January 2009. . . Calling all Snowbirds ~ Part V

Drakes,
Glad Kitty is home and on the mend! We lost 2 dogs in less than one year so I know how scary it must have been for your family. But I am happy all is well!
Enjoy your trip!:grouphug:

dklam - Your cat looks like my cat's twin! Yes - I am so looking forward to escaping this - my high schooler is CONVINCED that they are going to cancel school tomorrow because of the cold - but since she lost two weeks already over the ice storm - I am doubting it.

Feel free to say  if you see me!!!

My LGMH- don't giggle- I tried my best to draw snowflakes on it!

Great Snowbird tag! I will look for that bag on the CBR beach on the 24th!! :cool1:

My boys are 12 (7 1/2 weeks and he is a teenager~at least that is what he told me this morning) :lmao: and a 14 1/2 year old. Oh my the time just flew by. I miss when they were young. They are cool teenagers now. :worship: :worship:
But thank goodness they are just like their mom and would rather be at WDW or Disneyland than any other place.
Enjoy your boys right now, they are at an awesome age!
Btw, they are Adorable!!!!

Thanks! :goodvibes I really dread the boys getting older. My 9 year old already wants to grow his hair long like his "cool friends" :sad2: and they both have girlfriends!

Great tag, Kim! :thumbsup2

I just printed out my Snowbirds and I need to figure out how I'm going to make my tag. I printed both my avatar and the snowbird logo that one of the DISigners made for us. Not sure what I'm going to go next.

I'm going to try to be at the Snowbird meet at DHS on Jan 22 (or should I say, ONE WEEK FROM TODAY! :cheer2: ). Who should I be looking for? :magnify:

Thanks Plutofan, that reminded me that I wanted to post that meeting today! :cool1:

ONE WEEK FROM TODAY~ THURS JAN 22 ~ SNOWBIRD MEET ~ DHS ~ 2:30pm for the 3:00 parade across from Sounds Dangerous!!!

:yay: :grouphug: :yay: :grouphug: :yay: :grouphug: :yay: :grouphug: :yay: :grouphug:

Drakes, I'm so sorry about your kitty! I sure hope everything is ok. That reminds me that I need to call our dogsitter today, just to make sure we are on the same page for her arrival time. I am a huge worrier, and the sitter usually arrives before we leave for the airport! I like to have her there already with the dogs, so when we leave they don't go crazy (they see those suitcases and get all uppitty). Hopefully you have a great catsitter that will make sure your baby is taken care of!

0 degrees, below 0? How do you guys do it?!? It is 78 degrees and pure sun here! What a difference! Although, I wouldn't mind a nice N. CA day, 30's and 40's would be perfect winter weather for me!

Samantha (DK or Dear Kitty) is a grey/tan/white shorthair tortoiseshell. She is by far, the best cat I have ever had and she was a shelter-cat. She is so loveable and I like to think it is because she knows that we "rescued" her from that cage.

Sorry to hear that you were in the part of the state that had that bad ice storm - here in the southeastern part of the state, we lucked out. So far - no snow days this year, which is fine with me because I would rather get out in early June rather than late June. As a matter of fact, the Principal is on the PA system right now saying "There is school tomorrow!" I guess that there are lots of rumors going around the building because some of the neighboring communities have canceled today and also for tomorrow. Fine by me - we have Monday off, then I work for 2 days, and then off to WDW!:yay:

Jeez, I think the cold affected my internet service. My laptop would not connect, and I finally got the desktop going. It's weird to sit down here in the office - I hardly ever use this computer anymore. But it's nice to sit by my luggage and piles of Disney stuff!!

Just got an email from the girls' dance teacher - even though there was no school, they ARE having dance class. Guess I have to go out after all. As long as I'm out, might as well hit Target right?

Does anybody know if either of the mini golf places are closed this January?? I couldn't find it anywhere?? TIA

Since there hasn't been anything published to the contrary, I would assume that all the mini-golfs are open. :confused3

My kids have asked about doing this. I'm trying to convince them to do the Oak Trail "real" golf course instead, since it's included in the Water Parks Fun and More tickets we have. They actually do golf so I think they would enjoy it. Maybe I'll just make a tee-time for it, and then tell them that's what we're doing! ;)

Shelly-Just curious....what website are you using to check the weather??

Okay, it's -5 outside (actual temperature) and I'm ready to be at Disney!!!

I have to share my funny (not really) story with you. So, I'm putting laundry away last night and said to my DH and DS, "daddy's job this weekend is to pick out his clothes and put them with the other stuff to be packed." My DH says, why are you in such a hurry, we have plenty of time! :scared1: You know what, if he doesn't have clothes to wear at Disney that's his fault. Okay, I don't think any of us are ready for that! Guess he'll have to be happy with what I pack him! :rotfl:

Too Funny! :rotfl: :lmao: Nope I don't think I am ready for that! :rotfl2:

Not to scare anyone that's flying, but a US Air flight that took off from NYC landed in the Hudson River. I guess they hit a bird that blew up an engine. Everyone got off safely though.

I was watching a bit. A US Airways plane went down off Manhattan into the river. They think some birds flew into the engine. It looks like they may have rescued everyone before the plane went into the water. They had life vests and rafts and the ferries all met them.
