SHELLY!! Just the woman I was looking for!! I know that you and your family really enjoy Chef Mickey's! I have a question for you...have you ever been to the dinner?? If so do you know if you can see the fireworks from MK there or is there somewhere else at the Contemporary that you can go see Wishes!!

Hey Jen! We have been to dinner at Chef Mickey's twice. Soon to be 3 times in January. It is great! But, no view of Wishes from there. You can see them from the Cali Grille, and probably some other places at the Contemporary, but not from Chef Mickey's.

Has anyone ever been to Animal Kingdom at Christmas time? Do they decorate the park much? I know they do a special parade. We probably won't get there this year, and if we go in Dec 09, we may not have a lot of time (AGAIN ). I really want to focus on the special Christmas stuff. I know MK and Epcot have tons of things, plus I'd like to see the resorts decorated too. HELP!

Thank you so much I'm going to see if I can't get a dinner there and then maybe find a spot down on the ground where I can view Wishes from a far for my first night in town. A DIS friend of mine just got back and has started her TR if you'd like to read it. We both went to WDW in May 2007 & May 2008, but never met there. We actually met up at the local mall when she lived here in PA. Anyway, she's a riot, the TR is sure to be entertaining!

Wendy - thanks for posting the pictures! I am so excited to see all of the Christmas stuff, I don't know if I can wait a whole year!! I'm going to be posting on these boards so much!!

Another question: My DH wanted me to ask (isn't that great?) if anyone has gone to the luau dinner at Poly? I think it's called Spirit of Aloha. Was the food/entertainment good, worth the money etc. I wasn't sure, but I didn't think there were any characters at that one. I know I could find a review of it somewhere, but, as usual, I had to ask my Snowbirds first!! I trust you guys!!

FLIGHTS . . . So, Delta changed our flights on the way home. They tried to give me a 12 minute layover in Atlanta! I said to the woman "Is that even possible?" She, thankfully was able to get us a different connecting flight. On the other hand, we changed our flight down to Disney to the day before so that we could visit family. It is costing us an additional $450 $100 per ticket for the rebook fee + plus the difference in the cost of the flight. Stinks!!

12 minutes?! *boggle* The poor rep must have just been grateful you didn't flip out at her!

I'm going to go a bit off topic!! But is anyone else here insane like me and is going to be making their own Christmas cards!! I went to Hobby Lobby and bought my paper this weekend now I'm going to start cutting out the pieces. And then the day before Thanksgivng my best friend and I put our cards together!!

Was just wondering if any of you snowbirds also make your cards???

I don't usually make Christmas cards. Some years, if I have a really great photo, I might make that in to a card. This year, I ordered my free 30 prints from Snapfish and got them ALL of Mt. McKinley (I had the BEST luck getting pictures of the mountain in June!!!)... I'm considering getting the cards that are for photos instead of whatever I bought last year on clearance. We'll have to see, though!

Otherwise, I have 0 creativity. I can follow a pattern like no one's business (see, cross-stitching and knitting) but nothing original on my own!!

I don't feel like working anymore today! Help! I still have 3 hours left!!

Edit: Oops, forgot! MaggieD, those pictures with all the Christmas lights are really amazing. I wish I could get down there during the Christmas season and see them!!

Good Afternoon snowbirds, first of all I love all of the christmas pics that are being posed. I only wish I could partake in christmas at WDW, but alas I work in retail so that will never happen.

I want to wish everyone good look as they wait for codes! I remember before we purchased DVC i used to wait as well and I know how hard it can be! Heres to hoping they give you all something fantastic!


Lastly, I am heading off to work and probably won't be back on the boards until Nov 5..I am a big election junkie and most of my time wil be spend watching tv and on political sites!

12 MINUTES? Did they even look at it? That's the dumbest thing I ever heard. You couldn't even get off the plane in 12 minutes! (I'm sure you knew that and were thinking the same thing!). Too ridiculous!
When I went to do our seat assignments last week (about 2 days after it was available -oops!), I was amazed at how many seats you have to pay extra to get - it was like 1/2 the plane!! lucky for me, they gave us decent seats. Toward the back, one aisle and one middle. But we are the last row of that section, so no one will be directly behind me, kicking my seat!

I had the exact same thought about getting out of the plane in that amount of time. She read off the connecting times without it even phasing her.

Wow hearing all the issues over flights makes me glad that we drive. Dont tell DH that I will never live it down that he is right LOL.

So much for any rest got busy so I did paperwork instead. It is just gorgeous here 70 something & sunny.

I too am also a driver, but not because of airline issues!! Although I feel so bad for those of you who have had to handle that!! Seriously a 12 minute layover....ummmmm..not thinking so!! I just hate to fly, I seriously have a phobia of taking off and landing so I will gladly drive the 7 hours from my house to Mickey's House!!!

I'm not going right during the Holidays (even though I would have the time). I never want to negotiate those crowds. However, I am thinking of going at the beginning of December! Still decorated for Christmas, less people!! Sounds like a good combination for me!
