a little OT but I just got back from gtting my mail, yeah its a little late in the evening and I saw the white stuff...its goin to be a long winter here in ohio

I am so bummed about the game. If it resumes tomorrow I will be working. I work 3-11 tomorrow. Hopefully my patients won't mind my watching the game.

A late hello to all the snowbirds!

I know most of y'all are tucked in for the night, but I just had to vent, bare with me! Please feel free to scroll to the next post, I don't mean to subject you to my whinning, it's just a relief to type it out and pretend someone's listening!

So I'm involved in a Christmas show at a local community theatre. For about the past year now I've been doing a lot of professional work, but the people I love more than my parents (I call them my unbiological parents) are involved with a local theatre group, and I know how much fun the christmas show is, so I joined on. Now I knew going in it wasn't a professional production, but I guess I've just grown use to a level of work, and expect at the very least COMMON SENSE.
We are now 3 weeks into rehearsals and I want to BANG MY HEAD UP AGAINST MY WALL. I've come to the conclusion that the director is the most unoriginal, uncreative person in the world. She gave last years director hell during the show calling it too short, boring costumes, whatever. Now the show is about half of last years lenght, our costumes are silly, and of all the pretty and fun carols out there, I swear she picked the dullest songs, and they all sound the same! She also has a habit of bitting anyone's head off who mentions an idea. It's pathetic. Ofcourse, my work ethic is to good to just quit now.
There, now that feels better.

Thanks for putting up with my little drama queen moment!
Oh, and one more thing that really bugs me....My favorite things is NOT a Christmas Carol. It is a showtune. PLEASE STOP PRETENDING IT HAS ANYTHING TO DO WITH CHRISTMAS!

OK, now that I think this is a clear sign that I am over worked, over tired and stressed out, I will wish everyone sweet dreams and hit the sack myself!

Good Morning, from the early shift!

Sarabah, Please ask for a second opinion!!!! A doc who doesn't listen is not a good thing!

Remmie, Glad you figgered out the ps thing. you are going to LOVE the earl of sandwich. I eat there quite a bit when in Florida and, unless you go for the desserts, it's not too pricey. The desserts are really good though, so it's hard.

If I have to skip a park, it's DHS. I'm not a big thrill rider and since Hunchback closed, there's no real 'must do' for me there. I'm not a Fantasmic lover either. I've seen it twice and wouldn't stand in line to see it again.

My issue this trip is clothing . . . being there for the whole month, I'm bound to see huge temperature fluctuations. And, unfortunately flying limits how much can actually be taken. Must put hat and gloves on my list.

Happy Day, all!

PS. Sure wish I lived closer to some of you cookie bakers! I used to do about 100 dozen when my dh was in the military. but now, with just we two, it's hardly worth making a single batch of several kinds.

Morning Snowbirds! I'm up on this cold and rainy day checkin' for my codes- again. I think I'll be doing this all week!

Thanks for the notice about the Pirate candy- frightening!

I'm at 86 days now!!!

Good Morning Snowbirds! I actually went to bed at a decent time last night which means I am up at a decent time this morning which means I have exactly 10 mins to check on my peeps before I head to the shower!

Hope everybody has a super day! My DD5 has a DR's appt today at 330 to get her 5 yr booster shot :sad1: I hope she does alright! We have been talking about it all weekend - trying to prepare her for it! She was so brave when she got the stiches in her chin so I can hope that she will be brave today! Say a prayer for us!

QOTD: What is your favourite thing to do on your LAST night in Disney? (I know that we don't really want our vacations to end but it is a good question!)

 I feel your pain...I truly do  This is why we have adopted each other LOL!!

Phil..who's reading this over my shoulder says to tell him WTG Dan!!! He's hoping that he got it LOL!! And he says there is nothing wrong with ESPN and Hunting...MEN LOL :lmao:

Well he did hit it... they found the blood trail and then it went into a swamp where they lost it... it was a 6point buck... DH is going out this morning after it gets light to see if he can find it... they lost the light last night... now it is raining.... oh well...

This is the boy who likes to smell like dirt? I don't believe it! :confused3

He does clean up okay.... :rotfl:

MaggieD~ Love the picture! That actually made me miss my band competitions!!! I hated it then because of what it did to our hair!! Remember, that was still in the BIG hair days!!Long before the straight and beautiful fad!! So, the band hats were dreaded!!!

What... big hair is out..... when did that happen:confused3

QOTD: What is your favourite thing to do on your LAST night in Disney? (I know that we don't really want our vacations to end but it is a good question!)

We love to watch Wishes on our final night.... since we usually take an early morning flight home it is our last time in the park....

Kimberly! That is exactly the question I started researching last night. We must have a snowbird mental connection. I think we will have a 5pm plane on a Monday and am trying to plan that day. Hope everyone has a fabulous day. I can't wait for the time to change. I hate getting the kids up and taking them to school in the dark. They start at 7:30 and really have to be at school around 7:15.

Peanut..... sorry about the game last night..... I hope you get to see the rest of it today....

Hi everyone! Dr. Google helped me find a little more information on my surgeon's decision, so I understand it better... but I don't understand her attitude. My last surgeon was a total geek but he spent a LOT of time with me, and I was less annoyed once I figured him out (it was for my knee, that time). He was also super-responsive... when he said email him, he meant it! I never waited more than 24 hours during the week for a reply, and he discussed with me my options and what each meant.

Maybe he spoiled me!

I have a training this morning - I'm going to be away from the computer until lunchtime. I can wave my top 10 posting goodbye, then!! :rotfl:

We do have a chance of the s-word falling from the sky today - egads! Good thing I'm wearing my winter coat!!

Hi Remmy, not sure if you metioned this before but what part of Canada are you from?

a little OT but I just got back from gtting my mail, yeah its a little late in the evening and I saw the white stuff...its goin to be a long winter here in ohio

To MelXThree, we are from Southwestern Ontario. My DH lived in Medicine Hat for a little while while his step dad was in the service. That is another dream we have is to go back to Alberta. He has many a places he wishes to visit all over again all over the province. He has some good memories of Medicine Hat. I have only been once, as a teenager. My dad took me out to West Ed. Mall. I wish to stay over in the mall's hotel one day. If only the 2 provinces were closer. We have reservations at Le Cellier and we are going to request the Alberta section.

I woke up this morning and saw the above quote from above about snow.  I had to look out the window to make certain it didn't make it's way here. I was relieved to still see grass. It may be freezing cold and that I don't mind, but I am not a big fan of snow. I am surprised there wasn't any snow, it seems to be falling all around us. We still have some outside work to do and I really don't want to see it just yet.

Sara - glad you were able to get some more infomation.... I also get so frustrated with Doctors.... some of them have no bedside manner...... I hope things work out for you....

Good Morning Snowbirds!

QOTD: What is your favourite thing to do on your LAST night in Disney? (I know that we don't really want our vacations to end but it is a good question!)

We use to stay with family at Fort Wilderness, and our favorite way to say goodbye was to go to MK for the day, see Wishes then take the boat back to the campgrounds. The boat ride is fantastic and relaxing. We could still see MK for awhile and say our simple good byes that way.

This time our last night we are playing by ear. We have no TS booked that day and since it is a Thursday we are thinking of trying to see Fantasmic one last time. We haven't seen it yet but do have it as a Fantasmic meal the week before. We thought we should end it with a firework show. We also are saying good bye the next morning by going to Chef Mickey. We thought we would end our trip on a good note then drive away. :sad1:

These are my answers. Good QOTD. I think it is just as important to end a Disney trip as magical to your family as you started. What type of magic you and your family like are up to you.

We are new to pin trading. I have seen the pins being sold at the Disney Stores. Are these some of the same pins being sold at the World?

My other question, is do you wear the pins you like around or only those you wish to trade? Thus far my kids want only to do pressed pennies but you never know they may change their minds if they see others pin trading. I just want to be prepared on what to do.

Thanks Remmy

Hello Snowbirds.

I am sorry for jumping the gun and just begin posting.

I hope everyone has a good Tuesday. Maybe today will be our lucky day with codes? Why do they keep us hanging?

I wonder what today will bring. Will we beat our record of number of pages we did yesterday?

Good Wishes to all Snowbirds.

Remmy

Hi Everyone, after my daily ritual of checking in, I discovered this thread and discovered we are not on it:laughing:. I was surprised since I missed it or overlooked it. Oh yeah, I know, the title "snowbirds" threw me, since that typically refers to retired people, and well, I am not retired yet, but close:lmao: ,

Anyhow, our trip dates: Jan. 22-27, consisting of 1 Adult, 1 tween and 1 teen and the plan is to stay at the new club rooms at CSR:banana:
Our ADRS:
1/22 Teppan Edo 8:30 (late arrival)
1/23 Crystal Palace 6:45 pm
1/24 Coral Reef 1:00
1/25 Boma 5:50
1/26 Mama Melrose @4:35 missed the fantasmic package by 5 min:confused:
1/27 Kona Cafe @1:45

We (ok I) am super excited about the trip, and think we have a great itinerary planned. A bit nervous about the economy, but let's think positive. Thanks for the "soap box" all you retired folks out there :rotfl2: !

Good morning Snowbirds! I'm off to work this morning, so I won't be back until after 3pm. Don't have too much fun without me!

I am from Calgary and I went to a game with my work in the summer. It was a lot of fun (even for a girl who does NOT like sports!)

Yea! So glad you liked it! Even my DD loves going to the games!!!

QOTD- Usually, the night before we leave, we hang out at DTD for awhile. We grab a yummy snack and buy some last minutes Disney items. After that, it's back to the hotel to finish packing. :sad1:

Remmy,

Yes you can trade the pins you buy at the Disney store.... My kids have traded pins for years... what mine do is on one side of the lanyard they put the pins they want to trade and on the other the ones they want to keep....

you might try ebay to buy some pins.... they really don't have to be anything you like... if your gonna trade them away... cheap is what you would be looking for... then the kids can trade them away for ones they want..
