January 2009. . . Calling all Snowbirds ~ Part IV !!!

I think he's a superhero! :worship:

I think he's kind of crazy, actually.

But there was that "I want to run a marathon!" "oh yeeah? well i want to go to Disney!" conversation and... he gets to run a marathon at Disney. Ah, compromise!

(Marathon training is a LOT of work for both the runner and his spouse - he's gone for about 3 hours on long run days and up to two during the shorter run days. Luckily, he's got a ton of vacation, and does a lot during the work day!)

We're going to be headed back to the Pittsburgh area on the 26th. I'll wave as I pass by you Pittsburgh Snowbirds. :wave2:

Here's my updated countdown.

2 days til DS's holiday program at preschool
11 days til Christmas
12 days til Pittsburgh
16 days til DH's and best friend's b-day
17 days til Ddad's b-day
18 days til New Years and the Rose Bowl . . . We are PENN STATE!
22 days til we fly to Florida
23 days til DISNEY!!

What are you coming to Pittsburgh for? Do you have family here?

Good morning! It's 52 degrees here, but very windy. It rained all night, so all the snow is gone. My DD was mad about that. I told her not to worry!

Carrie- I hope that you and your family have a safe trip back to the States! How exciting!

Speaking of hair, I've never cut my DD's hair and she's 6! She's never even had a trim. She's been asking for one and my DH thinks I should just go and get it cut. I told him he's crazy! Her hair is very curly (like spiral curls) and it's long. When it's wet, it pretty much touches her bum. My hair was the same way. I didn't get a full out hair cut until I was 10 yrs old and I cut it into a bob! My mom cried as did my hair dresser (my mom's best friend). I'll probably take her to get a trim soon. I'm talking like 1/4 of an inch. I LOVE long hair! There have been times I get sick of my hair and I'll cut it right above my shoulders. However, being on a dance team, you pretty much need long hair. We wear it down and glamorous! :)

Hooray for long, glamorous hair! ( I wish there was a fabulous hair smiley.:cutie: ) I kept mine in a short bob from 7th grade until my senior year. Then I cut it once more when I was 18. I cried hysterically. I know I will have to cut it eventually, as I would probably look silly with this hair at 60, but right now I enjoy it very much.

Shelly (and other suprisers)- How are you planning on telling your children about Disney? I'm so excited for all of you!

I'm on hold right now. :hourglass

Good luck! I hope you get someone who knows what they are doing! I have told the last 3 or 4 people that I have talked to that they still have the boys ages wrong, but what do you know they are still listed at 8 & 6 on the reservation. :upsidedow Oh well!

Shelly (and other suprisers)- How are you planning on telling your children about Disney? I'm so excited for all of you!

How are we telling the boys??? :yay: :yay: Well they are going to open their "Santa gifts" first. Usually all the gifts are just scattered under the tree and about half of them are from us and half from Santa. This time they are going to open all the Santa gifts and then there will be one small box tucked away back behind the tree and we will give it to them last and tell them that we could really only get them one gift this year and they have to share it!! I will tell them to open it slowly. . . We'll see how that goes. . . It will be in layers. . . The first thing they will see is something that says something like - "We hope you like this gift - We love you - And you might need these. . ." under that will be 2 pair of Disney sunglasses. . . Then it will say - "And these. . ." under that will be 2 Disney shirts. . . Then it will say - "And these for the plane. . ." under that will be 2 Star Wars books. . . Then it will be the big reveal (as if they haven't figured it out by now) - "Because we are going to Disney in 26 DAYS!!!" Under that will be a Disney Countdown Calendar and it will tell them what we are doing on each day!! :cool1: I can't wait!!
