Wow Wendy that is a lot to take in. . . I wish you the best of luck with whatever you decide to do. . . That was nice of WDW to let the rest of your party get the DDP and let you out of it. I didn't know they would do that. Have you talked to your doctor about the rides?

so I went ahead and said yes..... so now I am more stressed out... I have a large house that takes 2 solid weeks to decorate... while I love my boys.... they are useless when it comes to helping... DD is off at college... no family here... in-laws are coming for the Christmas holidays....oh my... can you tell I am stressed.....

okay... done whinning....

:lmao: Sorry, living in a house full of boys I found some humor in that!!

Good afternoon ladies.... quite the morning here... first... schools are being released because of a huge lake effect snowstorm heading our way. They are saying over a foot this afternoon / evening..... as long as I don't have to drive in it I am okay....

Some major stress was put on me today. I am having gastric bypass surgery. It was all set for February 09... well the doctors office called and they want to move it to December 3.... 12 days!!!!!!!! So I freaked out... so many concerns... getting house ready for Christmas... will I be able to enjoy Christmas... what about our Disney trip... will I be able to do the rides... I will miss out on all that great food.... I actually had to pull over to the side of the road because I was shaking.... I didn't know what to do.... called DSis... she says "Go for it"... called DMom...."Yeah she says".... called DH.... he says"You are perfect the way you are but if you want to do this then go ahead".... called Disney reservations... they will let me delete dining from just me and let the rest of the party have it... just need to bring proof of the surgery...

It's okay, you're not whining! You can take it easy this Christmas! That's what we're doing - we're not putting up as much decoration, but it will still be festive and fun. We're cutting out the small stuff. We'll still have trees, outdoor decos, and the big stuff that goes on top of other stuff and things ;)

Is your surgery going to be laproscopic? I've heard that it doesn't take long to do it, and your recovery should be fine. Just relax, take it easy and do what's best for you and your family in the long run. And you're going to Disney World in January with all of us. :grouphug:

That's not whining, Wendy - that's all rational! Now, I will admit that I've never decorated a house for Christmas, but would it be possible to pare down the decorating?

If not, I have a somewhat strange idea. When I was a kid, I loved decorating friends' houses & trimming trees. Later on, our office used to have our holiday party at individuals' homes. When we went to somebody's house who hadn't finished the tree yet, all the Jews decorated the tree, since we didn't have to do our own! If you're anywhere near Syracuse University, you might call their Hillel House and ask if they have any kids who'd like to help you decorate! Not only would it be fun for them, it would also be what we call a mitzvah - a good deed. A local synagogue youth group might have fun with it too, and you could give them all the specific instructions you wanted!

Good luck with the surgery! :grouphug:

So no one is up to talk to me I will have a conversation with myself...

Me....Good morning Wendy... how are things...

Me also....Great... how are things with you?

Me again....How is the weather?

Still me.... We are expecting a lot of snow today...

Okay... I am boring... I don't like talking to myself... I guess I will go wake up DS so he can get ready for school.... bye

SO FUNNY! :rotfl: :rotfl2: :lmao:

Just checked touringplans.com :

"The Universe of Energy at Epcot will be closed for refurbishment January 5 - March 22, 2009."

Bummer!!! I always enjoyed the UofE and I haven't seen the Ellen version yet. I know that my DD would have enjoyed the dinosaurs.

Diddly ding dong dang and poot! Double Triple Rats and and a great big shoot! :sad2: I was so looking forward to seeing this one! It was one of my faves all 3x before and I hadn't seen the Ellen version yet! I am REALLY upset! I was just telling my DH about this the other night and he thought it sounded SO COOL! I think he was actually starting to get excited!

called DH.... he says"You are perfect the way you are but if you want to do this then go ahead"....

What a truly wonderful man! He loves you the way you are while still supporting your decision to improve yourself! Hang on for dear life to that one Wendy! He is a keeper! You know your snowbirds will be here for you! I only wish we could do more to help! Make those men of yours work hard for you! Take it easy and don't stress too much! The world will not fall apart if your house is not completely decorated for Christmas! Your friends and family, I'm sure will be understanding and supportive of your choice to go ahead with the surgery a bit early! BIG HUGS! :grouphug:

WHAT?!?!? I'm hoping that's because you're closer to the lake than I am - I am NOT ready for a foot of snow. Not even close. I don't even have the snow shoes on my car yet! :scared1:

I am excited for you that the surgery was moved up, but I can totally understand the kind of pressure this puts on you! Wow!

Hmmm...I'm eating there for dinner!! The really sad thing is the one thing I'm looking forward to the most on the menu is being able to try the School Bread finally!!!

and the school bread is so good! I know you can find the recipe online, but if you ask for it at the restaraunt you get this cute recipe card. My MIL thought that was neat (the last Oct. trip was my in-laws first Disney trip and now they are HOOKED!)

At Akershus I ordered the Lamb Stew which was wonderful and my husband ordered the Cod. He said it was delicious as well! I was too excited about my girls meeting the princesses to really enjoy the food to its fullest, but isn't that the way first time trips go with your kids?? :lmao:

I don't know if we are aloud to post photos so smack me if we aren't, but this was my favorite picture taken in front of Norway as we were waiting to be called for our seating in the restaraunt. These are my two little princesses and my MIL made their dresses!!

Here are the rest of the photos from the trip that we took in Oct. last year if anyone is interested. You can see the details of the front of the dresses in some other pictures in the album. Here is the link: http://Divaostrich.winkflash.com

One of the things I am most looking forward to about my trip this Jan. is that my best friend (from Tampa....we both grew up near downtown Orlando five houses away from each other) has never seen Fantasmic or Illuminations!!! I am giddy with anticipation in watching these shows in general, but to share it with a first timer.....:cloud9:

looks like you all are getting some cold weather....stay warm!! We have had snow on the ground since the first of October this year! It usually starts to snow around Halloween, but winter is early this year.

Oh, one more piece of news - yesterday was the 45 day mark, so my trip is now (where's that drum roll icon???) :

Paid in Full!

:cheer2: party: party: :cheer2:

Now it'll cost too much to cancel, so we're going! :drive: (Yes, I know - we're flying, but there's no airplane smiley! )

They are SO CUTE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Afternoon Snowbirds! Popping in to say hello! :cool1:

I'm thinking about getting my Christmas stuff out this weekend too. The sooner Christmas comes, the sooner Disney comes! :santa:

Congrats Shelly and everyone else who has a 1 in their ticker! :cloud9:

And I solved my stroller dilemma. We're taking the ones we have to save money- I hate to spend $ renting one or paying for a swap. If we can't fit it, then my sister will put it on her roof rack for us since we are following each other down. :thumbsup2

Sorry I don't have much time to DIS this afternoon- I have so much to do and so little time to do it- but I'll miss all of you! :laundy: (Where's the smilie for cleaning a toilet cause that's where I'm headed? )

I haven't seen Illuminations yet and I can't wait!!! Love the pic (and yes you can post them) I'm so going to ask for the recipe card. I'll probably never make it but it will make a great souvenir in my scrapbook LOL!!!

Holy cow! Look at all of that snow!

We had a windchill of 19 this morning here in good ol' Memphis, TN. Way too cold for me, especially in my drafty old house (I appreciate my home's 'character' much less in the winter...). I am not ready for this weather either - looks like we're in for a looooong winter.

Hi Snowbirds. Haven't had the chance to check in for the last two days. I've missed a lot. I'm still at work but wanted to say hi.

I'll check in later or in the morning.
