She is very proud of her name actually and loves to pipe up and educate the world on her lovely name, but she has only been explaining for a few years :)

Now, I have to explain her sisters name too. Lyra. Its a constellation and a greek goddess of music (player of the lyre).

:)

Lyra is a beautiful name. My husband would love it - he was a professional musician for many years.

My mom and her siblings have very different names and she passed it down to us, as well. I promised myself to give my children normal names. Now I'm re-thinking that promise. :goodvibes

The Snowbird parade meet at MK.

Shelley, could you please update the Meet list to include our parade meet? It will be on January 20 at around 1:45 - 2:00 at Sleepy Hollow, just over the bridge from the Hub to Liberty Square.

Hope to see as many Snowbirds as possible there!!!!:grouphug:

Soleil,

I'm reading your trip report and noticed you worked at MGM entertainment in 2000. I did too!! We may have worked together....who knows? Small world!!

Good afternoon everyone! At least there weren't too many pages for me to catch up on!

I've had a rather long day, and I'm in pain. I fell off a ladder at work this morning. It wasn't a major distance, but when you are attempting to put a chair on a shelf and that stupid thing falls on you, then yeah, you hurt. So luckily I go to the chiropractor in about an hour and he can put me back together. I'm so ticked off about it though. It was crap that I wasn't supposed to be doing because the manager on duty last night was supposed to do it. He however, doesn't like moving stuff around when he wears khaki's :sad2: . He really just drives me nuts.

So yeah. I'll be back to talk later! Have a good afternoon.

Oh man, that stinks! What does he wear if he wants to move stuff around? Overalls? I hope you feel better!

Oh and the Nemo show. I went last year and we didn't wait in line at all. It was earlier in the month (Jan. 9th) in earlier afternoon. A couple of us ran ahead to get fast passes for Everest and the rest of us headed to Nemo. They met up with us there, and there was no wait. We sat inside for about 5-10 minutes before it started. We did sit in the "uncomfortable bleechers" but I liked it up higher because you could see more of the stage and everything that was going on.

Oh no!!!! That is not good at all!! I'm glad you aren't too injured...hope you have a productive appointment at the chiropractor.

Make sure you've filed an accident report, and see if worker's comp will pay for your chiropractor! Hope you feel better soon!

So sorry you got hurt...especially because of a fella that doesn't want o get his precious khaki's dirty. Does he know about a little thing called :laundy: ?

I need a little advice my Snowbird friends!
My dh drives a diesel truck which is not easy on the wallet when it comes to gas. He figures it cost us about $400 to drive. My little Ford Focus is much more fuel efficient but I'm not sure we can fit everything in it. We were set on taking the truck so we'd have room for everything and have to worry about the $$$ later.

So last night my father in law calls to tell us he's renting us a full size car from his work (Enterprise) and it's a gift to us. All we have to pay is gas! Woo Hoo!

Now for my dilemma. I was originally going to take two strollers- one full size Graco for baby (she still naps so I need a reclining one) and one umbrella Combi for my son. I'm not sure I can fit them both in the full size car though. I hate to spend the money to rent the uncomfortable plastic ones from WDW so I was looking online and found Orlando Rentals. It's $85 for the whole week for a double which isn't bad. I can't decide- use what we have and try and cram it in the car or spend a little extra dough and rent this one.http://www.orlandostrollerrentals.com/orlando-stroller-rentals-double-stroller.html :confused3

That's great about the car! Here's an idea. If you were going to bring a little umbrella stroller, would you be willing and/or able to stop at a Target or Walmart when you got to town and then buy a real inexpensive one just to use at WDW? Then you could leave it for someone there. I've read of people doing that. Then you wouldn't have to try to squeeze it in. Of course, if it's the bigger one that doesn't fit, you may ignore my idea! :) Oh one more thing - I'd say have your own or rent - don't use Disney's unless you can take it back to the hotel with you. Don't want to lug a sleeping child all the way from a bus stop to your room! Even if you have to take the child out to fold the stroller on the bus, you could put them back in for the walk to the room.

Could you borrow a double stroller from a friend? If your going to spend $85 for the week I'd look online (target has a great stroller dept online) and see if you could find a double unmbrella stroller. We are taking our large graco. DS is almost too big for our umbrella and w/ the graco he can lay down and we can stash stuff in the basket. You may even consider looking at second hand shops...If you get one cheap enough you can just leave it there when your done.

The reason I don't like the Disney strollers is that they are hard. They don't recline. There are 100's that look just like yours. They have to be left at the park. I hate walking back to the room with all the park stuff and a heavy limp sleeping kid. If you can bring your own!

What about a stroller swap? I found this one for you. But I am sure there are plenty more. I myself like the WDW strollers, wish I could fit in one.

I just wanted to pipe in on pre buying Photo Cd. I've pre bought 2 now and bought CD at WDW when they first started doing it. DH and I who are kidless have never had an issue getting our moneys worth. For a week trip I've never had less than 800 pictures. We always tell Photo ppl to snap away the cd is already bought.
I love being able to add borders once I get home. I also did some really cute editing with last trips pics by making photo black and white than adding borders
