!!

Going in August with free dining for 10 days on a bouncebackoffer! Thinking about going again in Feb 2012 for a shorter time frame if they offer free dining.:goodvibes

I checked aaa last night and just now, and it says sold out for every hotel in wdw for our january dates:confused3

What are your dates? I booked Pop for Marathon weekend. 1/4/12 to 1/9/12. I did it on the phone with Disney. She offered me preferred pool view but I told her I wanted standard so she offered me preferred (non pool) but when I still said I wanted standard she had that too.

Dates are Jan 11-14th. I checked on line though, so maybe that's why... I have an email in to my TA.
If you don't mind sharing, what is the aaa rate for a standard Pop room in January?

So I looked it up for you and just discovered....

Rack rate for standard room value season is $89 I am paying $80.10 with AAA for Wed Jan 4th and Sun Jan 8th. With tax it is $90.12.

Rack rate for marathon weekend for standard room is $109.00 and I am NOT getting any discount on that. The CM didn't mention that those dates were blacked out she just gave me a total price.

In total I'm paying $548.10 for 5 nights. I am committed with a friend to do this marathon thing (seemed like a good idea a few months ago :rotfl:) so I guess I'm happy just to have a room booked. And sharing the cost with her it won't be too bad. I hope to get some sort of AP discount but I guess I won't plan on it.

I looked up your dates and the rack rate on a standard room for Martin Luther King weekend (1/13 to 1/15 Fri to Mon) is $114. I bet those are blacked out for AAA too.

Just saw that the All Stars are cheaper than Pop for 2012.:confused3

Value season standard room at Pop is $89 but $84 at All Stars.
Marathon is $109 at Pop and $104 at All Stars.
MLK is $114 at Pop but $109 at All Stars.

How strange is that? I thought they changed from building the other half of Pop to Animation Inn because Pop was "unpopular". I never did believe that line but how can they say that and then charge more for Pop? Unless they will offer more discounts at Pop.
