January 2009. . . Calling all Snowbirds ~ Part V

My parents signed up for the chEAR squad for the marathon on Sunday. They'll have finish line grandstand seats, private bathrooms, and hot beverages. I was too cheap, so I shall be roadside with group port-a-potties and whatever I take with me for food and drink! But it'll be a blast!

I hope you all have a great time! Good luck to your DH for the marathon!

I am really feeling like a bum here today... I am still in my p.j.'s.... doing some computer work and just hanging around.... its so cold out and the freezing rain hits you like little bullets.... I went to get the mail and it was like I was being attacked.....

I did it. I went out into the freezing rain. The roads actually weren't bad at all. I didn't experience any sliding or anything! I got my hair cut and colored. It's a bit darker than I would have liked. I wanted chocolate brown with gold tones and it looks black! :scared1: I guess I'll have to wait for it to completely dry to see how it really looks. I always panic after I get my hair cut. I love it long, but sometimes it just needs to be cleaned up. My longest layer was just a mess (all different lengths) so I had to lose 1 1/2 inches to make it all even! It will grow back though. At least it's all nice and pretty for WDW! Now, I have to make appointments for my massage (gift from my DH for Mother's day 08) and for a pedicure. I will be wearing flip flops all week so the toes need to look nice. Flip flops are by far my favorite kind of footwear. Once it hits 40 degrees, I'm in flip flops! I wear them from April to October!

Pouring Rain :sad1: I hope they are still having fun. being soaked and dashing thru wind gust rain is never too much fun!

It poured the day DD did BBB. We had rain ponchos, we ate dinner at Askershus Princess Norway Dinner, the adult ponch covered her completely ! she loved dancing in the rain.

I know this has probably been talked about already, but I just can't believe my vacation is so close now. All the planning, DISing, worrying, booking, rebooking, unbooking, waiting for codes...its just all been such a crazy ride and its almost over. I know I should be excited because its almost time to go, but I can't help but think...." what do I do when I get home?" Does anyone else feel this way? I'm so happy for everyone who is down there and who is going in the near future. It's been a great ride and I'm so glad you guys kept this thread going for us January Snowbirds. Even my boyfriend makes me check on here and see if there's anything new going on. He even makes me sign in so he can look at my ticker everyday to see how many days are left. A great big thanks to everyone who posted here, I got so many planning ideas and it really helped build the excitement, even though I didn't actually post to this thread, you can be sure that I've been reading everday! So, a great big thanks and good luck to everyone on this thread!!! Have a magical time everyone!!! :cool1:

OMG I think I would have told that teacher if she wanted him to read the book then she needs to find it for him!! :rotfl: Well at least he has an extra day now. My boys hate to read too. They can read, they just don't want to read. Must be a boy thing. They'd rather be doing something else, anything else. All my friends that have girls tell me that their girls love to sit and read. I can't imagine my boys "sitting" and doing anything!!!! :lmao:

Actually, my little guy loves to read, or still at this age, try to read, especially, if the book is about dinosaurs or bugs!! :lmao:

Ughh... it's nasty over here too! I can't stand freezing rain. The stairs, sidewalk, and road outside my house are a skating rink. I hear the main roads are decent but to get out of my area is the problem. Since I don't have four wheel drive or decent tires, i'm stuck at home for at least the next couple hours. I feel like such a weeny but I hate ice!

So, here I am, DISing until I can get to work. What a shame!:rotfl:

Not a bad alternative.... :lmao: I hate driving in snow / ice, too. Last week wehen we were supposed to get that stuff during rush hour, my DH was off work. I asked him if he would take me to work, even though it meant him getting up at 6:30. He's such a sweetie - he didn't even think about it - and said he would. He knows I'd be a wreck before getting out of our subdivision!!

I can verify this...just got a text from Soleil..and she said it was pouring rain there LOL!!!!!!!!!!!

Poor Soleil! Hopefully they're still having a good time!

Yes, I often feel the exact same way..the cure start planning your next trip. I talked to Prince Phillip (my Non-DH) and I think I'm going to be able to go back in October for my birthday and anniversary for a short trip. So as soon as I get back I start planning that one and my mom's trip in December!!

Boy when I get the Disney bug I get the Disney bug WOWZER!!
