Hi, all! Just checkin' in! We are so close to going to Disney!!! I can't believe it!

And I fly to the US in just 4 days! Life here is insane! Honestly...crazy! But, good. We're tying up loose ends and making sure everything is ready. I just wish I could hop on the plane today!

So, fill me in! What'd I miss? What's everyone's news? What are all of our countdowns???

Hi All! I was not on the boards last night and only missed a few pages! Thanks!

I'm trying to get organized so I can leave my house and family for three days without too much guilt. After this morning, I wish I could go today! DD7 was terrible. So whiny!
I had to volunteer at her school for a half hour to help with a stand. The second graders were selling bottled water, cookies, candy canes and pencils to raise money to donate to the children's hospital. Crazy hectic! They're pretty good with the math, but needed lots of supervision.
I've got a bit of a sinus headache, I'm hoping it won't get worse. I'll suffer through the weekend with pharmaceuticals and see what happens.

Carrie - good to hear from you! You must be out of your mind with excitement!!

I'm supposed to be productive this a.m. at work, but not feeling the motivation. Might have to go look at pins or something! I'm getting off early today (YAY) and trying to figure out what I need to do.

Enjoy the snow down south!! We have about 6 inches on the ground and it's plenty cold, so it's not going anywhere.

QOTD- I haven't really thought about spending money for our DD. She's not one of those kids that sees something and has to have it, so that's nice. I think that this trip is just going to surprise her so much that she's not going to know what to do with herself! We probably won't give her gift cards to use or anything. We'll most likely just buy her the stuff that she really wants. She's by no means spoiled, but on this trip, I have no problem spoiling her rotten!

I can't believe that we're leaving in 45 days! That is so exciting! Today, I went onto allears and printed off some (ok, a lot!) of menus. I put them in a folder with the clasps. That way, we can just pull out the folder while we're in line and figure out what we want for lunch or dinner. I only printed out the menus that interested me, but there were still quite a lot of them! I put dividers in there to separate each park and DTD. I haven't told my DH yet and when I do, I know he'll think that I'm crazy! I don't have any more planning to do, so I had to do something!

Well, I'm off to teach ballet for a few hours. Be back later!

YAY - welcome to the printing out everything in sight to take with me club! I have menus for everywhere that we MAY want to eat. We'll do some planning each night and discuss possibilities so we won't have to stand and stare at a menu for minutes, and can get right down to it! I think it's fun and builds up some anticipation for the next day.

He may think you're crazy now, but wait until he sees how well the trip will go!!!! He'll be on his knees thanking you for your ultra-organization.

Wow I can't believe how slow this thread is moving these days. I remember when everyone thought we'd be on Part 5 before Christmas!

On part 3 we were to 130 pages in like 10 days!
This time it took us over 3 weeks!

I think we have all gotten extremely busy LOL!! Today has been a doozy in my classroom at least I can sit and regroup for a few minutes LOL!!

4 days until D comes home from college
5 days until D goes into a post-semester coma!
10 days until we light the first candle of Chanukah
18 days until we light all 8 candles of Chanukah
21 days until New Year's
23 days until MICKEY!

QOTD: Since D is now past the age of majority , we're just going to wing it as (usually!) responsible adults!

Awww! Thanks you guys! I was worried I'd lose you being away for so long! But you must be busy because the thread hasn't moved nearly as fast as I thought it would!

Another day and I'm able to hop on for a few minutes and try to catch up! I had a sick kid today, which is always so sad! My heart breaks for them. Today it was Scoty with a nasty cold and high fever. He looked so pathetic it made me cry. We're just praying we don't all get sick with the trip coming up and all!

It's hard to believe that I'll be in the USA on Monday! Yes, excited is an understatement! Today I got 5 of our suitcases completely packed. Like they don't have to be opened again. I packed them and weighed them and they are good. Well, one is slightly over 50lbs. I might have to reconfigure. We wanted to take just 8 suitcases, but because we're taking some olive oil soap (like 300 bars!) to sell on behalf of our relief and development project, looks like we'll be dragging 10 suitcases with us. Scot is not happy. What can we do!

But I'm alive. I'm still standing. Our drawers and closets are empty. What I see is chaos, but all the mess is right up in my face because the insides and underneaths of everything are cleaned out.

And I just found out my sister got my kids Disney Dollars for Christmas. Something else I need to learn about! How do those things work?

Hey everyone! Hope things are going well. I have been MIA because we started a "quick" renovation project in our den. The one week project to insulate has, of course, turned into a 2 week + project that involves new wiring and reframing (and quadruple the budget ). Total nightmare. Oh - and did I mention we have to turn the heat off so the guy can work? It's 35 degrees outside. Luckily we have 2 zone heating, so we can stay upstairs, but yuck!

Oh! And my parents are coming to visit next week - the new walls should be up, but all of our furniture/etc is shoved everywhere else in the house. I'm losing my mind!!!

I keep telling DH how many trips to Disney we could take with this new expense...

But while I'm spending money ... Peaches - olive oil soap! Where do you sell it?

I just checked online to see how crowded the WL would be while we're there and saw room availability for every room type. Wow. The low occupancy rumors appear to be true. Sorry for Disney, but happy for me!

I'm such a dork- I actually called Disney World and sadly- you can only buy gift cards online. I'm thinking of making my own fake Disney Dollars for the novelty of it and put them in the stocking. He's 4 and she's 1.5- they'll never know the difference

I don't know about everyone else but I am up to my eyeballs in holiday stuff. I'm baking Christmas cookies for our family Christmas party on Saturday then I have a Cookie Exchange on Sunday. It just seems neverending. I finally got all my Christmas cards stamped and ready to go today. I haven't even had time to enjoy focusing on Disney much lately which worries me because I have lots to do for the trip yet too!

And I just found out my sister got my kids Disney Dollars for Christmas. Something else I need to learn about! How do those things work?

Ooooh wanna sell some to me! They're worth $1 and spend just like regular dollars, only they're cuter with Mickey on them!

I don't think it would affect CBR since it is pretty popular right now with the new pool and the new rehab and all. At least I hope not!

You use to be able to buy the money too. I can check my disney store this weekend, and mail them to you. I use to buy lots for DS and DD to use.
But my kids are not big spenders at WDW, unlike their Mother.
I am the one who DH put on a budget. He gave me $150.00 to spend.

Hey Meghan, which Nintendo games did you get for your DD? My niece is the same age and is also getting a DS for Christmas, so I thought a game would be a good gift idea. My 10 and 8 year old boys are no help in choosing a game for a 6 year old girl. (LOL, I had it worded differently that you were getting a DS for Christmas, and it sounded like your daughter was going to have a little brother! )

I got her Carnival Games and Littlest Pet Shop:Winter. Those were two out of many that she wanted.

I enjoy organizing and planning very much. I did the menus of where we may eat as well. There are some days where we'll be eating both lunch and dinner at the parks, so I needed quite a few options!

I got Littlest Pet Shop: Winter for my DD9, too. And Tinkerbell for DD6. They're going to be so surprised we actually got them each a DS.
