My BIL's wife gave birth to their first child, a daughter, at 12:40am this morning. Nice and healthy sounding, from the reports from the DH, and a good size.

I'm so excited! I can't wait to meet here at Thanksgiving!

Okay I'm going to ask my snowbirds first....I got off the phone with a CM recently who tried to sell me the Passholder Dining package and she almost had me sold...I would be saving money but I'm a bit concerned. Do you find that your value of service is diminished when they find out you are on the Dining plan vs paying OOP??? I remember reading things along those lines, but I wanted to check with you guys first????

Would getting a package for me at $38/day (and yes I'm doing a table service every meal) be worth it for me???

I'm sorry for always asking questions...I just value your guys' opinions!

PS I'm never going to get my cleaning done at this rate

The DDP no longer includes tips, so it shouldn't affect your level of service. The server still has to work for the tips.

Jen... we love the dining package... I think service is fine... sometimes I think that people expect so much more from Disney severs... We have always had nice service.. whether on the plan or not...

Yes, same here. We have our room booked anyway, plus non-refundable flight tickets, so we're coming, whether there is a code or not. But with the euro-dollar exchange rate getting worse every day, a code certainly would be appreciated. Personally, I would rather take a heavy discount to the room price than a 4-day ticket for the price of a 7-day ticket, as we will have only two days at WDW. Free dining, hmmm... As we have such a limited time to spend at the parks, we did not plan on spending any of that time on TS meals, thus I have no ressies So if there would be free dining for Jan, I would be really excited, but also without ressies... Sigh!

Okay SNowbirds I am off to bed.... very tired and sore from my procedures today.... oh I didn't tell you all..... nothing major... had to "growths" removed.... on from my arm (18 stiches) and one on my lower back (26 stiches)... they hurt like heck.... so a nice pain pill and some sleep... then all will be good

Our DS3 (who seems to be the most excited) grabbed one of those golden Magic Kingdom Keys (I bought it at the Emporium on my last trip) and said "okay maa, I got da keys to Didney Woorld....now we go?"

BTW..anyone use the Shark Steam Blaster???? I bought one Monday and I'm in love with it. I've been cleaning non stop.....my husband thinks it was a great investment!

OK, what's a Shark Steam Blaster and what do you use it for? I'm all for anything that makes cleaning more fun and easy...although if I started "cleaning non stop" my DH would think I had been kidnapped and replaced with an imposter!

Hey, we were visiting SW Michigan this past weekend! Stayed in Benton Harbor and visited DH's extended family in Watervliet. Are those anywhere near you?

I got an early (before park opening) ADR for CRT, and some nice times for Boma, CM, CP and WCC - the only oogie time I got was LC which was 7:40 or so. So there may be hope!

Glad the election is over - well in MN, the senate race is going to a recount, so it's not totally over here.

Code news? I'd be happy with that! Like many, we're going no matter what. There would only be certain codes that would work for us, but I hope lots of you can take advantage and save some $$. Somehow spending less makes it an even better vacation! (More $ for goodies!)

Never watched Survivor. Probably never will. I also think they must be crazy. I watch enough TV as it is.

At work today - not working too hard as you can tell.
I did get some happy news this a.m. from my brother. About a year ago he got laid off from his job (he's an electrical engineer). They gave him a great severance, year's pay and benefits! Fortunately, he was okay financially and has no family to support. He admitted he was lazy for the first 6 months and didn't look too hard. He finally got a new job TODAY!! Like I told him, now I expect a Christmas gift! So I'm celebrating that this morning!

Okay I seriously promise no more...now I have to go find out some research on the Dining plan and try to figure out what I'm allowed to get now with my meals...this might change things for me.....HELP!!!

Did you get the regular DDP? If so, you will get your meal, your beverage, and dessert. They did away with the appetizer on the DDP, but that's okay, they kept the most important part - the dessert!!

Thanks Shelly...and boy did you work fast..you already updated it WOW LOL!! That is okay about the appetizer I wasn't planning on buying one anyways and if I do I'll just pay out of pocket, but with a dessert that will be more than plenty on the food. It seems as if so many false promises and "conversations with castmembers" have been popping up on the codes board. That is certainly reassuring to hear! I'm still just a tiny bit tempted to try to get a breakfast ADR, but I know DH would freak out when he sees what they cost! The main problem is that although our girls are only 10 and 12, they qualify as adults by WDW terms, so we are paying full adults tickets and would thus pay also for four adult meals. Umpff! And I certainly would not mind a really early breakfast ADR, as we plan on being at the parks at rope drop anyway. We're going 4-7 Jan (although leaving already morning 7th Jan, so actual park days only 5th & 6th Jan).

Oh no worries!! We all just have to wait and see what happens!! Hopefully something great is on the horizon, but I don't blame those for just waiting and seeing! Every reason to be cautious! I tend to be too excitiable at times, maybe its time for me to start on my pantry now LOL
