Good day, Snowbirds!! I'm so excited for all of you who still have your trips to look forward to. I hope you all have a magical trip.

Checking in this morning to give you some post-Disney trip details . . . that is, if you all want them. I prefer not to do an official TR. I'm more comfortable here with my fellow Snowbirds!

Our trip was fantastic from start to finish. Our flights were on-time on the way down and we got to DH's sister's house with no problems. We enjoyed some time there and rested our heads for the night before heading to Disney on the 6th. We didn't expect to have much time on the 6th for play but were able to extend our day so we had lots of time to enjoy the parks.

We checked in to the Wilderness Lodge at 11:30. Our room was ready and waiting for us, just as I requested . . . inner courtyard. Room 5041. The WL was beautiful. I loved spending time just walking through taking everything in. Here are some picutres. Sorry they are so big.

We spent ample time in all of the parks. The first two days were fairly crowded (relatively speaking of course). We waited 40 minutes for Big Thunder Mountain Railroad but most other things were empty. The rest of the days were completely empty. Even with the marathon, things were fairly dead.

We had some great dining experiences, although I gained 4 lbs last week :scared1: We ended up not going to Crystal Palace for dinner and went to Whispering Canyon instead. It was a fun time and DS enjoyed the antics. We also enjoyed Chef Mickey's, Ohana, LeCellier and we LOVED the Hoop Dee Doo.

DS proved to be a dare devil. He just eeked though the 40 inch rides with about 3/4 of an inch to spare. He rode Tower of Terror 3 times, Test Track, Soarin, Dinosaur, BTMMR . . . everything he could ride, he did ride. He wanted to ride Space Mountain but was, obviously too short. We assured him that on his next trip he would be able to ride.

Random trip pics to come . . .

Hello all!
I have to admit I have lurked for the last 2 days. :surfweb: It took me that long to read everyone's posts.
So, I have a stupid question. :rolleyes1 Am I a snowbird even though I live in sunny California? We leave for WDW on Saturday the 24th at 12:30 am!!! DS (14) has to be at winterguard (Drumline) rehearsal until 9:30pm so we had to do a red-eye. :crazy2:
Can you believe I just booked the vacation on Saturday???? :scared1: I am completely insane, but my husband just changed jobs and starts the new one the first week of Feb. so we decided what the heck. Cashed in frequent flyer points, and booked Yacht Club CL. I have never had less than 6 months to plan and am in panic mode right now. But I have to tell you, reading everyone's posts has made me better prepared.  So, thank you all! :grouphug:
I really LOVED the 'live' reports! I hope it stays nice. :flower1:
For those of you leaving this week, have a fun and safe trip! :cutie:
:disrocks:

:welcome: to the Snowbirds! Wow. I don't know if I could do a last minute trip, but I know my DH sure could! Anyways.....we're arriving on the same day so that's awesome!

It's super cold here today. High of 8:scared1: and tomorrow and Friday are supposed to be even colder. This trip cannot come fast enough!

When my DH was getting ready for work this morning, he said, "I think I see throwing up in my near future." Wonderful. Just great. The sickness has now passed to him. I told him it's better to get it out of his system now! We leave in 10 days!!!!

Winterguard? As in drumline and/or colorguard?

Yes.... we have both a cadet and senior guard..... the show was great.... our cadet class finished second and senior class won... they compete all winter getting ready for nationals in Dayton OH...... I don't have a child in guard... both mine were in field band though.... but I am President of our Booster organization so I help at all the events....

Thank you for your kind words about my art! Sorry I haven't been around for a while here. Disney World is one of my favorite subject matters. I am planning on co-majoring in art. I had an awesome time in Disney World! I'm looking through my pictures now, hopefully something will be inspiring for another painting! :cool1:

Thanks for checking in----love your painting!!
Good morning Snowbirds!

It's cold cold cold here at 5 degrees! Who knows what the windchill temp is. And tomorrow morning is supposed to be way worse.

6 more days!!! :cool1:

I just checked and guess what??? My arrival day forecast has changed again! Remember is was 58, the 63, then 73 (just yesterday), it is now 51. :scared1: That was supposed to keep going up, not down!!!

Go to the Orlando local weather channel(channel 13) --I check theirs too. It has it cold this week, but all that I have looked at, has it warming up into the 70s for the next week.

Mindy.... what wonderful photos.... I am thinking about dining at Whispering Canyon.... what can you tell me about it....

Good Morning everyone!! Well, we are cold here!!! I feel for all you Northeners going through this crazy freezing weather!! I am definitely not acclimated for that!!!! We are dropping into the 30s at night and it's freezing us!!!!

Mindy, love the pics---Ry is a little doll!!!!Did he have a blast or what?!! Did you do any EMH and have to keep pulling out y'alls tickets for each ride? How is that working out? I guess I will have to buy the kids a lanyard there if we have to do this. I dont want to keep getting out mine and all 3 of theirs every line we are in. Hopefully they will go back to the bracelets!!! Well, I am just trying to keep everyone well and get this school work going on track!! They are a little bit ahead in a couple of subjects, so if they aren't finished by Thurs, Friday should be really short. Thank goodness, cause we are telling them (somehow) on Thurs. Afternoon. :cheer2: Keepin' them focused on school after that will be fun.

Mindy.... what wonderful photos.... I am thinking about dining at Whispering Canyon.... what can you tell me about it....

I was not feeling all that great that evening, so the night was kind of a blur. I remember having BBQ ribs, baked beans and some corn on the cob. There was lots of protein. My husband ate himself silly . . . beef, ribs and something else that I can't remember.

I remember seeing other people order milkshakes that looks super yummy and they were unlimited.

Honestly, I couldn't have eaten another thing that night. I was completely stuffed.

The atmosphere was lovely. NOISY! DS liked riding his horse around and he like the way the servers galloped their trays around. We did NOT ask for ketchup but enjoyed watching other people deliver their bottles to other tables.

We'd probably go back.

We did not do any EMH and honestly, there was really no need for us. We, literally, did everything that we wanted to do without needing the extra time. By evening, Rylan was much too tired to go back out. I took him to see Spectro one night but we didn't make it to any fireworks. That was the ONE thing we didn't manage.

We did use some fastpasses here and there but it was more of a precaution. The only thing we needed FP for was Toy Story Mania. I kept all of our cards in the pocket in the strap of my Baggallini. It worked perfectly for us and I always had them close.

Yes, Rylan had a BLAST! He enjoyed everything. It was definitely a fun age to go to Disney.

Good news-My crocs just got delivered!!! Bad news- I should have ordered myself the next size up. :sad1: They fit ok, but I feel like my heel is hanging off the back slightly. When I look in the mirror, they look fine, but they feel kinda funny. I'm going to wear them around my house the next few days. I don't have time to return them. They'll have to do. I'm also going to be packing my sneakers, a few pairs of regular flip flops and my Uggs (I'm wearing them on the plane).

:cold: BBBBBRRRRRRRrrrrrrrr It's freezing here....single digits!

I have so much packing to do for us to leave by 4:30 am friday and now add an ENT appt for DS today! Both kids have ear infections again and ped. put them on meds but DS may need tubes AGAIN so we are off for a consult again. I want him to look at mine too cause I keep getting sinus ear aches. Fun for a plane ride huh.

Lovely trip reports! I can't believe it's almost our turn! Orange Lake and Mickey here we come! Now if I can figure which weather reports are the most accurate. I think I'll pack more pants and shirts than shorts and stuff. We can always buy other clothes there right....;)

I have my eye out for the reusable tree bags from the parks and then maybe a sweatshirt and something else.

I'm really looking forward to the popcorn.popcorn:: ..read too many posts on it and we are hooked on Target popcorn when we shop so hoping it's just as good! and Dole Whip!!

Ok, gotta get us going if we are going to leave friday! BBL

Good Morning Snowbirds...I'm so glad to hear about the lower crowds...I know I'm going near a holiday weekend, but its definitely not the busiest holiday in the world...I'll make do LOL

Well I leave bright and early in the morning!! I'm going to pack my car tonight and have it all ready so I just have to wake up and go LOL!!!!!

I love hearing all the incoming reports and I hope to give you guys some live reports while I'm there!! Well I will talk to you all laterz, I'm bouncing off the walls today and I'm so hyper hyper hyper!!

Good morning Snowbirds! :cool1: :cool1:

Mindy--thanks for the report, and what GREAT pictures! Your little guy is such a cutie!

I like that second forecast better too! Highs in the 50s? What? Well, it will still be warmer there than it is here! On Saturday it's supposed to be colder here than it has been any time in the past 5 years. :cold:

Hope everyone who is not feeling well gets better before they go! :flower3:
