I'm never going shopping again with two 2 yr olds! :rotfl: I love babysitting, it's my form of birth control!!

For you parents that don't have a lot of babysitters....I'LL DO IT!! That's basically my second job, babysitting. I've done plenty of over nighters. It puts a lot of pressure on me to know that you trust me with your little people, but like I said, it's birth control for me!

Well off to clean the gutters and put up Christmas lights. We do NOT turn them on until Thanksgiving though. We just find the warmest days to do this and this happens to be it!

Oh yeah, I'm on facebook too...all the time!

How far into WI are you? I can always use an extra babysitter!! I remember back when I was young, I did a lot of babysitting. It really does help to open your eyes!!

We did some lights over the weekend too. Don't want to be up there when its 20 and windy and snowing! Love this warm start to Nov. Although I heard it's going to change here by the end of the week. :(

I just am feeling the need for another baby!! I'm sure you moms out there know that feeling.

I was at a party on Friday with DH's coworkers. Ry crawled up on my lap and let me rock him. Now I have the baby bug. doesn't take much for me. LOL

We've been having baby fever for awhile, but we are very nervous about becoming parents!!

AWW, as they say, nothing like a snuggly baby. And they also say there's no perfect time to have a baby. I LOVE BABIES! So don't worry, everyone is nervous about it. You wouldn't be normal if you weren't. I have now gotten over the baby fever (now that I'm 40 GULP it went away rather easily). I am also at the stage where my kids are old enough to be "easy" to do things with, like travel, so I appreciate that. Fortunately, my DD5 is still quite snuggly, with me and her blankie and her thumb, so it's like having a baby without the diapers! :)

It is definitely a big decision, but a worthwhile endeavour. Parenthood is bliss (most of the time)

:rotfl: So true. It is the most rewarding and challenging job you'll ever love! HA! I sound like an ad for the Army!

So was there anyone out there who has been to the Spirit of Aloha Luau at the Poly? I've found a couple reviews, saying the food - not so great, the show was good. Not sure it's worth the $$ though.

We thought about doing it this trip but opted for HDDR instead.

Haha, I'm in the Fox Valley area, about 30 minutes south of Green Bay. I wouldn't charge you too much for mileage :rotfl: .

All this talk about babies....:goodvibes . That is really how I feel about them, *I think*. My supervisor is pregnant so she is constantly having women tell her stories of childbirth and all that fun and all I can think of is thank God for drugs! I've always wanted my own child but I've also always wanted to adopt. It just breaks my heart to think about how many children are out there that just want some love....:guilty:

XXX
So we pretty much got the "basics" of the Christmas lights put up, and without too much hassle, but that would be because I took them down last year and everything was separated in boxes AND the box was clearly labeled....and I also drew a rough sketch of where every string of lights goes because it really isn't so much fun to stand outside when it's 20 below swearing and a tangled mess of lights that only have half the string working :rolleyes1 . *And how many of you just laughed at that because you know exactly what I'm talking about....*

Ok lunchtime. And time to be domestic...I'm making Taco Salad!

Oh wow things are getting a bit ugly on the code watch thread again. They should know better than to talk politics over there!

Since the last time it got ugly I have avoided that thread!! Man if you can't say anything nice, than don't say anything at all!

btw..are any of you guys on facebook? just wondering. I am on their alot.

Yup! I'm there every day! PM me for details! :)

My mom lives in the same town as us but we try not to abuse the sitter situation. But we have worked out a great system with our next door neighbors. If Sherrie needs some "alone time" ie cleaning, shopping whatever she sends her kids to us, if Chuck & want to go for a walk or something we send ours to her.

Plus its always nice to do the "family walk" the kids ride their bikes, usually WAY ahead of us, we walk the dogs, hold hands & talk uninterrupted. We try to do that at least once a week.

Good for you! Doing stuff like that is so important! There are always ways to find childcare! Swapping time with a neighbour is such a great idea!

Other than that I feel like death warmed over!! I put in for a sub tomorrow so you guys might have to keep me company while I lay in bed!!

Oh Poor Jen! Take it easy and rest! Tell that "prince" of yours to take good care of you! :flower3:  Feel better soon! :)

DITTO! I figure we snowbirds are just as on the ball for finding codes and are WAY nicer to chat with! :) :goodvibes

We have our fearless leader Shelly who puts on her armor and heads over there to see what's going on for us!!!

ANd yes most of us know about the codes as soon as most of them over there!

I tiptoe over to the other thread, too;:tiptoe: after all, I started it! :stir: I guess I've got a tough skin - when things start getting nasty, I just skip those posts! Besides, I've got my asbestos gloves!

Can I just interrupt our regularly scheduled chat to see how proud I am to be part of a group of people who have made it through to Election Day without getting political? Wonderfully, so many people in the country feel so passionately about it - it's a nice change from the apathy that often plagues us - but it's so nice to come here and have a happy place free from arguments!

Some other threads (hello code watch!) are judgmental and mean and some of the signatures people (from both sides) have been using are cruel. I'm glad none of that reared its ugly head here!

Okay - chatting may resume! ;)

Fearless leader :rotfl2:

Yes, I have not posted much over there since the last time it got ugly. I think I posted once to tell them that I booked my package and had no codes. . . Now I just scan over it from time to time to make sure there aren't any discounts that the Snowbirds missed or anything! But how could that be possible! :confused3 :rotfl:

You mean to tell me people actually have something other than their Disney Countdown and cute turkeys in their signatures  LOL!!!

I do enjoy my fellow snowbirds!! You guys are the best!!:grouphug:

We thought about doing it this trip but opted for HDDR instead.

So I read these two posts in a row, but quickly.... and missed the second paragraph about Spirit of Aloha. Instead, I read it was "parenthood is rewarding and challenging...." and the reply was "We thought about doing it this trip but..."

My brain went "Wow, you opted to give up attempting parenthood for dinner? Huh!"

Clearly, I need much more rest.

No word on my future niece/nephew yet. I am not waiting patiently, but the only person I harass is my DH (and I won't let him be that pushy "well, baby yet?!" person!), since it's HIS brother!

I still have 66 days to go until Disney! I have 48 hours until my interim vacation! ;)

Hmmm maybe that turkey should be the snowbird emblem? sniff sniff maybe then I get one LOL

Can you come to Virginia? :rotfl: Yes, we need a babysitter! DH and I haven't been on a date in...way too long.

Do they? :confused3 I hardly ever venture off this thread any more! :)

Ooh, me too! Anyone? :flower3:

Thanks snowbirds for the turkeys! Now let's hope that I don't run inot any of his friends on my way from work tonight. NO JOKE!! We have flock of wild turkeys that terrorize one of the back roads I take home. A momma, daddy & at last count 8 babies. They like to play "chicken" with the cars.:scared1:
