First off, I have to get used to your new avatar. It's really throwing me off, but I love it! I would love to meet up with Shelly and others on Sunday, but I will be at Epcot that day. I really wouldn't mind putting together a list of where people will be on certain days. I can't do the whole month, but maybe we could volunteer for different weeks?? I can do my dates (Jan 24-31) for sure. Is this a good idea???
Glo-Lots of  to you right now. I have that everything works out ok!
Kayte and Sarah- You will be in my thoughts and prayers tomorrow. I hope that you will update us when you can on your surgeries.

Isn't she the cutest little Alice ever?
Thanks for all the info Snyky! ;)

So when does everyone think we will need Part IV ??? :rotfl:

Probably sometime next week I suppose. . .

I would think by Friday for sure--depends on this weekend!!
I so get this.... my birthday is December 26th..... the only one that thas done that to me is my husband... so I got him back the next year... I bought myself a beautiful braclet and wrapped itand put it under the tree and signed it from him.... then I acted all surprised when I opened it up.... thought that was a pretty good pay back...:lmao:

That is great!! I bet he NEVER forgets it again!! :lmao:

Good Morning Snowbirds:goodvibes Hope you all have some fun plans for this weekend! We are going to be working on decorating for Christmas!!! I am having my parents and sil and nephew for Thanksgiving--so I have to leave out one set of Pilgrims and a turkey for the table. I already have my Christmas candles burning!!'HOLIDAY CHEER' yum!! it is wonderful!!

Shelly, I do not like getting my eyes dilated:sad2: DS12 would have been sobbing and held down in the seat! DS9 would have said, okay. It's so funny how they are different. And yes, they do like some of the same stuff--but not too much!!! I hope he does okay with the drops-my boys would have wanted the patch though!!!pirate: Just for that!!

Good morning Snowbirds! :cool1: :cool1:
:welcome: to the Snowbirds, Kelley!

Kona Cafe

Breakfast

Tonga Toast - banana stuffed sourdough bread, rolled in cinnamon sugar and served with Strawberry Compote and your choice of ham, bacon, or sausage $10.99

Strolling down memory lane again...I remember reading about Tonga Toast in the 1983 edition of Birnbaum's guide (I think that's when I first became a Disney addict! :) ) and thinking, I HAVE to try that! Now several trips later, I still never have! It's on my list once again, and I'm determined to make it happen. I hear that it's also available at the Poly's CS (Capt Cook's?), so I think we'll plan to stop there one morning that we walk from SOG to the Poly to catch the monorail to MK. :woohoo: After all these years of anticipation I'll probably decide I don't really care for it!

Okay, so here's what I have for possible Snowbird Meets so far. . .

Jan 18th - 12:00-midnight at the Haunted Mansion

Jan 22nd - 3:00 for the DHS parade - no location yet

Jan 25th - DTD - no time or location yet

??? - A CBR Meet sometime towards the end of the month. . .

Anyone else??? Does anyone have anything going on for the beginning of the month???

Ooh, Jan 22 will probably work for us. :yay: I think we're planning for MK that morning (maybe after my Tonga Toast! :thumbsup2 ) and DHS that evening for Fantasmic!, which we've never seen. We can try to be there for the parade, depending on how the afternoon napping goes.

We're also planning to be at DTD the afternoon of Jan 25--gotta go spend my birthday gift card! :cheer2: I'd be interested in any details that develop on that one too.

Morning Snowbirds,

Hope everyone is having a great Friday...not sure everyone saw my post last night...read on the Pirate and Princess thread that the dates maybe changing and they are no longer showing on dates on Disney's website...maybe there will be some January and early Feb. dates for everyone.

We had some good news yesterday...because of in DLS school schedule she has finals the week we are at WDW...heard yesterday that she will be able to take her finals early...big relief for my Mom.

Glo...sorry to hear about your DH's job situation...hope it works out for the best for you and your family.

We will be at DHS on the 22 and would be interested in meeting for the parade.

Hi Shelly. Way back I had suggested a meet over the bridge at Liberty Square at Sleepy Hollow for a 3:00 parade viewing. It may have been in Part 1 - plenty of people were interested at the time. I figured we'd decide on a day when it got closer and people had their schedules worked out. We are also planning to meet by the pool at All Star Music some evening. Debbieandroo and I talked about it a bit.

Okay, just tell me the dates and I will add them to the list!

I'm really crossing my fingers for a P&P party!! I know its just me, but I would love to go to one of those LOL!!!

My birthday is December 14, which was really bad. Chanukah is a different week every year, and most years my birthday is either just before, just after or during Chanukah. My parents were always careful, but the rest of the family kept doing the "this is a bigger present for Chanukah and your birthday" (and of course it never was bigger!). Then in college & grad school, all my friends were either studying for midterms/finals or had already left for home, so I never got to celebrate my birthday. Now, DH is a musician, so every year, usually on my birthday, he's playing a Christmas concert or Messiah, so I still don't get to celebrate my birthday on my birthday.

Logan's b-day is the 14th too! Unfortunately, I'm guilty of getting him one present to cover both. It's mostly because I'm poor, but I always do try to get him multiple presents. This year we weren't going to get each other presents for our birthdays and Christmas, because we need to save money for our trip. However, he got me something for my birthday, so I'm getting him something for his.

Glo, I'm so sorry for what you're going through. :grouphug: I didn't respond yesterday because I was so mad!

[stepping on soapbox] I hate it when men misuse the word "proud" to mean "insecure"! Your husband's not "proud" in any real sense of the word. He cares more about what the neighbors think than about caring for his own family! A proud man does whatever it takes to meet his obligations. A proud man doesn't lean on anyone, including his wife working two jobs. A proud man takes any job, as long as it's legal, to meet his obligations to his family, and does it to the best of his ability. A proud man knows that there is no shame in gainful employment. An insecure man knows none of those things. Unfortunately, and I have no way of knowing if this is true in your case (and I am not giving you specific advice!) some men don't learn the true meaning of "pride" until they're kicked to the curb. And often the women discover, in the same sense of Remmy no longer having to deal with a negative coworker, that even though they may be carrying more of the load, it's easier without the anchor. [/stepping off soapbox - sorry if it's harsh!]

I don't think it's harsh. Statistically even when women work, they are still expected to do all the housework and everything else. If a man wants to be a stay-at-home Dad, then all power to him, but he should step up and do the cooking, the cleaning, and the laundry. Most of them just sit on their butts all day sulking because they don't have jobs, instead of pitching in and trying to make the most out of the situation.

Morning Snowbirds!

It's a wet and chilly morning here- yuck! I can't be lieve some of you are getting snow already!

I hope everything is going well for Kayte and Sarah today.

Remmy, Thank you for always wishing everyone a good day- your kind words always make me smile!:flower3:

Carrie, I love the idea of a gift scrapbook. I'm thinking of doing the same for my parents after our trip but I am leaning towards digital too. It's so much faster and quite a bit cheaper! :rolleyes1

Shelly, I'm creeped out by what you said about your friend's PTR. I hope it wasn't anything too personal or threatening. Sometimes I just don't understand what makes some people so strange. It does make you think twice. Hugs to her! :grouphug: And a big high five to your son- he's much braver than me! I hate getting my eyes dilated!

I would love to schedule some get togethers but after reading about scary people on the DIS I'm not sure I want to post specifics of where I'll be. Perhaps some PM's are in order?

Almost forgot...

I'M AT 70 DAYS TODAY!!!!!

Good morning Snowbirds! :cool1: :cool1

DD's birthday is January 25, too, so we'll be shopping right along with ya! She's determining where we're going to shop - it's her day! I'm hoping to be at DTD that day, probably just going to shop and girls lunch in the afternoon, then go to Chef Mickey's for her birthday dinner that night, w/fireworks and water electrical parade!

I know a lot of you were following my friend's (Jobird) TR. . . Well someone made a really weird post to it and really creeped her out. . . I saw it. :sad2: The moderators ended up removing the post, but Jo is really creeped out and removed all her pictures and doesn't know if she should continue or not. . .

It was probably just a harmless weirdo, but still. . . Kind of makes you think. . . :scared:

Now you know why I didn't want to post any pictures, or even my real name, on this thread! I love all of you :grouphug: , but you never know who else may be reading/lurking!

Me be thinking it will be next week also LOL!!! We are such chatters LOL!!!

My best friend's birthday is December 24th and I was the only friend growing up who would give her two gifts!! I felt bad because her family would lump her birthday and Christmas together so I felt it was my duty as best friend to make sure she got spoiled LOL!!! To this day I still send her two gifts LOL!!

Jen, will you be my friend??

In 7 weeks and 1 day I will be arrving in Orlando and seeing my best friend for the first time in almost 3 years!
ME TOO (well, except for seeing the best friend part!)
