I'm still trying to talk my hubby into moving to FL so I can work as a CM and get us free tickets and live the Disney life. He has this crazy idea that FL isn't the place for us- no snow, hurricanes, too far from family, we'd need to find jobs... :rolleyes1 He just rolls his eyes when I say "Yeah, but honey it's Mickey!!!!!" He just doesn't get it.

I seriously go through this at least once a month. I tearfully beg DH to 'PAH-LEESE' consider moving to Orlando. He's not interested.:sad1:

When I retire and my kids are out of the house.... I'm going to live as an official Snowbird and work at Disney!!!:thumbsup2

WOOT..me too!! I would love to work at Disney!! One of these days I'm going to bite the bullet and apply at Animal Kingdom..that degree in Biological Sciences with an emphasis in Animal Physiology has to have some Disney benefits LOL!!

My goal is to be just like you Wendy I want to go 25 times!! Well it looks like I'll be going at least twice this year if not 3 times! I'm so going to get my money's worth on that AP!!!

Talked to my mom and I think she is going to come with me in December and we will do Disney at Christmas together!!

Hey maybe I'll see you there!! We're going to try to do the bounceback 3 day and a few days (4?) at WDW to see the Christmas stuff!:santa:

My DH wants to do that too!! If I could summer in MN and spend 8 months or so in FL working as a CM, I think we could be really happy!

FLIGHTS . . . So, Delta changed our flights on the way home. They tried to give me a 12 minute layover in Atlanta! :lmao: I said to the woman "Is that even possible?" She, thankfully was able to get us a different connecting flight. On the other hand, we changed our flight down to Disney to the day before so that we could visit family. It is costing us an additional $450 :scared1: $100 per ticket for the rebook fee + plus the difference in the cost of the flight. Stinks!!

12 MINUTES? Did they even look at it? That's the dumbest thing I ever heard. You couldn't even get off the plane in 12 minutes! (I'm sure you knew that and were thinking the same thing!). Too ridiculous!
When I went to do our seat assignments last week (about 2 days after it was available -oops!), I was amazed at how many seats you have to pay extra to get - it was like 1/2 the plane!! lucky for me, they gave us decent seats. Toward the back, one aisle and one middle. But we are the last row of that section, so no one will be directly behind me, kicking my seat! :yay:

I'm going to go a bit off topic!! But is anyone else here insane like me and is going to be making their own Christmas cards!! I went to Hobby Lobby and bought my paper this weekend now I'm going to start cutting out the pieces. And then the day before Thanksgivng my best friend and I put our cards together!!

Was just wondering if any of you snowbirds also make your cards???

Has anyone ever been to Animal Kingdom at Christmas time? Do they decorate the park much? I know they do a special parade. We probably won't get there this year, and if we go in Dec 09, we may not have a lot of time (AGAIN:sad1: ). I really want to focus on the special Christmas stuff. I know MK and Epcot have tons of things, plus I'd like to see the resorts decorated too. HELP!

Afternoon snowbirds!

I hope everyone is enjoying their monday, and being that much closer to JANUARY!

I can't believe how many pages we are up to!
Looks like everyone had a great Halloween and weekend. I am finally resurfacing from reading the Twilight Saga this morning. I still have half of 3 and then 4 to go, but I figured they'll have to wait till the weekend when I can hole myself back into my room and not miss important stuff. I just hate when the real world gets in the way of all my fun!

So, QOTD: Watching Wishes on Main Street. I think it is so magical and fun, it always reminds me how much I love Disney watching the fireworks go off over the castle and listening to the music! Another tradition I started with friends was having the most unhealthy breakfast imaginable one day of our stay, while pretending its good for you. So far this has consisted of Candy Apples (Hey, it's fruit!), Dole Whips (Also has fruit content!) and funnel cakes (ok thery're was really no excuse for that one!)

I have done it many years in the past. I used to do a lot of rubber stamping and once we had kids, incorporated pictures too. Then I got more into scrapbooking and less stamping. Now I'm lazy/busy again and just do the picture cards. Last year we did a collage and I wrote a family letter for the first time. It seems I mostly wrote about trips to Florida! :rolleyes1

OOH, I like that tradition, I may have to adopt it! There is something about being on vacation and saying, What the @#@, I am going to eat whatever I feel like! I even let my kids eat chicken nuggets every day! (Bad Mommy!) But I do make them try something different or new at least once. It started on our cruise last year - I told them they could try anything and if they didn't like it they could get something else, so that really worked well. Most of the kid's menus weren't very exotic, but for my kids, anything other than nuggets and hot dogs seemed good!:headache:

I am seriously not that talented! :lmao: I would really LOVE to be able to scrapbook, but just don't even know where to start! We usually do photo cards. This year we'll have our family picture taken with some reindeer!! :) There's a local company that does educational animal shows and our son is a "kids club" member. So, they're doing a "reindeer reserve" this year and we were able to get a time slot to get our photos taken. Something different anyway.

Jeez, I keep forgetting to mention this. I had an email from Disney Destinations this a.m. "reminding" me that time was running out on the great fall package. Of course it says you must book it by 12/7/08. I saw the Destinations name and got all excited, until I saw the title about "Fall Getaway". Dang!

DH's works here in Houston but the company is based out of St. Petersburg. His boss in St. Petersburg said that anytime he wanted to move to St. Pete's there would be a spot for him. We did check out the houses online and...let's just say that Houston has a very affordable house market. we would have to spend almost triple to have the same size house. I love the Mouse and all but, I think it might be more affordable to visit once a year. :lmao:

When we retire that's a different story! I met a grandfather on our last trip and he said that he and his wife take each set of grandkids to Disney one week per year. He had 3 set of grandkids and said they go down 3x's a year! What a cool set of grandparents!

I want grandparents like that!!! :rotfl:

I'm going to go hide in the storage room & hope now one comes in for the next half hour & try to power nap.

Kayte

Have a nice nap! :cloud9:

So, wonder when the code is coming out. It's very frustrating. But maybe this just means it's something really BIG!:cool1:

I sure hope that is the case! I mean really! After making us wait this long? It better be something huge! :rotfl:

YAY! :yay: I finally got my Turkey to work! Thanks JenJolt! He is so cute! I think I will call him Gobbly George! :lmao:

We had neighbors who retired and took their RV to FL. We bumped into them at DTD on my kids' first trip there!(in2004). It was so cute, the wife worked at the desk at either Yacht or Beach club, and the hubby worked at Fantasyland on the rides! I'm going to have to keep an eye out for them this time!
I want to be that grandparent! Then I can keep going and see it through all those kids' eyes again!

I would LOVE to go to Disney at Christmas.... the rest of my family does not want to to that.... although earlier in Dec is okay with them... right now my sister has DVC ressies for May at the Boardwalk and is also booking Oct.... she wants to me to come visit.... another good use for that annual pass!!!

I'm a huge scrapbooker too!!! I actually have already bought my album and a lot of the paper and stickers for my January album. Lately a lot of the craft stores in my area and I'm very lucky I have 3 of them. Have been having some really really great sales and I have bought a lot of things 50% off!!! I don't even want to think about how much I have spent on scrapbooking stuff...I imagine I could have gone to Disney a few more times LOL

SHELLY!! Just the woman I was looking for!! I know that you and your family really enjoy Chef Mickey's! I have a question for you...have you ever been to the dinner?? If so do you know if you can see the fireworks from MK there or is there somewhere else at the Contemporary that you can go see Wishes!!

:lmao: I want to be a Fairy Godmother Nanny- I'm a former ECED teacher now SAHM- not that I've thought of what job I'd get though cause that would be pathetic:rolleyes1 .
A DIS friend of mine just got back and has started her TR if you'd like to read it. We both went to WDW in May 2007 & May 2008, but never met there. We actually met up at the local mall when she lived here in PA. Anyway, she's a riot, the TR is sure to be entertaining! :goodvibes

Thanks- I love the pics she posted! Gotta go read it now- at least I have something to pass the time while waiting for Disney to figure out what it's doing with these codes.
