January 2009. . . Calling all Snowbirds ~ Part III !!!

The Code Watch is getting ugly AGAIN. Someone is accusing someone else of giving false info. . .

Hi, Snowbirds! Can someone fill me in on all that I've missed? I just can't keep up anymore! I've had 2 sick kids this week. Took Thomas to the doctor to find out he has a sinus infection. He's on the mend, but Maggie hasn't gotten back to normal since Friday when she had a sore throat and fever. The fever broke, but little sores were developing around her mouth and she still said her throat hurt. Last time it was viral and we just had to wait it out, but the mouth sores worried me, so we took her in. Found out she's got Strep throat! I feel so badly that she's been suffering with strep for days and I didn't take her in!

When they don't have a fever it's hard to gauge the pain level and sickness. She missed Saturday at school but didn't want to stay home. No fever, and she was eating and drinking normally. I just had no idea. In any event, they are both on antibiotics.

And I took a NAP TODAY! I never take naps. I was so wiped out and have myself convinced I'm getting sick. Could be that I haven't had a full night's sleep in a while. Sick kids make sleeping impossible!

In any event, all that to say, I haven't abandoned you! I just haven't been able to keep up with you all!

And I just read on the code thread that the person who said they talked with a CM is a known trouble maker. Why do people do that?

Still waiting for that Disney magic!

Yes I did...they just added Passholder Dining discount to my reservation. My total package for dining, insurance, and reservations for 7 nights came out to less than $800.

I'm not sure LOL Umm I just called the nice CM and she mentioned that I could get Dining added to my AP discounted resort reservation. I told her I was under the impression that I couldn't do that. I had thought the AP rate was just for room-only. However she more than happy to add the Dining Plan to my already existing AP resort one. It is the same Dining plan as the Disney one so I get the same items, I'm now researching all that.

Aaahh. I think it used to be that AP holders had to buy at least a one day park ticket if they wanted to do the dining plan, but that has changed now. It makes more sense to me!

But it's not like you're getting a discount on the actual dining plan, right?

Strep throat is the worst! Growing up, I got it once a year and it was almost always over Christmas break. I hope your kiddos feel better soon. Take care of yourself as well!

Could you explain the Passholder Dining discount?

Trixie... I don't believe there is a discount for AP dining.... recently Disney changed the way the allow AP holders to add dining... in the past you could book a room only reservation with your AP or if you wanted dining you would have to purchase a one day ticket for everyone in your party.... you could then upgrade tickets once you got to Disney... so lets say I have the AP, I would have to purchase a one day ticket and my DH, DD and DS would have to also purchase a one day ticket.. then when we got to DIsney I could upgrade their tickets to what ever length they needed... the change is that Disney now does not require you to buy a one day ticket for everyone in your party... and you can add dining at the regular cost... I hope that makes sense...

OK, what's a Shark Steam Blaster and what do you use it for? I'm all for anything that makes cleaning more fun and easy...although if I started "cleaning non stop" my DH would think I had been kidnapped and replaced with an imposter!

Hey, we were visiting SW Michigan this past weekend! Stayed in Benton Harbor and visited DH's extended family in Watervliet. Are those anywhere near you?



A Shark Steam Blaster is a hard surface cleaner that works using steam and no chemicals....you'll have to look it up. My DH already asked who "took over my body".

If you were staying in Benton Harbor in one of the hotels off of Pipestone then, yes. We live east of there in the country! Watervilet is about 8 miles from me. Small World!

I just registered for the DVC travel show in Rochester, NY! The only date and time left for for Friday, Nov 14th at 4pm. I really wanted to go on Sat, but it's ok. I'm going to have to take my DD out of school early that day. It takes about an hour and a half to get there from here. I'm excited though! It says that there will be character appearances and a dessert reception. That's why I'm going!

No that would be correct...I just got to add dining which with all my table services just made more sense to do at that price. Now I only have to pay two table services OOP and those will be my breakfast meals as they are much cheaper!!
