January 2011!!!!!!!!!

So I was all geeked up to make my committment to WDW yesterday. Put in my vacation request to my boss, snuck around on my computer attempting to make a down payment while at work, and wouldn't you know there's a major roadblock (I don't want to wait to do this!!!)
I've been buying Disney gift cards weekly from DD's school Scrip program, so I have a bunch of $25 cards to put down on my vacation. I keyed in the first one and the Disney website informs me that the remaining $175 must be made by a different form of payment, I can only use one gift card. :scared1:
Sooooo, my down payment is now on HOLD :headache: which gives me more time to obsess :sad2: and keep changing my mind. I was going to just call yesterday but never got a private moment to do so, because I'm guessing if I actually talk to a CM I will probably be able to use all my little gift cards.
DD has committed us to CBR, but I'm thinking POP because then we can stay longer and I guess we're going to try to go Deluxe on the dining plan, although, I still think I can get away with the regular plan. :yay: I reeeeeally want to stay at the Polynesian, but I just can't do it. Stupid economy. (Oh lottery!!!! I needs a winner!)

Then DH throws a major wrench into my plans and says that now he thinks he'll go on his days off, but he only wants to go to Epcot. I'm making my ADR's now. I guess I can always change everything but CRT.

See - this is why I need to book this thing and close my laptop and just walk away until 2011 is upon us! Too much obsessing LMAO! :rotfl2:

ohh no!!! isn't that strange about the gift cards.. good luck!!

Just decided to book Poly CL for our Jan 13th - 18th trip. We were planning on waiting till we were there next week to see what the current bounce back is and if it switched to including 2011, but since there is 40% off room only we really can't complain about that! I decided to book club level but am not sure if we'll keep that or switch out, we can decide if it's worth a $450 upgrade (after discount) once we try it out next week. :cool1:

Five of us DH. DS, me, my parents at OKW in a 2 bedroom Jan. 21-29th so stoked. It will be the first time my parents have gone with my DS. They are so excited that we asked them to go with us. What made it better was the 40% discount yesterday.

We will be there for a family reunion. 13 of us at the AKL 1/10 - 1/16.

Several of our group, well most of our group have never been there so any suggestions would be welcomed. We are a grand gathering and got to sign up for the Illuminations event. Can't wait.

We (myself, DH, DD10 & DD5) just updated our reservations with the FD deal. Staying 6 nights POP (1/11-1/17), 5 day hopper & upgraded dining from QS to regular DP...SAVED $700!!!! Now the countdown really starts!!

Now all I will be stressing about is what the weather is going to be like. We have never been there in Jan, so hoping it isn't really cold! We will be driving down from SC, so unless things are really bad it should at least be warmer down there!!

We're going January 21- February 2, staying at Pop with free dining. We upgraded the dining from QS to the regular plan. It will be our first time staying at Pop and our 2nd trip to Disney World!!! I really wish Pop had a spa by the pool, but I couldn't justify the price difference between a value and moderate when the only drawback for us was the spa. Now I need to get busy making my dining reservations :)

Jan 23rd to the 30th ASMu....CANT WAIT....FREE DINNING...park tickets for 2 people 5 days, dinning plan, hotel room.. only $1300!!!

Just booked our first family vacation to see the Mouse on Jan 4 - 10 :cool1: DS is almost 2 and LOVES Mickey and the Duck (his name for Donald), so I'm extremely excited to see his reaction.

....then grandma and grandpa will be flying home with DS while DH, DSis, DBros, and I head to Universal Studios for two days! Harry Potter here we come!

So if anyone sees a grown woman absolutely beside herself at the WWoHP on Jan 11, that would be me :jumping1:

Let the official countdown begin! :cheer2:

edited to add: Almost forgot..we're staying in ASMovies

:cool1:Booked.
Pop Century, upgraded to regular DDP, went for the preferred room in an attempt to make up for not staying Deluxe, 7 days park tix, Jan. 9-15. Had no problems paying over the phone with all my little gift cards, unlike the website. (So weird.) Now just to get it paid off!
How often do you change your dining plans? I think I've booked or tried to book every restaurant at least once. :rotfl2:

WL for us Jan 22- Jan 29th! We can't wait! :yay: Loved the 40% off code - now come on good weather and low crowds and our trip couldn't get any better!

Booked it this moring Jan 29-Feb 5 at ASMu with free dining...saved $800.Now hope the rest of the family gets on the stick and books theirs.

11 of us are going to be there from 1/21 - 1/24. We're staying at BLT and have dinner reservations at California Grill, Biergarten, and 50s Prime Time Cafe. Can't wait!!!

Who has stayed at Pop Century before? I'm still on the fence about staying there instead of a moderate. I'm sure it will be fine, unless DH can join us, in which case we would be much more comfortable in a room with two queen beds instead of the doubles. I know PC has rave reviews all over these boards, so I should prob stop worrying about it. :rolleyes1

TGIF!!!

TGIF!!!

We stayed at Pop in 2009. My son and I loved it, and my DH and DD liked it just fine. We stayed for 2 weeks and that was a bit too much time in a smaller room. We liked the resort for the great food court, good shopping and the bus stops that are only for that resort.

I think the only moderate resort with queen beds are Coronado Springs. I know the room we stayed in at POFQ only had double beds. We found them adequate, considering the larger room size.

Best of luck with your decision and vacation.

Hello everyone,

We are going for 2 weeks starting at the tail end of January. We liked going a week earlier but DH could not have that week off, thus took a week after in February.

What started off as a trip of only our family, happily changed into a Grand Gathering of DH's family coming down with us. What shocked me the most is that they love FW, and due to the awesome offer of free dining have now booked for POFQ with us. :woohoo: I just hope they like it as much as we do.

I had already booked all our dining reservations, but now may have to switch some around to dine together. DMIL wants to go to Brown Derby, but if we are going to spend 2 credits on a meal, we want to do a Grand Gathering event. Has anyone participated in one of them and really liked it? I think we can convince them for the Illuminations one.

We are really looking forward to the Grand Gathering as this may be the last time the teenagers in the group wish to go and we can all have time off together.

May we all experience low crowds, no major shut downs of the good rides, wonderful weather and happy people wherever we go. I wish everyone a great trip, and fun while planning it.

Remmy:flower3:

I'm sticking with Pop and secretly praying for one of those fabulous upgrades some people said they got last year. :littleangel: We'll be in the parks the majority of the time. In the big picture, it's really not a big deal. I keep adding ADR's; I should probably try to upgrade to DxDP at this point! And I'm so out of the loop since we haven't been to WDW in four years that I didn't know Spoodles was gone; which was DH and my favorite place to eat. :sad1:
DD really wants to go to 50's Prime Time, so I booked that, but I could pass on that one since the menu looks an awful lot like how I tend to cook at home.:rolleyes1 (I am in the Midwest, after all... Meat, Potatoes, Noodles, Sassage...) DH is making fun of me for planning my entire vacation around food. Isn't that the point of Free Dining???

Hey look! I finally got a ticker!

We're going 1/28-2/5 :yay::yay::yay: I got the 40% room discount at the Beach Club. Whoot! Whoot!!

We went the same week 4 years ago (sniff sniff, so sad so long ago!) And the weather was perfect!! A little chilly in the am, but by lunch time it was in the high 70's low 80's. Shorts and T's, the sweatshirts came off and went in the back pack. We even swam! But then again, we are New Englanders after all, my kids are swimming in June when the water is 60 degrees and the Ocean doesn't get warmer than 75 degrees in the height of summer!:scared1:
