January 2010. . . Anyone else going???

Same thing happened to us, the wheels and handle on the larger suitcase broke last year. I just gave DH his anniversary gift (it's today, 6 years), a Delsey Helium Fusion 29" suitcase. It's really nice, sturdy, and inexpensive online. The reviews I read on it were very good. It is black but I always put some obnoxious ribbon on it, but they also have a bright blue. Good luck!

Happy Anniversary!!

Thanks so much for the anniversary wishes. We're heading out to dinner soon. My gift "is still in the mail" I'm wondering if it's Disney trip related ;)

:cool1: We're leaving a day earlier than planned! :cool1:

Our kids are getting out of school early on Friday 1/15, so we're going to hop in the car and get going a day early! We couldn't get an extra night at WL, so we're stopping in Jacksonville, FL and will get to Orlando by 11-12pm in the morning. MUCH Better than driving 8-9 hours on Saturday, then hitting a park. :cool2:

I think this might be our longest trip to Disney ever! :cheer2:

Oh and about the weather... brrrrr... I think we're going to be wearing a *lot* of pants? I'm glad I don't have to pack for a plane trip because I'm going to bring a lot of everything (short sleeves and long, shorts and pants, extra jackets if needed). I won't mind not sweating my butt off in Disney, though! :thumbsup2

Oh and the fact that the WL was booked solid for Friday 1/15 - does this mean the parks will be busy, too? Hmm! I think I'll prepare for busy and hopefully be surprised with it not being so bad!

You are talking about MLK weekend, so I would expect it to be a bit crowded. We went on the Friday before in 2008 and MK was pretty crowded even though it was sort of rainy/misty all day. It's great that you will get an extra day!! Have fun!

Hi there! I'll share my grocery order... For an 8 night stay we order, seltzer water, bottled water, a few apples and bananas, clorox bleach wipes, lysol, milk and diapers. We use Garden Grocer and love their service! It is nice to have some drinks and snacks in the room for the convenience. And it is soooo nice not to have to pack diapers!!

ENJOY your trip to WDW and your cruise!

How do you time your deliveries to the room? Our flight gets in at 10:30 so we won't be to the hotel until around noon, but then we can't check in until 3p I think...I am going to need to order some milk so I don't want it to be sitting there for too long...

Also, do you think the frig will fit a gallon of milk? We are staying in a room at POR? Thoughts?:confused3

Thanks,
Robyn

Luggage services have fridges so if they deliver when you are not there they will hold it for you.

So, we changed some ADRs last night. But since I originally made my ADRs at 6 AM, by myself, last night's work really got DH excited.

We have CRT and Kouzzina on 1/22.

Then we HAD Mama Melrose for lunch on 1/23. We are now going to cancel that and added The Plaza Restaurant for 4:35 dinner. We'll wing it at DHS and the boardwalk for breakfast and lunch.

1/24 has dinner at Raglan Road. We added two things and expect to cancel one. First, we made a back-up princess breakfast ressie at Akershus in case we don't get to CRT for weather. Then, what we really hope happens....is the Donald Breakfast at Tusker House.

Never though to do a back-up breakfast plan. We're kicking ourselves a little, but DD doesn't know about that part anyway. It's probably her parents that will be disappointed. :rotfl:

So I pulled out out suitcases yesterday - only to be reminded - our last trip the wheel broke off the one case, and the zipper on the other. So I have been luggage shopping and I am not liking anything I see. Anyone have reccomendations for tried and true luggage?

i have purchased from the local Sampsonite outlets the last two times (over 5 years ago). we use our luggage often (4-5X per year) but generally about once a year for airline travel. it has held up well.

Best of luck! I am trying to measure mine and apparently i dont own anything that will fly without a fee (on southwest), what a bummer!

Countdown is on! We leave Saturday.

I thought I already posted on this thread, but must've been another. So here it goes...

:banana::banana::banana:Jan 22 - 31 Two nights CSR and 7 nights BWV:banana::banana::banana:

Taking my mom  for her first trip in 25 years!

Tomorrow after the kids get out of school we will be heading to Grand Rapids to spend the night before our 7 AM flight the next morning. I finially just finished packing as well. SO tomorrow will be an easy day I think.

Hello! When you order with Garden Grocer, you can choose your delivery time. They deliver to bell services at your resort. In the past we have always received a call on our mobile phone telling us the delivery has been made the resort. If we are in our room already, we call bell services to bring up to the room. If we are not in our room yet, bell services will hold the bags (including keeping the milk cold) and then when your room is assigned you have them bring it up. I can't speak for the size of the refrigerator in PO but we've had a gallon of milk fit in the fridge at GF, POLY, SS and WL just fine!
ENJOY!!

So I had to change my birthday dinner but I think it may be for the best. I originally had a reservation for LTT at 6:30 and then found out that spectromagic would only be on that night while we are there (and at the MK) so the dinner time would not allow us to watch the parade. So I changed it to Grand Floridian Cafe. The menu looks good and now I can order a cake for the GF bakery :)

I second the recommendation of Delsey. You can read the reviews on ebags.com I got 3) 25 inch Delseys at Kohl's department store. (one for each of us).

Then I picked out rolling carry-on's with sleeves on them. The sleeve slips down on the handle of the 25 inch Delsey so you can roll them together, leaving your other hand free.

The rolling carry-on's are Boyt and Ebags brands.

I agree about not getting black. We got silver/gray Delseys. I put bright green straps around them because I have this fear that I'll be one of those people that the zipper breaks and their stuff spills out everywhere in the airport. Ha!

We use rainbow straps for the same reason!
I will hopefully complete my luggage purchase this week. Unfortunately we're under severe carry on restrictions coming from Canada - so we're allowed 1 bag without wheels, and yes a purse counts as a bag, therefore my purse is going in the biggest non wheeled carry on I can find!

I wish the US did non-wheel carry-on restrictions. It's always the "same" person--a short person, overstuffed bag, shirt riding up the belly, trying to shove a "carry-on" into the overhead while everyone else waits, seatbelts on, looking at the time, WAITING for this person to finish because they boarded late. GRRR......

On the other hand, we will probably carry-on a wheeled bag to avoid being charged, but it won't be overstuffed and 6'1" DH who boards early to install the carseat will load and unload it.
